Or Kill Me / Idealist scum

I don't know Cain, I think if there was no idealist in you at all you won't give a shit what happened to the UK political scene.

Or Kill Me / Idealist scum

Remember growing up?
Maybe you're still doing it now.

I remember talking to my parents whilst growing up. Jaded people who had battled, tripped, saved people from drug addictions, resisted a communist governement, left family behind and then settled into a cozy middle class existance. I remember hearing their proclamation of what was to come for me:

"You can cling on to your ideals when you're young, but when real life and responsibility come around you'll forget them, everybody does."

Well I refuse.

I refuse to put on a suit, paint my face on and shut my brain off.

And I refuse to accept that the people snearing at "idealists" as being just, well "idealists" know what they're talking about. Where would the world be without idealists? Where would we all be if some of us weren't willing to go mad fighting for the truth, for good, for empathy, for humanity, for the planet that makes our existance even possible.

Even if it is a Don Quixote run at the windmills, I'd rather know I fought than wake up one day to the realization that when you put your head in the sand you cut off your own air supply.

::gives What's His Name a standing ovation::

What you're saying is effin right on for a couple of reasons. First off, like you mention in the rant the world/life may be shit but we're still here. There is no proof that there will be anything to experience after we croak, so why not make the most of it? Even acknowledging that trying to make things better at all is like a sisyphian task, it's still better than burying your head in the sand and concentrating on getting a good collection of tupperware together before you croak.

And you're so right, looking at things as black/white, one dimensional is ridiculous. It is akin to believing the world really is flat.

But come on Buddhis Monk, evolution? Didn't the Jews bury the dinosaur bones?

Literate Chaotic / The Resounding Maybe

Very cool poem. You could interpret it a bunch of ways methinks.
When I read it I thought about the current Western cult of youth--which is ridiculous to no end because we all know it takes a lifetime of living to truly develop wisdom and perspective.

You split Darth in two. You better run before he puts himself together and unleashes the dark side on your behind.

::runs into audience beaming from ear to ear::

Enrico is back!!!!

::looks around at skeletons of what used to be rotting corpses of the audience::

It seems to me we need to kill some more people to fill these seats man. I mean look, this skeleton here only has meat left on its lower half. What kind of a corpse is that? And THAT one is starting to look like a mummy, what's this? Into Egypt with Enrico?

::proceeds to kick the non-smelly bodies out of the seats::

Looky here, there are baby flies crawling all over corpse in 4 row of audience. Cool!

Anyone not scarfed out and like aliens?

Here's a picky and pattern for an alien illusion scarf--illusion as in you can only see the aliens if you look at it from a certain angle. Kinda fun.

But Fred seems busy with world domination or somethings like that.
BGP should use the power of his Buddha nature to a)make Fred's world take over take less time so she can do the show or b) hypnotize Fred into thinking all has been taken care of and she WANTS to host the show.

::pokes head behind the courtain::

Wow, the place is empty. Even the audience is starting to stink less, decomposition is moving along nicely!

BGP would make a fine substitute host methinks.
And with that in mind ::does twirly dance:: WEEEOOOOO!

::runs off giggling::

Quote from: She Who Lurks Beyond, Oracle of DoomYou got it. I'm really getting the hang of this knitting thing.
After just two weeks, I've already finished two (count em - two) dish cloths.  8)

BUt not that THING in THAT pic up THERE?

hee hee, is it the THING with teh THING on it's chin? It looks...umm...unsanitary.

By the way SssBella I keep lurking in the MW knitting lessons and I've picked up quite a few things.  I've made two dishcloths too, they're red and black--the colours of our kitchen.
But I'm skipping the scraf project because now that LHX's scarf is finally done, I'm a bit scarfed out.  :D

Quote from: CainWhich song?  Chances are my sister has the album and I can rip the mp3s from her next time I visit.

Hmm...I'm not 100% sure because Virgin Radio hasn't updated their playlist online, but it seems to be "Because I Want You." I haven't heard anything about the album. After "Pure Morning" Placebo never really got a big hit here, I think they're going to be one of those bands that are huge in the UK but never make it big here. Like the Libertines. Actually, those guys would be an excellent fit for Into the Night.

This dance is in perfect time to "Right Here Right Now" by Fatboy Slim.

This dance is also in perfect time to the new Placebo song on the radio right now.

Edit: The Hitler Dance is even MORE perfect for the timing of the Placebo song.

If I saw that emo kid on the street I would make out with him, no lie.
Hmmm...maybe I'll just print out teh Fred's super awesome picture and make out with it.  :!:

::thinks we should make Fred North American prezitator so she can make awesome art for Canuckistanis too::
