i am googling and scouring, myself, right now, to find any and all
writing/publishing rescources and outfits, etc...

so don't tell me to google itt. (or do, please)

anyhoo...post links to this kind of stuff in here.

particularly anyone that will publish.

i've found a few already, and i'm sure a lot of us could make at least
a few bucks on some of the stuff we've written.
i plan on milking my talents, at least.

these three specialize in "dark" writings. short stories and poetry,
mostly. average for prose is about 3-5 cents a word (this is small time
publishing, alas). Poems go (avg.) about 5-7$ apiece.

what i liked about these three was that each specifically
wanted people to write outside the cliches, like vamps and werewolves,
etc.

If you're trying to get something published you might want to go through an agent, if you send your stuff straight to a publishing company they won't read it.

Some publishing companies will read unsolicited manuscripts; some
won't. TOR reads unsolicited manuscripts; Del Rey does not.

Many reputable agents, i.e. those who do not charge a "reading
fee," will not take on someone who is not published.

Most magazines will read unsolicited material. If you are writing short
stories, just send them out to the mags. This gets you published.
Then get an agent for that novel.

yes and yes.

i'm mostly writing short stories lately, for studies and test characters,
play with style, etc...and i've got piles of them sitting here. some are
kinda decent as stand alone pieces, so i've been editing and drafting
them.

i mean, i know how to get published, and to check if someone
does or does not accept unsolicited MS's.

i need lots more time for a full fledged novel. i attempted a few when i
was a few years younger, but it's all such a daunting thing to stare at
when you're 16-17. i still don't think i'd be able to write anything (at this point)
even moderately remotely close to a full on novel. i don't know enough
tricks for writing yet to not have something that lengthy be dull.

gettin there. i'm going back to school next semester, i think.
focus on english.
