Think for Yourself, Schmuck! / Subliminal Message
February 04, 2007, 01:03:45 AM
What is a subliminal message?

a message delivered 'below consciousness'

what that means is that you are paying attention to something, but there is also other messages being beamed at you (that you are not paying attention to)

this happens all the time

People find the implications of subliminal messages fascinating -

what effect do subliminal messages have?

what effect can they have?

There is messages beamed at you all the time.

To intentionally broadcast a subliminal message would suggest a desire to keep the message below a person's consciousness, but have the message delivered nonetheless

it suggests that the message will somehow get into a persons head, and eventually factor into their decision-making process at some point (without them ever having realized that they received the message)

no doubt this topic can be looked at from a few angles, but what are the initial thoughts that come to mind when you consider subliminal messages?

my hunches are as follows:

subliminal messages would require repetition to be effective --> but from this angle, i dont see how they would differ from regular messages that often need to be repeated in order to make an impact

the presence of something in your line of sight forces you to consider it (the reverse of 'out of sight, out of mind')

if you continually make a connection between 2 things, then the connection will remain in peoples heads for a while (instead of flashing random messages)

questions:
is the general practice of schooling children and teaching by repetition a form of sending subliminal messages?
repetition repetition repetition

drop some perspectives on this if you have a chance

Or Kill Me / Jumping Through Hoops
February 01, 2007, 04:50:26 PM
Talk about old fashioned.

Hasn't everybody got bored of jumping through hoops yet?

It's funny how counter-intuitively things progress: a system gets set up, and when a problem arises, instead of making the system simpler to alleviate the problem, it gets made more complex.

Take a inventory of your life and you will see it is true:
all you have really done is
1. slept
2. ate
3. breathed
4. excreted
5. communicated
6. explored
7. been stimulated
8. found more food for your next meal

So where did all this other shit come from?

This drive to be 'productive' is a social paradigm - but nobody can answer to what end?

Productive toward what?

To do what?

To accomplish what goal?

The goal obviously has nothing to do with establishing a better and more comfortable way of life.

The icing on the cake is that if you asked everybody individually about what the goals are/should be, there would be tremendous and resounding agreement.

Tolerance, freedom, respect -- all things good.

But when you take these same people and put them in a situation of shared and endless-yet-exhaustible resources, they simply fuck it up.

We live in a place where tired people cannot rest and hungry people can't get food even though there is enough of it.

Here we are - mechanically waking up, traveling to locations, performing functions and returning to our designated confines all in the name of perpetuating the flawed system.

The optimistic understanding is that this system eventually collapses under its own weight.
And the strategic approach is to be patient and endure it. Some would suggest contributing to the collapse wherever possible.

The silver lining is there, but a lot of people don't like that shade of silver enough to pursue it - or worse - they don't even notice it.

Its not that they enjoy jumping through hoops, but they simply have never known anything else.

The excitement of waking up and jumping through the same hoops you jumped through yesterday.

The path is familiar and synthetically stimulating, but it exhausts and disfigures and is ultimately hollow and unfulfilling.

Think for Yourself, Schmuck! / Morals
January 29, 2007, 08:54:16 PM
so

i guess it is generally assumed that 'morals' are not popular amongst a community like this - which is true

but the term moral seems to be interpreted differently by different people

morals
rules
ethics

no - we arent the type of people who remove our hats when entering a building
and we arent the type of people who adhere to much etiquette or social niceties

but
when it comes to some situations, the foot comes down

and it comes down with more ferociousness here than it does in a lot of other places

in a attempt to define what the discordian 'moral stance' is, it seems like it would be something along the lines of

'dont do anything that you wouldnt do publicly'

the current social structure and legal system allows a lot of people to do a lot of things (harassment, doing things in the name of 'art') that would wind up being dealt with harshly in a 'free' environment

consider the story of a woman who is a victim of harassment, and whose family members would be more than willing to lay a fierce beating down on the harasser, but they are powerless to do anything in this situation without facing (almost certain) punishment themselves from the 'authorities'

what deterrent does the aggressor have in this situation?

little if any - in a lot of ways, he is protected and is able to continue victimizing

like a kid that runs up and smacks the next kid, then goes and hides behind the teacher

at first glance, the criticisms of this approach are along the lines of
'you cant have vigilante justice'
'people should be allowed to have freedom to express themselves'
'what makes you guys think youre so right?'

