Who is John Galt?

Elon Musk is John Galt.

A Captain of Industry, a Titan of Business, he is embodient of the self-made man, a modern Prometheus bringing the Glorious Future to the waiting masses.

And like John Galt, he too is a fictional construct, an emanation of a flat and feeble imagination which has only a cursory understanding of economics, science, politics, management, or engineering; a creature that only exists to the extent that people believe in him.

John Galt's author was Ayn Rand; the creator of the fictional Melon is the real-world Musk, supported and abetted by his cult of libertarian tech-bros and adoring fanboys.

Politics has Trump; Technology has Musk.

I have two questions:

Why did Prigozhin turn back, and why was he (apparently, if perhaps only temporarily) forgiven?

Neither of those things make sense to me, from which I infer that something very interesting happened behind the scenes.

And as for everyone else?  They've gone topside, where they stagger around, pretending that Canada isn't on fire, and weather all over the world is FUCKED, [...]

The sunlight is the wrong colour.  It has been for a while.  Once you've learned to see it, you can't unsee it; even on a clear day with a blue sky, there's an everpresent yellowish tinge to everything.  Sometimes it's subtle, sometimes (like today) it's not.

I enjoy a little schadenfreude as much as the next chap, but this is an unfortunate example of gun violence, with a child whose life may have been permanently stained through no fault of their own, and you're cracking weak jokes and patting yourself on the back for it.

Her dreams are unusual, but at least she has aspirations more varied than regurgitating news articles like a geriatric parrot.

The morality of the Machine God admits no notions of good or evil.  There is only the eternal striving towards optimization.  The purest of goals is to make the system faster, more powerful, more efficient, more automatic.  Who cares what the system is for, if it is perfect?

Possible meteorite crashes into New Jersey home, no injuries

Some unusual stuff is happening in New Jersey these days. After the "Pasta Dump Case," I can't help but wonder about the possibility of the Flying Spaghetti Monster being involved in this incident too. After all, it does fly, and it probably drops stuff once in a while.

If you had drawn the obvious meteorite / meatball analogy, that might have had more narrative cohesion.

When first reading about this, I immediately thought the Pastafarians, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster itself, might be responsible.

Wow, that's rough.  You must have felt so stupid when you discovered it was just some prepper's discarded stockpile.

That and how the slightest deviation from a randomly agreed upon canon in a series with some of the loosest claims to sci-fi in any bit of media, is treated as high treason.

Sci-fi aside, I would hesitate to qualify Star Wars even as space opera, since I associate that term with a modicum of realism in politics and military strategy.

Star Wars is space fantasy.

I must have missed that.  I actually thought he was "one of the good ones" right up until he threw his little hissy fit.  A pity, really.

But, one of the lessons of discordianism is "there are no good ones."  Since his returning post wasn't an apology, I see no need to be charitable.
