Cops and Military play by different rules. They all have rules. They don't necessarily follow them but if you know what the other guy has in his head it's an advantage. Knowing is half the battle, the other half is actually hitting the guy with your laser beams.

... which is a GI Joe reference for the soulless NSA shithead reading this thread and trying to build a case on me.

Aneristic Illusions / Street Actions Thread

Yo nerds. I'm gonna be in on a lot of these might as well keep it organized.

Went out to holler at the anti-choice dicknuts on Saturday, partially for the reasons on the tin and partially to feel out my Current Capacity since we're all 8 years older and creakier than we were last go round. Went well, recruited appropriate supports, tapped out when I needed to tap out, got mouthy at a cop and told a bunch of cunts to suck a dick.

Core improvements I've made for myself: dedicated and competent buddy system; intentionally and aggressively expanding the ally circle early and allowing for more parallel play and less "all my allies are friends both with me and each other" errors; robust self-knowledge and acceptance of limits; properly calibrated hypervigilance; more complete understanding of the rules of engagement the cops are (supposed to be) playing by.

Happy to share strats, answer questions, scream at the void together. I hope to have some time for a diatribe on parallel organizing and diversity of tactics before too long.

Sound off nerds, who's not dead yet?

We get it.  You want Trump back.

Yeah, that's pretty much what she said when people were protesting about it at her rally too.  Since when is "genocide, but without admitting you favor complete genocide" the acceptable lesser evil?

There is no viable anti-genocide presidential candidate. Vote harm reduction for prez, lobby your senator and congresscritter, and engage in direct action when and where you are able to make opportunities. It's not either or.

Someone tore down a bunch of my shit so I got mad and made new designs and pasted them all up. Spite is an excellent motivator.

Also found out after I'd put up the new batch that my senator stopped by the Starbucks on that street and actually stopped to read one of the last batch! It was "Blessed are the Sensitive" and I am SCREAMING.

I have been Doing The Work, but I have not been doing it here or reporting it back because being employed full time is more of a time sink than I was really prepared for. Don't get me wrong, I love the job, it's just hours of the day I can't spend running around.

Near every page of Holy Nonsense has been posted around my town and many of the surrounding. I distributed a ridiculous number of pope cards at Boston Pride. I'm trying to get my shit together to do a children's unit on Discordianism at the local UU church. And it does bring me joy to see my seeds sprouting. Does it build community? Not in the sense that I'm getting people to join my cult, but it is making the neighborhood someplace that people expect art and self expression to be in. Unsterilizing the world is holy to me.

A better question might be how does this space become somewhere we can stick apart meaningfully. There were good old days where a lot more discussion and creation was taking place here. Enshitification hasn't hit us the same way that it hit places that Need To Appease The Shareholders, but I think we are all a little more stretched thin and have less time and energy to bring what we're doing back to the class. Or maybe we're getting old and new folks need to make spaces that we won't understand and can't participate in. I don't know. I do know I'm not dead yet and I'm gonna keep sticking things on lamp posts.

I do not, and I am too far away to be much use, but I would hate for a Florida or Florida-adjacent n00b to see this thread and think "oh well I guess I shouldn't because..."

Quote from: Sophia the Altered on July 13, 2024, 05:23:43 AMDo you think us Eristocrats can volunteer as well?  :)  :fnord:

Malaclypse the Younger, K.S.C., proclaimed, "We Discordians must all stick apart."

So, we as individuals can certainly volunteer. But, being the decentralized religion that we are, and the condition we are in, I don't expect to see any 'boots on the ground,' as would be the case with organized resistance cells.

Hail Eris!

Fuck that, go and do it anyway. The FSM people pass the religious sniff test and they have half the history and documentation we do.

Cops can be bastards AND occasionally act appropriately. These things are not in conflict. In fact, it's much easier for the system to perpetuate itself as long as there are people who are behaving correctly in difficult situations.

I don't like cops killing people, I don't like anyone killing people, I'm also not a virtue driven moron who thinks that no conflict is ever doomed to end in death, or that my enemies are incapable of making the right decision sometimes just because they make the wrong ones so often.

It's for Whole Foods, who is owned by the #1 company in Soul Crushing. Customers there also treat you like shit. I feel like I'm about to snap about every god damn minute.

Ah, yeah that blows some serious chunks.

Time is going by too fast. I'm about to turn 20 and have fuck all to show for it, Summer decided to fly by, and I have no idea what my next move in life is.
I really don't want to be stuck at this supermarket janitorial job until I die.
I guess not everyone gets to have fun, though. Somebody's life has to be a boring shithole.
And transes aren't allowed to be happy anyway

Defining yourself by what you do for money is your first mistake.
I mean yeah, but it takes up most of my time and pretty much dictates how I live, so it really defines my life at the moment.
The American Dream, baby.

I know folks in janitorial jobs who have great work/life balance and are extremely happy with their careers. What is it about your current gig that's preventing you from having that?