well - take a look at the situation

if you perform a action which you get negative feedback for - investigate it to understand why

there is usually a foundation for it

there is a difference between disobeying circus-style 'social etiquette'
and
violating things that are trying to live or contributing to oppression

victimizing
abusing
extorting
exhausting

there is no laws or rules

but if that is the course of action you are planning to take, dont act surprised at the feedback you get

its not a matter of anybody being 'right'
but
if youre the one who decided to pull the pin from the grenade, why act surprised when it blows up?

blame the grenade, right?

that stance is played out

and to address the segment that is in a situation that 'cant control what they do' - i have sympathy for that

it doesnt seem like that situation will prevent a person from getting whats coming to them

just because some habits and tendencies can be tough to kick (or really tough to kick)
doesnt mean you still get to hold on to them

these are just hunches

Here is the a cappella:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SVXOXZR9

Here is the lyrics written out (roughly)

hey kid
welcome to prison
you might wanna listen
to the wisdom
we're kickin in your direction
what?
youre hard-headed?
brain-deaded?
too many years of training got you misleaded?
brainwashed?
youre lost?
and it aint the tv show
this is real life shit
getting dark like sleepy hollow
we cordially invited you
if you decline we might smite you
not because we dont like you
we set the spark that ignites you
we drop habits like hippies drop acid
sharpen blades like blacksmiths
while youre armed with a matchstick
we cant go wrong
we done been there
and got the bruises to prove it
spit original legit
on demand we produce it
this aint poetry its potency
the roots that support the tree
and it aint just me
hit PD and meet the family
international
intergalactic
trans-dimensional
and when we rain we pour
its more like torrential
you can ignore it for now
we'll see how far it gets you
even a construction crew
cant dig deep enough to protect you
no illusions
we're drawing blueprints
slow and steady keep it moving
trial and error keep improving
gain momentum never losing
stay sharp never snoozing
any doubt we barstool it
the air is gettin thick
and we're in it like pollution

Think for Yourself, Schmuck! / The Best Map
January 18, 2007, 01:39:00 AM
The map is not the territory.

The map is never the territory.

Some maps are better than others.

What are the features of the best map?

it might be interesting to use some visual aids in answering this question...

what things do we deal with?
time
space
people
life/living things
symbols
words
robots
Machine

any worthwhile map needs to include all these elements directly or indirectly

Think for Yourself, Schmuck! / him they we you us me
January 15, 2007, 01:43:27 AM
me is a part of some sort of us

when you are talking to me, im known as you - a component of you (plural)

when you talk about me, im known as him - a component of them

when you and me align and move in the same direction, we are a part of we - you can refer to it as us

you wanna get rid of him
you gotta be ready to deal with them

and if you wanna go against me
you go against us

we dont stop
we dont go away
we lay low for a little while
but we always come back

we take many forms

We are glad you came back.

We missed your presence here - the way you keep everything grounded and balanced.

Things got pretty hectic without you around.

We know you had to go through some shit to make it back here.

You don't have to tell us about it.

We just want you to know that it's good you made it back.

We know you probably had to do some things you didn't want to do, but you can keep that to yourself if you want.

It doesn't matter what you had to do.

We understand.

Don't feel bad.

The important thing is that you're back.

If you have stories to tell, we'll listen.

Just don't feel that you owe us any explanation.

We know all about it - or at least, we can imagine.

Take a seat.

Relax.

There's food in the kitchen and blankets in the closet if you need to rest.

Help yourself.

If you need anything, let us know.

We'll be around.

You did good.

In the book Infinite Jest*, there are details about a potent form of media.

Here is a brief re-cap:

In the world where the story takes place, promotional DVD-like discs were often sent to people in the mail as a form of advertisement.

Upon returning home from work early one day, one of the characters receives a DVD in the mail, but the package had no details or description on it. Dude popped it into his player anyway and began watching it.

The reader never finds out (I dont think) what the exact contents of the disc are. All we find out is that the disc is so engaging that the dude watches it, and it is so engaging that he watches it again. And then again. And then again. And then he just puts it on loop, and gets stuck watching this program.

When his wife comes home and finds him stuck in front of the screen, she sees that he has also pissed his pants and has slipped into some sort of zombie-like state watching this program. But when she starts watching it, she also gets stuck watching the program.

Eventually, dude doesnt show up for work the next day. His employer sends some lackeys to go check whats goin on. When they show up at his house, they peep the scene and then they too end up getting stuck watching the program on the screen.

Some door-to-door religious types find the door open and decide to enter the house. They too get stuck watching the program.

By now you should see where this is going.

As it turns out - if I recall correctly - the media had been put together by some sort of French-Canadian terrorist organization of people in wheelchairs. I cant remember the full details correctly.

The notion of creating a piece of media that is so engaging that people cannot turn away from it seems to be the aim of some people and organizations.

