Don't get me wrong, I greatly appreciate the fact that you're at least putting effort into sincerely arguing your points. It's an argument I've enjoyed having. It's just that your points are wrong and your reasons for thinking they're right are stupid.

the Penguin Classics collections of HPL's stories are LOADED with annotations that made the stories much more enjoyable for a modern reader to appreciate.
ooh, nice. I should check those out. There have always been a couple lovecraft stories I could never get fully into because, while his writing sometimes manages to transcend it, his racism gets in the way and pulls things back to mundanity, but reading it with Joshi's commentary would probably help.

I apologize in advance for any appearance of mockery of gender identity on my profile if this feature comes to pass.
??? I see no mockery
Plus, I see no point in apologizing to a concept, especially not for mocking it.
(Edit: I want to make it clear I'm not saying mock other people's self-identification, I mean mock the concept of gender all you want, eh?)

Reading all sorts of stuff from the Black Wings of Cthulhu anthologies collected and edited by S.T. Joshi. Full of great weird fiction stories. Really inspiring stuff, and the little introductions by Joshi at the beginning of each book are great too.

Gender is a social construct.  As a society, we have determined your gender for you, at no extra cost citizen.

Is there a way to add a write-in candidate to the gender thing on your profile? Can we make it so?

Some of these are a little on-the-nose/edgy for my tastes, and I didn't make them (I'll post shit I made in a minute), but I just remembered this site and that it has an art gallery.

Friend of mine took these picture of theirself. I asked for permission to use them for posters etc. and they were declared free-range, copyleft jpegs (Which is weird, because they're pngs, but whatever.) Free to a good home.
I can't find "FIGHT ME", a fucking magnificent full-page image, on this computer, but I might port it from my phone and put it up at some point.
They might only be amusing to me because I know the guy, but I don't know, maybe not.
I apologize for the sidewise nature of the pics. If you're so lazy and/or demanding of basic courtesy that you need me to rotate them for you, there ya go.

That was awesome  :mittens: :mittens: :mittens:
Those who never consider they might be the bad guys are most likely to be the bad guys.

I know this is literally all anyone is talking about, but

also, on topic, I agree that the emboldening of jackasses is going to be a pretty big issue even once things get patched up on the political scale. The wonderful thing about the government is that it can't control the social climate (though it can try). This also means that the assholes are going to remain emboldened for some time.

I haven't read it yet, but near as I can tell, the idea is the metaplot of the world is moving along with ours; new archetypes are emerging, people are finally starting to figure out how to channel the Naked Goddess, etc.
There are also a couple new schools of magic(k, bleh) in the new edition. Don't know how much the rules have changed.

So, it came out last month.

I am insanely excited to play it. My current UA group is switching over to it from 2nd edition. The GM has it through less-than-legal pathways because he's got money troubles, but I'd like to get the physical books to share with him.
On a slightly related note, http://ua.johntynes.com/index.php is broken for some weird reason.
Luckily, I have a complete .txt copy of the Absurdomancer rules, which I'm using for my character. I'll put them on pastebin and link them later in this thread. If you have any insight and/or stuff from in-the-site, post it here if you like.

Hi! I'm Chucklemaster. I posted here maybe 300 (holy crap that's too many) or so times and then left for a year or so.
Once upon a time I thought I liked Discordia, but then I actually thought about it and discovered I was not at all the person I wanted to be, so I changed. Still a discordian(if you want to use labels), just channeling my pretension into other things now.
These days I'm playing RPGs and such with strangers and pals, going to punk shows and other adventures, writing poetry and short stories, and studying the weird.
I'm not gonna post any contact details here because of paranoia but if you PM me I'll probably give you usernames you can find me at. Please name specific sites and why, though.

I found this: http://wwwwwwwww.jodi.org/
Explored it for a bit, then set it as my home page.
If somebody knows what's up, let me know.
