'He was arrested for meth, but the crumbs in his car were Krispy Kreme doughnut glaze'

"An Orlando man was charged with possession of crystal meth with a gun, but a state crime lab proved him right — it was actually glaze from Krispy Kreme doughnuts."

It reminds me of the time, during my misspent youth, when a Navy master-at-arms tried to bust a couple of us for possession of a pan of brownies that he thought was hashish.

"Man arrested after cops mistook doughnut glaze for meth gets $37,500 from Orlando"

QuoteThe City of Orlando paid $37,500 to a man to settle a lawsuit after police officers arrested him for what they thought was meth but was actually tiny flakes of glaze from a Krispy Kreme doughnut.

Daniel Rushing sued the city after a field test incorrectly showed he had drugs and he was arrested and taken to jail.

I'm surprised Mr. Rushing settled for so little.

On the next episode of Law and Order: Orlando, an unassuming lab worker is arrested after getting caught swapping drugs in the evidence locker for flakes of Krispy Kreme donut glaze.