Controlling the mind.

In these days, creating a immobile, comatose audience is not the preferred outcome. Rather, media is getting better and better at making people move in a certain direction. Its not so much a quest to control peoples entire lives, but instead it is a quest to control the decision-making capacity insofar as revenue and profits are involved.

How does one counter this?

It seems that the approach of avoiding and/or boycotting media has been attempted, but has failed miserably. The media force simply becomes stronger and more effective.

The results are predictable: people making choices based on information that is broadcast not to 'inform', but to convince.

The destructive effects of this are evident and have been detailed repeatedly.

The only thing that seems clear now is that this is a trend that is not going to stop until 'the end' (whatever you may determine that to be).

If this is something inevitable, it seems that the only way to put an end to this is to leap into it and advance the progress.

This point of view can be seen in some literature:
"Immanentizing the eschaton" is a term I recall from The Illuminatus Trilogy*, and I also recall themes similar to this in the graphic novel Watchmen*.

Saying that something is imminent suggests that it is inescapable.
When there is something inescapable, it places constraints and pressure - like being trapped.
When something notices that it is trapped, it is not uncommon for that thing to seek any way out.
In a situation like this - it appears that the 'only way out' is to plunge head-first into the situation.

more on this later...

add on...

*
Infinite Jest - by David Foster Wallace - debut novel - a ridiculous 1100 pages - flashes of brilliance
The Illuminatus Trilogy - by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson - incredibly entertaining - many suggest it is poorly written with a sloppy ending
Watchmen - by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons - great piece of literature - held by some as the best graphic novel ever

Or Kill Me / At Any Given Moment
January 09, 2007, 12:45:14 AM
mmmmm just about to sit down for a nice meal

perhaps a little candle light to set some warm ambience

for yall meat eaters - maybe a nice rack of lamb wiff a side of veggies
for the non-meat-eaters - maybe a plate of home-made macaroni and cheese, some broccoli on the side

for some - a glass of wine
for others - just water

regardless - you are about to sit down to a pleasant supper, and on your way to sit down, you decide to check the answering machine

and on the answering machine, you find a message from "Them"

They called

and in a pleasant voice, They let you know that They want you to contact Them

well what in the sweet fuck do they want to talk to you about?

naw - you cant find out now - business hours is over

is it good news?
is it ever good news when They contact you?

or perhaps it isnt a message on your answering machine

perhaps it is a letter in the mail -- again polite, and very specific

They require this, this, this, and this

naw - They dont tell you why - They just tell you it is required

do you do that to other people?
would you do that if given the opportunity?

would you upset peoples digestion? and keep something looming on their mind?

do you want to carry the burden of proof everywhere you go?

whod you go with?
how much?
how many?
how long?
when was it?

any given moment with a brief weekend reprieve

when They are out of the office, and the mail doesnt get delivered

the looming threat specialists
keeping you safe and scared
protecting you with cozy blankets of worry

Or Kill Me / Themes (Notes)
January 02, 2007, 06:48:45 AM
Condensed version of some forum discussions around these parts over the past while (LHX angle):

*****

1. Regardless of how well you can talk big and back it, you will eventually be humbled by something bigger.

2. If you want something done, do it yourself.

3. While doing something yourself, dont be surprised to see other people working toward the same end.

4. Regardless of how good you are at saving things and keeping a reserve, eventually you will be forced to use everything you got.
Everything

5. a) no, you didn't ask to be put in this situation
b) no, nobody listens to anybody crying victim

6. a) if your motivations are right, nobody can hold anything against you
b) be prepared to be screw up as you try to translate your motivations into action
c) be prepared not to be able to define what 'right' is
d) be prepared to misunderstand and be misunderstood

7. A firm foundation and lines of support are enough to counter all instances of envy, greed, lust and hate that expose themselves.

8. Martyrs are not respected.

9. People who allow themselves to be lulled and stimulated into submission are not respected.

10. If you broadcast a perspective to enough people, eventually you will find somebody to oppose it; also, eventually you will find somebody who opposes it and effectively substantiates the opposing point of view.

11. Maybe Logic suggests the barstool might not be there; Occam's Razor suggests that you should duck. Or at least study Kung Fu.

Possibly more to come.
Possibly this list can be refined even better.

lmao @ 'possibly'

IT CAN ALWAYS BE REFINED
maybe even reduced to a single letter

upon focusing on the letter THIS ENTIRE LIST WILL COME BACK like a blossoming flower (<--- poetic imagery)

Although it is not quite the standard, there is no shortage of people who dissent against the status quo of developed nations.

