Two vast and trunkless legs of stone / ATTN: FRED
April 01, 2008, 06:31:07 PM
Fred I can safely say you have never been born of the Spirit of God. Just because you practiced religion for a while and decided God was unfair and quit doesn't mean He doesn't unconditionallyl love you and wishes you would give your life to Christ now. But until then you are person in the flesh, and not of the Spirit. An enemy of God and a soul that has no purpose in this world. Empty, dead, poor, blind and naked! That's you! Now go to Jesus!

QuoteThere's this one scene in a Simpson's episode that I've always loved. It features Snake, the stereotypical criminal, in the exercise yard at a minimum security prison. Homer drives by in Snake's old sports-car, which he bought at a police auction, and which he's now abusing quite badly. Hearing this, Snake decides to escape and rescue his car. He walks to the gate, and opens it and walks out. It's unlocked. All it has was a sign that says "NO ESCAPING PLEASE" on it. Snake exclaims: "Screw the honor system! My car needs me!" and runs off. Kearney, who is working out nearby in the exercise yard sees this and yells out: "Hey, you're ruining it for the rest of us!"

Ok, here's my first proper rant, it's taken me several days to write this, and I still feel like I didn't say everything I wanted to say, but I don't want to spend a month trying to get that right :p

I'll be posting this elsewhere hence the funny sign off.

Tell me what you think.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Friends, Neighbours, and most importantly, enemies, lend me your rationality.

I have urgent news for you.
There is no war on terror. The terrorists have already won. Correction, they won a long time ago.
When? When you stopped questioning authority. If you ever questioned it in the first place.

Oh it's probably not your fault really. You were suckered into it from a very early age. A victim of the conspiracy.
You were told to respect your elders, to listen to what they say.
First it was your parents. Then it was your teachers, your boss, your leaders.

But who ever told you to question what they say? Certainly not them. It wouldn't work in their favour.
Your elders demanded complete unquestioning obedience, of course, it was 'for your own good'.
You may have asked questions initially, when you had a million questions to ask about the world, all in innocence.
But it would get to the point when you were told to do something, and you asked, "why?" the response would be, "because I said so", and that would be the end, and you would do it.
Soon enough, you'd be conditioned to do things upon order, without wondering why, assuming it was for your own good.

And this mode of thinking passed on... of course, you were encouraged to ask questions at school.
But really, you were only allowed to ask the right questions, the wrong questions would get you into trouble, or would get ignored, or they would provide you with an answer that you didn't understand, or perhaps was only half of what you really wanted to know, or should have been told.

This created gaps in your rationality, things that on the surface seem to make sense and are complete, but if you were to scratch off the surface and dig a little deeper, you would find that there is a lot of scrambled information.

Were you made to stand up at school assembly, have the flag raised, and sing the national anthem?
Have you ever thought how that has affected you up until this day?

Are you a patriot? Why?
Because you were told that your country is the greatest, and that you should love everything about it, and if anything or anyone threatens the things you love you should be ready to fight and die for it?

Do you respect your flag?
Is it because you were told that flag is a symbol of the greatness of your country and all the freedoms you supposedly have, that your elders died fighting for?

Does it boil your blood when you see someone burn that precious flag?
If your answer is yes, then let me guarantee you one of the first statements made: The terrorists have already won.

For I say, that flag is a symbol, a symbol that represents much more then most of us were told to believe, and that symbol is full of corruption.

It represents the unquestioning love of the country and those who live in it, and the the unquestioning obedience to its leader.
Or the complete ignorance and ability to hate countries that are not your own and all those who live in it, and the complete ignorance of the biased intentions of its leader.

It represents the sense of identity of who you are and your past, that your ancestors used it to show that this land was theirs.
Or the lie that your identity and past depends on that flag being there, and that your ancestors stole the land from the original inhabitants.

It represents something worth fighting for, the freedoms that your ancestors fought and died to protect.
Or the illusion that is worth fighting a meaningless war, and that people who fought for your freedoms should be respected and therefore to show disrespect towards the flag is equal to disrespecting those people, when really, if you don't have the freedom to burn your flag, is truly disrespecting those who died for it.

The flag is NOT what it represents. The flag is a piece of coloured fabric, and is only anything more if you personally see more in it.
The people have forgotten this. The people have lost their way. The people have stopped thinking, and let others tell them what to think.
They let their emotions get in the way of rational thought, and have been fooled into thinking that the menu is more important then the food.
The flag is NOT you. The flag is NOT the people you love. The flag is NOT the country. The flag is NOT your freedom.

