The wheel? I actually tend to identify more strongly with the tower. Also the court cards, although being minor arc ana are actually the ones that are usually most strongly identified with people. Queen of swords is usually kind of matronly looking, which SPS isn't, but that's ok, get a picture of her sitting in a throne holdng up a sword and we'll be just fine.

Yeah, it's ALWAYS the card I pull for myself, even though I shuffle differently each time, and am super anal about mixing up the cards. Unless you aren't doing the suits I guess. If that's the case I can be the Devil. Since I like to tempt people (especially the ladies at work who are trying to lose weight. Who made brownies over the weekend? I did.)

I don't see why we can't have the same people on multiple cards. Perhaps we should focus on the trumps first and then work on the suite, simplify things.

I'd love to help with the little white book. I kinda suck at visual stuff, but my wife can probably do something pretty kickass as far as the tower goes. I might even be able to enlist her help on some of the others.
So far for spreads I have heard someone say the prolapse? The most commonly used spread is the Celtic Cross, Dunno if I can come up with a clever riff on that or not, I will think about it. I figure a 5 card spread is easy to come up with, and i might even be able to come up with something fun involving 23 cards. (maybe even the prolapse)

Then again, assigning these cards to perfectly match any of our personalities is fairly arbitrary at best. I'm usually reluctant to apply them to people directly.

So I went on a googling spree to find out the significance in the symbolism (as every single bit on every of the rider-waite set is symbolic for something or other), turns out nobody really knows for sure, but the most reasonable explanation I found was that the fish was symbolic for a secret, shared only between the fish and the Page. and the secret is "hahaaa I know why I have a fish in my cup, but you don't neener neener neener"
And that is just brilliant.
But then, I generally think Tarot is just hilarious.

I'd love it if the finished deck was actually usable, which would mean sticking with common (ryder-waite) terminology, and retaining the suits, or at least maintaining a consistency within the suits, rather than replacing them with whimsical and arbitrary suits. For instance, if we're going to have a Queen of Sparkly Pink Shit, then the ENTIRE SUIT of Cups should be renamed Sparkly Pink Shit.

Why limit ourselves to something someone else has done before. We can make our own, or just circle jerk by putting our pictures in someone elses work, the latter seems pretty dumb as far as I'm concerned.
I had asked about this a few pages back but no one said anything. Anything but a 100% PD deck would be lame, especially for what we're capable of.

Thanks for illustrating how reading back ten pages (or even one post) was too much effort for you.
A few ideas:
-Meaning and Terminology. Let's not waste time over the different meanings or names. We need one list of definitions that we all use whether we make them up from scratch or in synthesis with commonly held interpretations.
-Imagery. These should be based primarily on our agreed-to definitions. I would prefer we take the time to take pics that suit the card, then manipulate them to fit the meaning. These should also follow some guidelines for consistency and be purely ours.

Also the Trumps, although ordered, are not a suit in the way the four suits are, no court cards, and there are a lot more than 10 of them. They also don't need pips (the suit indicators, so, for instance the four of swords has four swords on the card) the way the minor arcana cards do.

Nast had Princess of cups. Just because things are at the same level doesn't mean they are the same. If we are going with Rider Waite face cards Nast has to be something besides a princess. Queen of Dildoes makes sense in my mind though.

My thoughts on TWO decks:
One with specific, original terminology, meaning, etc. This would have designs like the pereus' OP in this thread and that one of 000 with that joker.

One deck with random cards from random deck with our faces WOMP'd on 'em.

I am not sure if the projects are separate. I'm womping heads onto cards, and taking requests -- whichever of the projects wants to take whichever of the cards may, since I am not being consistent about decks nor sticking to one user per card. So, for any given card, it might not make it into either deck.