A large proportion of people, as they go through their teenage years, develop a outlook on the state of affairs where they see that things are either not going right, or that things could be better.

There are some mechanisms in place to keep dissenters at bay. Although some of these mechanisms are blatant (punishment or confinement), some of them are crafty and subtle.

Most 'dissenters', 'anarchists', and 'subversive thinkers' are kept in line even when they don't recognize it. It seems that one of the keys to this is tied into the rewards system that gets established and impressed upon people as they grow up.

No matter how much a person is displeased with the current system, it seems that many people are still stuck looking for the same rewards that are only seen in the current system.

The voice of dissention that wants to be known when he walks down the street as the voice of dissention.

The guy who buys the Che Guevara shirt in the color that nobody else has.

It is not against the law to carry a sign and holler in the street. It may be fun and look cool.
But, the truth is that carrying a sign and hollering in the street accomplishes approximately nothing.

In short, the person whose motivations are personal gain within the status quo rather than personal gain by changing the status quo is doing nothing but shooting himself in the foot. Possibly even the kneecap.

At the end of the day, the system stays in place - likely even stronger due to that person's contributions.

That isn't to say that the path toward A Better Tomorrow,Ñ¢ isn't thankless -
Although you may hear words of encouragement as you venture forth, and although people may make you offers that put you in a better physical situation, and although the insightfulness you develop may make a woman's panties moist, and although little kids might look up to you and want to be like you, these things should not be your motivation.

As long as they are your motivation, the Powers that Be,Ñ¢ have everything they need to dangle a carrot in front of your face. And even though you may not be afraid of them - even though they won't have you on the run - they will still have you chasing something.

As long as they can make you move, they will make you move. Jumping through hoops and making compromises that result in you coming up short in the long run.

You will never shake that feeling of lack, except for short periods of time.

That emptiness will linger.

If you see that things need to be changed, then change them. Don't get comfortable just because somebody tossed you a treat when you showed them a better trick.

It seems that one of the biggest stumbling blocks to making progress in occult studies is the tradition of mystery (or dare i say mahdjgickque?).

We have all but dismantled that aspect of the occult here.

What is the key understanding to accomplishing this?

Does it need to be understood that the occult words and symbols came after the things that they are describing? That they are a part of a process rather than the cause of a process?

Does it need to be understood that a card pulled from the tarot sheds insight on a situation rather than [i/predicting a concrete outcome[/i] of a specific situation?

Ive been taking a look at these occult systems lately - and it seems that they all aim in some way to re-create the universe we are living in - they allow you to take a 3rd person perspective on the situation that you are actually participating in

and the resulting insight is the thing that seems magical, but in reality is just a very useful insight

some people genuinely try to make progress in studying the occult, but there arent many resources available that deliver the raw goods (not many that i know of at least)

there is a lot of people making a lot of money by writing books and confusing their readers

The bigger group tries to get bigger, while the smaller group struggles to survive and not get exterminated.

When the bigger group exterminates the smaller group, it suddenly implodes on itself creating XXXXXXXX smaller groups, most of which quickly learn what it was like to be the smaller group that had just been exterminated.

Everything settles down.

The techniques that had allowed the last of the previous small groups to endure as long as it did will eventually allow the new small groups to thrive in what seem like heavenly circumstances.

There are not many small groups left.

This here is one of them.

It will be exterminated one day, but it wont be all bad.

Recently got into a discussion that tried to jolt idealism into the realm of reality regarding how people would ideally live together.

'Co-exist peacefully'

Suprisingly (or not) the technology that has developed on the internet seems to be the ideal method for communicating in this type of 'real/ideal' situation.

(Depending on whether or not you see the bulletin board technique as 'new', or just a new version of something old)

Here were the general principles (series of agreements):

Agree to:

- to never come over without being invited

- never to set in motion a process that results in any unnecessary disturbance in your vicinity (sirens, alarms, explosions, etc)

- unless otherwise requested, all communications will be placed at a 3rd party location, and will be placed there with the understanding that they may never be retreived or responded to

- never ask for a favor

- make available anything that i have an abundance of for you to use or not use as you see fit

the knee-jerk feedback has been 'there is no way to enforce those rules' which is true - it would require some notion of a different kind of justice doled out by something else in some form

the other knee-jerk reaction was 'rules arent good' - which is true
but it seems that disrespect for others is worse than having to agree on some basic rules
- also: i dont really see any lack of freedom in this scenario

if anything - it seems like these agreements fit into the whole 'do as thou wilt...' situation which seems to be the correct dirtbike to be riding thru the wilderness

seems to follow suit that if people made those type of (respectful) agreements, nobody would trip over anybody else

it lacks a certain element of romance, but people are creative

so please - take aim and blast some holes in this

is it that outlandish?

is somebody going to bring up the 'humans are animals and cant live like this' argument?

