Isn't that a bloodline from Vampire: Masquerade?

There is weather, and I am angry.  What are you going to do about that?

I don't think I had pulled together much of that research until about 2007 anyway, after we were banned.  The assumption was Eris was just Eris and since there were few in the way of classical references to her, Thornley and Hill were right in saying the Greeks didn't worship her.  Discovering otherwise took a bit of (metaphorical) digging through some fairly antique texts.

There's more legitimate archaeological evidence for Eris worship than there is for anything in Wicca extending back beyond Gerald Gardner's desire to get laid in the 1940s.

Which is not to say there is a lot (Strabo mentioned a statue to Eris in one of the temples, scattered worship of goddesses associated with Eris, such as Enyo and Bellona), just that by mere virtue of existence it hands down beats Wiccan claims to antiquity.

Aneristic Illusions / A righteous rant on Twitter

I thought, Mr. Dorsey, that we had an understanding. I would not ever concede that telling you or anyone else they ought to die of boils was unjustifiable after their own rhetoric lapsed into abject slander, dishonesty or dishonor, and you — pretending that I had somehow threatened the actual well-being of another human, or that my words were measurably more cruel than telling someone to, say, take a long walk off a short pier or grow like an onion with his head in the ground — would continue to bar me from the demagogue-encrusted, Nazi-profiteering national agora that you call a social-media platform.

I was more than content with this bargain.

For one thing, leaving intact on Twitter my threaded suggestion that boils are your deserved fate for your civic performance in this moment would make clear why I departed months ago. No one had actually been threatened or harassed, and the rhetoric itself was purposed as a precise critique of your incompetent attempts at algorithmic censorship, which routinely ban people for the most casual sarcasm while leaving intact organized slander and disinformation. This seemed to me fair payment for my exile.  For another, I was able to use the time I had previously spent on Twitter jabbering with Russian bots and assorted meme-spewing deplorati to much greater accomplishment, such as deworming my neighbor’s dog and rearranging the books on my shelves by color.

At that point, we were good, and our ways, well parted.

Imagine my renewed contempt for you and all your public works when I find out from a third party that even though I declined to delete the tweet in question — which was number 10 on an 18-tweet thread explaining exactly why Twitter has managed to embrace censorship on matters of mere decorum, without having the slightest effect on any of the grave and actual offenses perpetrated on your site — your shitsquib, basement-dwelling minions simply went behind my back and unilaterally removed item #10 from the string.  And get this — they did so while continuing to present me with the insistent demand that I delete the item myself in order to be reinstated.

That’s right, you took it down yourself, quietly, secretly — and all the while kept pretending that until I did so you couldn’t possibly return me to your platform. You gutless, cheese-eating, back-dooring fuckbonnet.

It is a story which, anecdotally, appears to be repeated across the food sector: halted investment, shifted production, uncertainty. It indicates a shrinking of the food economy is under way. It also means Britain’s food production is going to stall and even go into reverse at the exact moment it needs to go up. Only 49% of the food we consume in this country is now produced here. Another 30% comes directly from the EU. That’s 10,000 shipping containers a day. Another 11% of the food we consume arrives under EU deals with third countries outside the EU; 70% of the cropland required to grow our food is located abroad.

People with knowledge of discussions within government told me about leading figures in the food industry going to see Theresa May to plead their case. “She just stonewalled them,” one told me. Angus Davison of fruit company Haygrove summed up the views of many people across the food industry when he said of the prime minister, “She’s not interested in us and not listening to us. She’s an intelligent person, so I presume she doesn’t care and is prepared to sacrifice the industry.”

That said, the language of the report is practically staid compared to that used by Lang when we talk shortly after its publication. “This is the biggest challenge Britain has faced since the early 1940s,” he says. “A hard Brexit would be an unprecedented event in modern food history.” He describes a face-to-face meeting with Gove. “I told him he was driving the country into a food security crisis. He looked incredulous.”

But surely the government wouldn’t let that happen? Lang told me he had it on good authority from a senior adviser to a senior minister that currently the best notion the government had for dealing with a hard Brexit was to abandon all checks and regulation of food coming into the UK, with huge ramifications for both quality and safety. “That’s not taking back control. It’s abandoning it.” And none of this even begins to get into the details of the free flow of food and agricultural goods across the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic.

But, you know, I'm an alarmist Remoaner for telling people to stockpile food in the event of a No Deal Brexit.

Sticking point appears to have been protection for his family.  So at least he gives a shit about his daughters, if not his wife.

I can't imagine why Manafort's family would need protection though...

There's that polonium flu that's going around.

A nice novichuk sandwich.

So when does it all come tumbling down? Feels like I’ve been waiting for decades.

Watergate took 2.5 years.

I am feeling patient, because I am seeing results.

Also, remember, I started talking about this here and on FB a lot sooner than most.  So for us it has been even longer.

I went to the hospital today.  They gave me the kind of treatment I'd have to pay £200 for in a Soho nightclub, then gave me a pack of pills and a certificate to say I'm not dying.

Which is nice.

Well, the temperature is gone, but some other symptoms remain.  Besides, I had the flu for 2 weeks before and all I did was die in bed while watching Archer. Doctors can't do much for that, but for what I'm being annoyed with, there is possibly something.
