Figured I'd share my latest crafty update with y'all:  This weekend, the central Texas Amtgard groups are going to sponsor an "Iron Newbie" tournament at their joint event.  A team of four or five veterans will be assigned a new player and will be responsible for equipping him/her as completely as possible in two hours (costume, weaponry, basic fighting skills, etc.).

I'm hoping to crank out a T-tunic, some basic pants, and a cloak in that time; we are allowed to bring machines, and mine's already in dire need of a tuneup, so a day out in the humidity won't kill it that much further.  We'll see how it goes.  I'll try to remember to bring my digicam and share some pictures of what I end up making.