Or Kill Me / Part 331 - All Good
December 12, 2006, 09:55:42 PM
Different people look for different things at different times.

If you are living in comfort, you aren't looking to become more aware of your environment.

They came up with that saying "no news is good news" for a reason - if you're feeling good now, why jeopardize it by learning more?

Who knows what lurks around that next corner?
That next piece of information you pick up could carry some bad shit with it. Perhaps a looming threat. Perhaps word that your the end of your plush days is near at hand. Perhaps word that the things you are doing now are going to come back and bite you in the ass

Fair enough.

Different people look for different things at different times.

We have developed shells against hearing about alarming trends or flaws in how we approach our lives.

Most of us aren't directly responsible for the misfortunes of others, so the ability to detach ourselves from people experiencing hard times is understandable.

We aren't the ones in charge of making the decisions about how the world uses its resources. We need to get from point A to point B, and we have limited options how to do this.

Our diets and habits have carried us this far. We feel healthy and stimulated. If it ain't broke, let it be.

Conspiracies are prime-time now. Saving the environment is big business, and they still use paper to print their flyers. Why would you want to join those flawed causes? It's easy to tune people out. There is no perceptible evidence of the climate changing, and even if there was, determining what it would lead to is nothing more than a guess at most.

The entertainment we are provided with is varied and there is a lot of choices. Women will peel their clothes off for you over the internet, and they build machines now that give clitoral stimulation.

Those are all valid observations.

Nobody can prove you wrong.

On paper, you have everything you need, and the world you are living is working for you right now.

Your future: that's looked after, too.

Insurance, baby.

If anything bad happens, you get to cash-in for the estimated equivalent value of your loss.

So there is no such thing as loss - because you get the cash equivalent back. See how that works?

Different people look for different things at different times, and in a nutshell, you have it all wrapped up.

Congratulations.

Let us know if your situation changes and you want to talk.

Don't worry - we won't be mad at you.
#121
So after years of whatever, this is the best I can come up with at this point:

The 'Secret' of 'Life' (or however you want to refer to this experience) is this:

There is a 'flow of nature'
You can temporarily disrupt this 'flow of nature' and send it in a different direction (other than how it was moving before).
When you do this, it gives you a temporary illusion of control.
Eventually the pressure builds and pops whatever it is that was causing the disruption and the flow of nature is restored.

This can be repeated or not depending on how you feel.

Ill prolly refine this later.

Enjoy.

Please feel free to bash or dismantle.

Think for Yourself, Schmuck! / The Fear and Desire Loop
December 06, 2006, 04:40:52 PM
Talk about Black Iron Prisons

on the one hand people are scared of the unknown

on the other hand people are chasing illusionary goals

this cycle perpetuates itself as people run away from what they fear and run toward what they desire, never escaping or fulfilling except for in short-term stimulating experiences

meanwhile, the unknown has done nothing to warrant it being something worth fearing
and it has already been established that everything we could possibly want/need is well within reach on this planet

the only way out of that loop is to eventually be crushed by it

You need to use the vocabulary of your audience.

Ciphers lead to segregation.

UNLESS
you produce something that sounds SO MUTHAFUCKIN DOPE

that heads will feel it regardless of whether or not they can understand it

but even so:
if your objective is to get your point across
if you dont use your audience's lexicon, you are just as well off (perhaps better off) just shutting your mouth and maybe taking a rest
or go for a walk
or some such activity.

Or Kill Me / When Good Gets Too Good
December 03, 2006, 11:59:32 PM
One of the pillars of growing up in the modern day Fairy Tale life is the notion of 'following your heart.'

This seems to correspond roughly to following hunches.

Follow your hunches even in the face of adversity.
Follow your hunches when the people around you are heading one direction, but there is something telling you to head in the other.

But what do you do if 'following your heart' consists of going against the very system that advised you to follow your heart?

LOL

Go ahead and ask them.

It's fun to hear people back pedal.

"Well, that's not exactly what we meant, honey."

In the Fairy Tale books, they didn't put stipulations on the whimsy.

"Follow your heart unless it entails dismantling the destructive society of which you are a part. If that situation arises, please stop following your heart, and just follow these simple rules..."

Oops.

I read something somewhere some time (for some reason I think it was McLuhan) that detailed the notion that it would be eventually calamitous for a society to raise their children with images of super heroes and then expect them to obediently ease into a button-pushing desk job.

