5. Negative campaigns are extremely effective. Running a positive campaign achieves no more than does "Preaching to the choir."

Don't believe me? Then, consider giving some thought to how well the "When they go low, we go high" strategy worked out for the Democratic Party.

4. Know your constituency. A successful political campaign must appeal to "the lowest common denominator."

And, don't ever forget, in 'Merica "the lowest common denominator" is exceptionally low.

3. 'Macho man image' means everything to macho 'Merican men.

And, as Laurence J. Peter wrote, "An ounce of image is worth a pound of performance."

While idly musing about what happened on Election Day, I remembered this song from 1968:

Simon & Garfunkel - America (2021 Remaster)

I then realized that I've found America. But, it's actually 'Merica, and it's not what I had hoped it would be back in the day.

2. Macho 'Merican men want their womenfolk barefoot, pregnant, 'n' in the kitchen. They don't want no uppity, pantsuit wearin' women tryin' ta run no gubernment.

1. 'Merica is not the shining city on the hill. It's the trailer park between Beer Belly's Bar and Ridgerunner's Ammo 'n' Live Bait Shop.

"An ounce of image is worth a pound of performance."

We all just saw this to be true.

For what it's worth, the internet currently attributes this quote to David Lee Roth. But, it was actually made famous back in the early 70s by Laurence J. Peter of The Peter Principle fame.

Whoever thought of this is absolutely brilliant!

"Mysterious Monument On Capitol Hill 'Honors' Jan. 6 With A Bronze Turd"

As per this article:

"WASHINGTON ― A mysterious bronze-colored monument was installed Thursday morning across the street from the U.S. Capitol grounds "honoring" the people behind the Jan. 6 insurrection with a massive turd.

The monument depicts an emoji-style pile of poop sitting on a desk with then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) nameplate next to it and a plaque underneath that reads:

This memorial honors the brave men and women who broke into the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021 to loot, urinate and defecate throughout those hallowed halls in order to overturn an election.

President Trump celebrates these heroes of January 6th as "unbelievable patriots" and "warriors." This monument stands as testament to their daring sacrifice and lasting legacy.

Yes, it's that time again, in the Year of Our Lady of Discord 3190.

Hail Eris! All Hail Discordia!

Yes, it's the beginning of the fifth and final season of the Year of Our Lady of Discord 3190.

Given that this is a presidential election year in the US of A, we'll have to deal with 'The Aftermath' from the goings-on of the earlier part of the year. And perhaps, our Blessed Goddess Eris willing, we'll have something to celebrate at the very end of this year.

Hail Eris! All Hail Discordia!

Quote from: Pergamos on October 15, 2024, 08:22:17 PMHas anyone said why the GOP is not controlling the weather too?

Actually, the GOP is controlling the weather. They're just not doing it right. And, that's why we have Climate Change today.

October 13, 1307 - The Knights Templar Were Arrested

At dawn on Friday, 13 October 1307, King Philip IV of France ordered their leader, and many others of the French Knights Templar, to be simultaneously arrested. The arrest warrants started with the words: "Dieu n'est pas content, nous avons des ennemis de la foi dans le Royaume" ("God is not pleased. We have enemies of the faith in the kingdom").

This is the origin of the Friday the 13th superstition.

October 11, 1973 - The Pascagoula Alien Abduction

The Pascagoula Abduction was an alleged UFO sighting and alleged alien abduction in which two guys claimed they were abducted and examined before being released by aliens, when the guys were fishing near Pascagoula, Mississippi.

Now, I suspect Pascagoula was a pretty boring place back in the day. And, I suspect it hasn't gotten much more exciting over the years. But, this particular alleged alien abduction did allegedly involve two guys, so ... Anyway, someone, or some group, actually funded and commemorated this alleged alien abduction with an actual plaque placed on the alleged, actual site of the alleged alien abduction.

Drama Queen Greene has gifted us with yet another performance. She's actually starting to make Louis Gohmert, the former Representative from Texas, look like a genius by comparison. And, I didn't think that was even remotely possible.

And, this time around Alex Jones followed up with a meme of her act.

"Hurricane Helene conspiracy theories about lithium mining, weather control spread widely"

As per this article:

"The false claim that the government controlled the weather to manipulate Helene's path to hit majority Republican areas has racked up millions of views on social media.

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene posted on X , saying: "Yes they can control the weather. It's ridiculous for anyone to lie and say it can't be done." The post, which had more than 40 million views at the time of writing, was also debunked via a Community Note on X.

Greene also posted what she described as a map of areas affected by Helene – in states including Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas — with an overlay showing the area is home to a majority of Republican voters.

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones also amplified the claim, saying "Bottom line the federal government could have killed the storm in the Gulf of Mexico." Both Greene and Jones pointed to cloud seeding as evidence that the government controlled Hurricane Helene."

Here's the link to this article:      Drama Queen Greene and Alex Jones Spread a Weather Control Conspiracy

I'll have to do a little research on this topic, but my memory tells me that Weather Control Conspiracies have been around for quite a while.

October 10, 1973 - Spiro T. Agnew resigned from Vice Presidency of the US of A

Agnew got caught taking kickbacks from contractors during his time as Baltimore county executive and governor of Maryland. And, to make matters worse, the payments had continued into his time as vice president of the US of A.

My, my how times have changed. If a high-ranking elected Republicult™ official were caught doing that today, the Supreme Court would bend over backwards to try to legally define the kickbacks as 'gratuities,' and the Republicult™ would nominate that official for even higher office.
