I read a bit of Food of the Gods yesterday and found it pleasantly surprising. I had semi written Terence Mckenna off when he said something like 'UFO's are the human sub-consciousness masquerading in a form not to alarm us.' However I listened to some of him today and he comes across as a lot more intelligent, maybe he was having an off day when he said the UFO bollocks.

Principia Discussion / Kerry Thornley's poetry.
November 15, 2015, 04:00:56 PM
I'm fully aware that Thornley is not mentioned much here, and I apologize for my last two threads here being about him!

However I am curious about his poetry, namely his poem 'Illuminati Lady'. I've done some searches and can't seem to find anything, however admittedly I have not gone that deep. I've seen him read out some haiku's of his, but apart from that nothing.

Can any of you help me out?

Cheers, Eric.

P.S- Found this, you may find it interesting http://www.impropaganda.net/1997/kultcha.html

This book had a big impact on me. I've actually got it in print.

I liked Thornley's description of how naming the movement was its death.

Love the koans too:

QuoteThe Shortest Theological Debate in History

Ho Chi Zen: "What is God like?"

Tom: "Somebody. I don't care."

a few snippets of this book made it into Camden Benares (aka the Count of Fives) book "Zen without Zen Masters".. If you like Zenarchy you should check it out.

You can hear Thornley discuss Zenarchy here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtCl5sL4FOQ

There might be a reason that 13 years in the board's existence, we don't talk about Thornley's stuff much.

Oh.

I'll let myself out.

Aneristic Illusions / Thoughts on Jeremy Corbyn?
October 26, 2015, 12:32:25 PM
Some may know that in the UK the Labour party have got a new leader, called Jeremy Corbyn. Some see him as the new messiah, some think of him as a made lefty. To quote Stewart Lee
QuoteBut in such moments of despair I think to myself, WWJCD? What would Jeremy Corbyn do? And the sadness just fades away.

I haven't seen a thread for this, so I made one! For all of those who have not read the book by Kerry Thornley, here - http://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/kerry-thornley-zenarchy