How are you gonna grow up admiring those figures that didn't go down easy, and then end up being the type of person that goes down easy?

LOMFL

WELL...

I guess liquor and drugs help snuff this out.

The curse of resilient able-bodied youth works against a lot of people, as there seems to be a constant 'do it tomorrow' mentality - WHICH DOES MAKE SENSE for the most part, until (- again LOL -) KABOOM all the caffeine and cigarettes and fast food turn a person into a soft, neurotic - albeit sharp-witted - person with little agility.

These elements help break people down into becoming the type that go down easy.

That's beside the main point here.

The point is that there are situations where people will advise you to go against the advice that they themselves gave you.

Yeah, read that again.

They will give you heroic advice today - that age old wisdom.

The rallying cry.

But sometimes a person is a part of the problem that the wisdom would seek to alleviate.

giggle giggle giggle

Irony

On the old 'do as I say, not as I do' mentality.

People get into these situations.

The student finds out that his teacher was in the thick of all the bad shit that he was preaching against.

The student loves his teacher, but...

There is another side to this - the exploration of 'when does somebody know they are really right, or if they are just nuts'

This is the territory we get into when we talk about people with a subversive point of view 'becoming organized'

"What makes you so sure you are right?"

Well...

Perhaps its not so much a matter of knowing when you are right, but being in a position to react when you recognize that something is wrong.

The days of being able to 'get away with something' are coming to a end - even for those who are either ignorant of their misdeeds, or seek to cover them up by preaching words that sound right.

That goes for me too.

If you see me doing wrong...

Please, by all means...

srsly

August 2006: In the wake of the PD.com forum crash, and riding the strength of the PD06 exploration, The Discordian Network forum developed.

Originally a forum that RWHN had registered and was toying with, it developed into the center for the discussion aimed at fleshing out the philosophies presented in and related to PD, as well as compiling new Discordian material to be broadcast or distributed.

It was kept free of nonsense for the most part, and though it had been predominantly quiet in the weeks before it died, it had developed into a useful resource.

The highlights from the TDN forum:

- The general continuation of PD06 matters that were started in this forum
- this includes BIP affairs
- A renewal of SSOOKN investigation and development and a inventory of related writings
- Further probes into linguistics and the nature of communication
- Recent discussions regarding the nature of technology and robotics

Maybe this latest forum crash can serve as opportunity to take a look at where we are at now after that surge from April/May to August.

Opportunity to gather some stuff together and see where the 'We' stands at this point, as a vague collective in the process of doing a vague something.

Comedy
Philosophy
Spirituality
Technology
Bar Stools
Symbolism

The slaves get treated bad to the point where they would rather be bought than kept in the holding grounds any longer.

The suspicion is that after they get bought, they will be taken to better grounds and get treated better.

So they get encouraged to turn on each one another.

See - that dude over there - his posts are wack. He got a big ego. You don't want him on your team.

That dude over there - he's all talk and no action. Plus I heard he makes noise when he sleep.

She's a drunk. You don't wanna pick her.

That public appeal be the slave master that got people jumping through hoops now.

This is the only situation that could cause people in the same situation to turn on one another.

Instead of collaborating different points of view, dudes wanna kill the next motherfucker that says something different.

A strange program got uploaded into peoples heads: it says "If people listen to that motherfucker, then they ain't gonna listen to you. Then he is gonna get taken somewhere better while you stay stuck here."

Seriously - thats what the program says.

So now these motherfuckers be trying to mame you from the knee down, then take your best shit and step on your head while they run past you to claim it as their own.

That's the best type of slave that help keep this system in place.

Dudes buy into the illusion of greener grass on the other side SO MUCH that they will beat you AND take your shit AND tell you its your own fault AND try to sell it back to you after (maybe after a little re-packaging) in order to try to grab that thing that isnt even there.

Not only that, but motherfuckers will even listen to what you say, and they are smart enough now to twist your words and make it sound like you said the opposite.

One dude be like: "I'm here to help"
next dude be like: "Yo you hear that? He's the devil and he's gonna fuck your wife."

Literate Chaotic / Letting People Fend for Themselves
November 30, 2006, 04:08:49 PM
What is the problem with letting people fend for themselves?

Why do so many people develop that 'heroic' tendency to swoop in when there is a perceived injustice?

For me personally, when I see somebody drop money or a credit card, or if I see somebody dent a car and then speed off - I don't do shit.

In fact, I am liable to keep my eyes on the dropped money and try to swoop in and grab it if nobody is looking.

