McSally is kicking his ass everywhere except Yuma. I have some history in Yuma, and I can say with authority that they are the worst people in the world.
The better news is, Kyrsten Sinema has a better than average chance of kicking McSally's ass.
For a Blue Dog, her foreign policy positions are surprisingly sensible.
So, maybe not surprising, but DeSantis moderates a group (https://american-ledger.com/accountability/desantis-moderates-hate-filled-facebook-group-that-attacks-african-americans-parkland-survivors-and-muslims/) on Facebook that shares "racist, conspiratorial and incendiary posts about a litany of targets, including black Americans and South Africans, the "deep state," survivors of February's massacre at a Florida high school, immigrants, Muslims and, in recent days, John McCain."
And look who else is a mod for the group

Kelli Ward really is an idiot. She feels that Arpiao was too easy on immigrants, for what it's worth.
Jeanne Ives was also running in the Illinois primaries against the incumbent governor.
Interesting that all 3 should be mods on the same Facebook page. And that Jack Posobiec, special projects director of Citizens for Trump, creator of the DeploraBall and Pizzagate conspiracy theorist who has been retweeted by Trump on multiple occasions, also happens to be there.
This isn't at all alarming.

If they want to vote, they should quit lying around, start paying taxes, and work for a living like everybody else.

Is this relevant to midterms? Idk. Didn't seem worthy of it's own thread.
I live in Florida, and I came back to the boards for this thread.
Kemp equates his opponent running ads to him actively throwing away ballots:

The problem Kemp has is that Abrams is encouraging Blacks to vote, and he does not believe they can handle the enormous responsibility:

QuoteThe mood was alternatively festive and angry. One minute, members of Bikers for Trump were dancing to songs like Can's "I Want More," re-recorded with pro-Trump lyrics, and the next minute, a woman with long blonde hair who said only that her name was MJ was yelling at the top of her lungs about "the f------ Jews."

QuoteRepublicans are trying to prevent a manual count from happening, asking judges to stop the count and impound Broward and Palm Beach counties' vote-counting machines.
I think what puzzles me the most is that they used a Can song. I mean, that's pretty obscure, plus their lead singers were a black man and a Japanese man.

I think they rather get a charge out of that very thing.
Ok, I did some searching, it apparently was covered by a lot of people, as recently as 1998. That would increase the odds of someone knowing it.
Plus, the lyrics didn't age that well.
The midterms are still not over. The contested representative seat in Utah has gone blue.
And then this happened.

He was apparently himself a pretty decent civil rights activist type back then, according to what a quick google tells me. So he's also shitting on his own legacy. Thoroughly unpleasant person it seems.
Can someone explain the power grab in wisconson to me?
1. Wisconsin used to have a GOP majority. They did their level best to set up unbreakable gerrymanders.
2. A democrat won the Governor's seat.
3. There is a month-plus wait for the new Governor to be sworn in.
4. In that interim, the existing GOP-led state legislature is trying to push through new rules and laws stripping the Governor of some of his powers.
Fucking hell, can that be blocked or undone once the governor takes his seat?
It's not clear if the new incoming legislature would have the votes needed to overturn the rule change.

So basically they lose the seat so they gimp the position until they win it back and then restore the power? I've never seen this kind of thing done so openly, are they desperate or do they just not care. Has trump normalised this kind of behavior?
Sort of. The GOP has been doing stuff like this for a while with the gerrymandering, which had previously been effective enough they didn't need to go this blatantly. North Carolina did something similar a year or so ago, and then there's always Kansas.

Yes.
Logical extension of their approach to gerrymandering, IMO. When you don't accept the opposition party as being legitimate, you can take any steps to prevent them from seizing power - or doing too much with that power.
Yeah. In the past, they didn't have to go there, because historically, dems didn't really give a shit about the midterms which meant standard gerrymandering/voter suppression maintained GOP control. But now that the Dems have started winning, more drastic steps must be taken.

This was attempted in 2007 by the GOP when the dems won the house.
