Wraith was pretty close to how it was described but I'm probably the only human being alive who actually enjoyed Wraith.

I guess Hunter was pretty close to how it was presented too, but really, who played Hunter? Anyone? Didn't fucking think so. And all the fun shit was Lost Creed shit anyway.

Sometime we should chat about my system I've been working on, Cram. I have just started to get to the crunchy bits, but the high level stuff I've been working on is very very much a different experience than power fantasy (and it's more than theory, the structure is built to encourage it). Even when you parse power fantasy generally enough to catch spy shit in the mix. I think you'd have good input on some of the concepts, too.

That's all true, but Rifts is also bar none the most irritating system I ever smashed my head into in the wild. I'd rather play Shadowrun 4e, no house rules, with someone who only knows how to run old White Wolf games, than spend ten minutes in Rifts ever again.

Sounds like bullshit, but if you apply the "3 year rule" Cain posted above, the latest we'd be able to see right now is about 2015, I think?

Would like to note that 2009 is probably interesting, since on the date in 2016 you mentioned, he said it was /still/ being audited. So you want to ask him the latest tax returns he can release first so you can corner him properly.

I mean I'm not a huge D&D fan but ... like, you could be playing Rifts or some shit. And it's hard to convince any random group to play anything but D&D or Pathfinder, d20 isn't an innately terrible system, and simplicity has its value?

And although some OSR systems definitely go too far, mistaking genuine stupidity for a good thing lost over time, the ones I've seen tend to be on the good side of that line. They aren't for me, but I'm sure they'll end up inspiring things that are indeed for me.