BUT

When I see people being personally and needlessly interfered with - a woman on the bus getting harrassed by a drunk, or a kid getting his ass whooped by bigger people, I can't stop myself from stepping in.

Personally, again, there is a deference between a person being directly and unnecessarily interfered with that prompts me to action, whereas anything to do wiff property, or anything that is the result of a person's own ignorance, I am more than content to sit back and let nature take its course.

What brought this to mind was a discussion I had recently about what 'justice' would be like in a society with no laws.

There is a difference in situations that I can't exactly describe in words.

But it has something to do with the difference between
a) people being disrupted or preyed upon unnecessarily
b) people walking face first into their own trouble
c) letting grown people have the opportunity to fend for themselves
d) letting nature take its course

Any thoughts on this?

(Postscript: also possibly related to this discussion: sociopaths who have no feeling of attachment toward anything)

this fuckin sentimental nonsense

like there need to be a particular day where people take a 'time out' from demolishing the planet to get nostalgic about family and eating food

motherfuck

thankful that the Powers That Be,Ñ¢ give me just enough room that i dont yet have a excuse to wreck shit wiff impunity and say 'i had no choice'

no
but for truth

if i had to pick something that i was thankful for it be like:

thankful that i can see its only a matter of time before bad shit crumbles
and that there is good things thats enduring

thankful for a network of people that are working toward putting this process in motion

a network of people that provide enough re-enforcement to keep plugging away down this path

thankful i have contact with people that dont cry victim despite having been thrust into a unenviable situation

aight yo lets hold hands and sing now

or maybe go be thankful for some food that grows without effort
and manages to still grow despite our best attempts to fuck it up and accidentally kill all known life

Literate Chaotic / She Tried to Swallow Me Whole

Bitch

I'm telling you yo - I was just minding my own business and day dreaming.

She acted like it was nuthin.
Hollered from across the street. Called my name out. Signalled for me to cross and come talk to her.

On some 'haven't-seen-you-in-a-while-how-you-been?' tip.

Fine, thank-you, miss.

I was about to tell her she looked lovely as ever, but I noticed something was off today.

Not nothing in particular. More like a bunch of little things that when you added it all together the sum comes out to 'trouble'.

Trouble.

Check out the short-comings of the written language.

It was more like

TROUBLE[/glow][/shadow][/b][/i][/u]

If yall were watching this on a tv episode of a show called 'The Adventures of X' or 'LHX Walks the Globe', yall would be like "NO X GET THE FUCK OUTTA THERE'.

But still, you need to understand: it was early. And its one thing to be in the thick of it, and another thing to be on the outside watching.

And if you saw the way her ass was pokin out in real life, yall might have not been too quick to pick up on the signs neither.

I was dressed in what became my standard issue ever since they kicked me out when I fell asleep at the library. Beige pants, wallabees, dress shirt, beige Kangol. That way, I can still fall asleep at the library, but they don't kick me out because I look like I might be able to get them fired.
No jewels on.

In a span of a short period of time, she told me the following:
1. Her man was gone.
2. Her kids was at her mom's.
3. She had some good weed.
4. (After I told her I ain't smoked in over 2 years) She don't smoke much anymore and is gonna quit.
5. She was gonna go back to school.
6. She had been practicing yoga for a few months.
7. She was about to inherit some $$ from a recently deceased relative.
8. She was thinking of doing some modelling.

I also seemed to be picking up some signals from her chestal and groin region.

I told her about the internet, the Annunaki, UFO's, Yacub, and a little bit about Discordianism, but she thought I was kidding.

I think she wasn't really listening to what I had to say.

Even though I am a man, that hurts a little.

She asked me if I wanted to come check out her new place. There was invisble forces kicking me in the back of the knees (which I have come to find out that she was responsible for), but I still managed to say no.

Then she said she was about to do some cooking, so I said yes.

If you were to do a study on this situation, your likely conclusion would be that this is the point where the story ended.
Like how when you are playing chess, and you make one wrong move and then the other person has complete control the rest of the game.

She stopped to get a coffee on the way back to her pad. While we were there, she went to the washroom.

The perfume she put on fucked my head up, and from that moment on I could no longer think straight.

Like Lex Luthor was dressed in disguise and he slipped on a kryptonite ring that Superman didn't notice.

I'm not saying the perfume smelled good. I'm just saying that the fragrance fucked my head up and I couldnt think straight.

They don't test that shit on animals any more because it would kill them. Now it kills us.

I hate perfume.

As soon as the elevator doors closed at her apartment building, she began consuming me.

If a outsider was looking at the situation, maybe he would have thought some hot liquid had somehow spilled in her panties because of the speed at which she got them off.

