I never said that, so I'd appreciate you not putting words in my mouth (unless the word was "beer"). I simply wanted to know what his opinion was
based on, I was
not commenting on whether or not it was properly developed.
So why did you ask if he wrote music, then?
You were obviously using it as a basis to judge if his opinion was worth a damn.

Listening to music is the analogy of being within the blast radius of the A-Bomb.
The analogy of the question you asked is "Have you ever built an A-bomb?"
the implication is that if someone hasn't built an A-bomb their opinion of being subjected to one is less than that of someone who has built one.
Stupid name.

Fair enough, but even then, my opinion of the A-bomb would most likely be different if I had built one than what my opinion is now. Being inside it will give me a different viewpoint. Whether or not that makes a more or less developed or accurate opinion is arguable, and for the sake of this conversation, doesn't matter. The only thing I was trying to say was that involvement in something will have a different effect on opinion. I never said that people that don't write music have a no place having an opinion on, or appreciating music, but it
will be on a (at least slightly) different plane (at least in most cases).

I've played guitar for nearly 14 years now, classical guitar for 7+ years, played several parlor concerts for money and gotten good tips. I've also written music and published an album through Jamendo. And while I'm still horribly underqualified, I'll listen.

This is punk no? Punk and metal? It should have me thrashing at the end if it really gets me deeply, but it just makes me feel apathetic, emphasis on pathetic. Because it IS pathetic. The lyrics are far from sublime and the whole thing sound generic. No passion, man, no passion.
Not that someone with my little experience has any right to have an opinion.

England, Scotland respectively.
And I just want to add, that if you really want people to listen to your music and give an earnest critique, I think that is fine but dialing back the tude a little bit will go along way to help you. Not everyone writes and composes music but the experience of listening and appreciating music, I think, is a fairly universal concept. Basically, if you wanted only the input of musicians on your music, you should probably try a forum devoted to musicians.

Although, I think you guys have made your point. I am now going to get an office job in a cubicle at a paper factory where I need to wear a collar shirt+tie (possibly a sport-coat or other fancy jacket). I will golf on Sundays and watch television for the rest of the week. I will no longer yell ever, and I will constantly be apologizing to everybody because I don't want to make anyone mad at me. Thanks for showing me the way, guys. I'm going to go get a brief case. A brown one will be nice and dull, I think...
Actually, this sounds like the beginning of a good plan.
You could probably do more damage by infiltrating Corprit Amurrika
tm than by screaming in some dive bar for $30 a night.

I think you meant to say "FUCK YOU, I WONT TIDY MY BEDROOM!" there.
I really need to write a song that uses that hook.
Give me a week and I'll probably have some bare bones lyrics you can work with. I'm thinking something in the vein of Adam and Andrew's Emo Song, only more pointlessly angry.
I just gotta tune my guitars down to C, and work on my Jon Davis impersonation.

That's where it comes from. Or at least it does when I use it.
RATM = that whiney teenage kid that wont tidy their room as an act of rebellion, in musical form.
I feel like combining that with the emo whining of Korn, and the fake bradaggio of Limp Bizkit.
TRIFECTA!

Bradaggio?
Ok, this is weird. I totally thought "Bradaggio" was an actual word.
Linguists, check the fuck in! What word am I trying to say?
I thought you were trying for braggadocio and had a keyboard malfunction.
Bravado?
Machismo?
Adagio?
Sorry,I've never listened to Limp Bizkit.

I thought it might be a neologism of braggadocio and adagio.
adj. - to be boastful in a slow witted manner.

I've seen it used by literate people in apparently professional publications... anyone have an OED handy?
I've had plenty of occasions where I tried to look up a word online and couldn't find it, but it was in my print dictionary. Which I can't find right now.

Bradaggo doesn't exist, according to the OED. http://dictionary.oed.com/cgi/entry/50026431?nearest_to=bradaggio

Interesting that it's such a common misused word... maybe it'll make it in someday.

What does the ability to write music have anything to do with the ability to understand and appreciate music?
Musicians that think that way fucking suck.
I never said that, so I'd appreciate you not putting words in my mouth (unless the word was "beer"). I simply wanted to know what his opinion was based on, I was not commenting on whether or not it was properly developed.
He didn't, you fucking retard. Goddamn. Die wrapped in burning plastic.
Little too much pop in your punk, dear...This further explains my point that true punk is long since dead. Done. Fin. Gone......All you have left are barely legal, howler monkey retards with generic tattoos. Punk is meant to be horrible; that just sucked...funny enough, there's a huge difference.
*looks to the front page* And for the record, I write my own music...and I stay the fuck away from the punk genre. I have respect for the dead, dammit.
Cramulus is the only good Myspace musician on this board and he should never have deleted that stuff.

I had to delete that profile because it kept coming up during job interviews.
Protip: If you're going to write music about drinking first thing in the morning, don't put it on myspace under your real name.
IT'S AWFULLY BLEAK THIS MORNING
I'M THINKING
START DRINKING
OH IT'S AWFULLY BLEAK TO BE DRINKING
IN THE DAYTIME
SAYS SOCIETY
SO IF YOU GET DRUNK IN THE AFTERNOON,
IT'S TIME TO MAKE AMENDS
JUST HOLD OFF DRINKING UNTIL EVENING
AND GET DRUNK WITH YOUR FRIENDS