It was shortly there after when I had a moment of clarity, beyond the reaches of her perfume, that I noticed she was trying to consume me.

And I realized that she wasn't actually even gonna cook anything.

Her apartment was clean, but the fruit in the fruit bowl had gone bad.

In a last ditch effort, I reached deep down and tried to come up with some final defense. I managed to blurt out that I had just remembered that I had a appointment that I couldnt miss.

She said 'what kind of appointment?'

I don't remember if I answered.

Yo I ran across a quote today while I was reading a book by Vonnegut:

Quote from: VonnegutFrom Hocus Pocus:
...profanity and obscenity entitle people who don't want unpleasant information to close their ears and eyes to you.

Please weigh in on the above statement from 2 angles:

1 - understanding how unpleasant 'Truth' can be as it is revealed, what are the implications of the above statement?

2 - what does it imply in terms of the approach you would take to communicating to an audience?[/quote]

A man by the name of Terrence got into an argument with three men in his neighborhood and it escalated into a fight. Terrence took a beating at the hands of the three men, and returned home.
Upon returning home, his wife said to him, "Haven't you forgot about the matter of death?"

"Definitely not!" he replied.

His wife then retorted, "At any rate, a man dies only once. Out of all the ways to die - disease, traffic accident, getting struck by lightning, or being hung - to die after having suffered a trail of humiliation would be a shame."

The wife left the house.

She soon returned, carefully put the kids to bed, got out some flashlights, dressed herself in dark clothes after nightfall, and then said "When I went out to survey the scene a bit earlier, I saw the three men go into one of their houses to drink and watch television. Now is the right time. Let's go quickly!"

So saying, they went out with the husband in the lead, carrying flashlights and armed with knives. They broke into the place where the three men had gathered and dispersed them; both husband and wife slashing about and killing two of the men and wounding the other. The husband was later sentenced to a life sentence in jail with a possibility for parole after 25 years.

we are experiencing a era of accidental killers

The Machine,Ñ¢
The System,Ñ¢

in a effort to control
it kills things that present problems and seem unnecessary

problem is - things dont really seem to die

they just go out of sight
underground
they get a lid put on them
swept under the carpet

where they develop strength - if for no other reason than by numbers

like swelling

and learn to come back in different forms

us here on the surface -
us here in The System,Ñ¢ -
we were born into this situation where we were taught how to -

1 - kill more things and do what we can to keep them dead
2 - carry the weight of everything that ever died by ignoring the fact that we killed it

AND TO BE COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS TO WHAT WE ARE DOING

examples -
bug spray
weed spray
anti-biotics
cigarettes
pasteurization
rat poison
mass production
tooth paste
driving cars
etc
etc
whatever

so now
here we are
6.5 billion people who have been taught a way of life that kills things

we are struggling to keep them dead
and all the meanwhile - carrying the weight

the pressure

LMAO

fuck that

but
after having come across the above quoted comic today
i now understand

we live with the experiences and looming threats of all of the above things - political religious fascism

and
i guess
ultimately
we cant really be held responsible for the interpretation of the things we write

ohhhhhhhhh no no no

if only it could be that easy

see - they,Ñ¢ capitalize on fear

so
we all walk around with this mortality

this fear of death

and it gets drilled in at an early age that death is the worst thing

as long as you arent dead - things are okay

right?

the powers that be,Ñ¢ count on this

they count on the fact that as long as you are not faced with imminent demise
they,Ñ¢ can still work you

and they,Ñ¢ will work you

it is not in their best interests to kill you

everybody is scared of jail
but
i guarantee this -

they,Ñ¢ would rather reform you
and have you come out and be productive
than they,Ñ¢ would for you to shrivel up and die in the slammer

the determining factor behind 'medicine' has NOTHING to do with your well-being

it has everything to do with maintaining your ability to be productive into this destined-for-collapse society

and the reason why they,Ñ¢ dont immediately X-out anybody who isnt productive
is because they,Ñ¢ know it would scare the shit out of you if you were to see crippled folks get slaughtered with reckless abandon
so
they,Ñ¢ keep them alive so the ruthlessness isnt quite so apparent

we are dealing with the smartest and most savvy opponent imaginable

as long as there is even the smallest window that will ensure your survival
the powers that be,Ñ¢ KNOW for a fact that they dont have to worry about you doing anything dramatic

when something goes where it does not belong
death ensues

this is becoming a place where things dont belong

slowly
our paths for survival are becoming more and more narrow
and
in the mean time
more and more people are discovering that there are fates worse than death

stay tuned