So called patriots, WAKE UP. A true patriot would burn their flag because that's the freedom you're supposed to have, that you claim you love so dearly.
If you really think that someone burning "your flag" is an insult to all those things, then you have let the terrorists win.
That's right, YOU.
In fact, when you start to campaign that flag burning should be illegal, then YOU have become the terrorist.
YOU have taken away the freedoms from the people you love and the country you are so proud of, and most importantly, yourself.

When it gets to the point where a flag is burnt, and no one cares, can we say that the world is on its way to winning the war on terror.

Please note: There are rumours of people going around, burning flags, of their own country, and other peoples countries, and that they hate YOU and everything you love.
These people don't hate you, or the country, or the people, they hate that you think a flag is more important then the real problems we have in this world.

Also note: If flag burning is not yet illegal where you are, I suggest taking advantage of it, piss off as many people as possible, and if they ever bother to ask you why you are burning their precious flag, you can tell them.
"I'm trying to make flag burning illegal here, because I love the flag that much".
(Also, it's not "their flag." You bought it, you own it, it's YOUR flag to do with what you want, right?)

Or Kill Me / The Zenarchist Un-manifesto
July 19, 2007, 11:23:29 AM
I come from the void to be thrown into this ocean of chaos,
to dance and sing, love and hate, to journey and explore, laugh and cry & to rest + die.
I do not know what is right or what is wrong, but I know what hurts.
I know there is no one who truly understands the universe better then I, and I know I know so very little.
The authorities are so very sure, and I am so very confused, yet I smile contently while they are grey-faced.
The religious tell me that I am a sinner, I tell them if that is true, then I blame god.
The government has lied, cheated and stolen unto me, and so I do unto others what has been done to me.
I am a zenarchist, looking for other zenarchists, are you one?
If you are unsure, you probably are.
I wouldn't know a zenarchist if I were staring at one in the mirror.

This is going to be for a blog entry- can I get some critisim/mittens before it gets added to the carnival of anarchy?

Updated: ok I think i got rid of all the spelling and grammer mistakes... :P

----

Me having a taste for "collecting" all sorts of obscure religions, have come across one that I have found in particular quite intriguing.

Most likely, you would have never heard of this religion before, as it caused many headaches for the orthodox church during it's time, and most records known and kept about them are from its competitors, it was a religion practiced in greek, understanding of it is minimal, and much of its history has been lost.

Here is what little I have come to know about this fascinating religious sect of Christianity, mostly taken from wikipedia and painfully edited (heavily) by myself so that you, dear reader, can skip all the crap and get to the juicy stuff, so you don't have to spend as much time as I did wading through background crap.

The name of the movement was bulgarus in Latin (meaning "Bulgarian") which included Paulicians, Cathars, Patarenes and Albigenses. It became boulgre, later bougre in Old French meaning "heretic, traitor". It entered German as Buger meaning "peasant, blockhead" (and went on to English as bugger) and the French term also entered old Italian as buggero and Spanish as bujarr??n, both in the meaning of "sodomite", since it was supposed that heretics would make sex (just like everything else) in an "inverse" way. The word went on towards Venetian Italian as buzerar, meaning "to do sodomy" (anal sex between men). This word entered German again as Buserant and went on to Hungarian as buzer?°ns, becoming buzi around the 1900s, which form is still in use as a sexual slur for male homosexuals.

History:
Bogomilism is a defunct social-religious movement started in Bulgaria, and at the essence of Bogomilism is belief in duality in creation of the world, and it is for that reason it was considered a "Heresy" religion, the first significant Bulgarian heresy which appeared around the first quarter of the 10th century.

It came about as a reaction to the state and clerical oppression, and stayed popular until the fall of Bulgaria at the end of the 14th century.

Discontent in the peasantry due to constant wars, changes in authority and higher taxes made people leave the lands near the Greek borders of Thrace.
The Orthodox church was (even more then usual) corrupt, and failed to console the people.
This social discontent and presence of older christian heresies such as Zoroastrianism, caused creation of Bogomilism.

It was started by Priest Bogumil, though it is unclear if he took his name from the sect, or gave his name to it. (Bogumil literally means "father" in Bulgarian though, which is why it's hard to tell).
Bogomils undoubtedly connected so called "heretical" ideas of east and west religious sects.
They sowed the seeds of their rich, popular religious literature in the east as well as the west.

Doctrine:

Their beliefs were heavily modified from the from orthodox christian ideas, and in their doctrines, many things were seen differently.

They believed in adoptionisn, that is, they denied the divine birth of Christ, Jesus Christ was born a human, and reached divinity later on through the grace of god.

They claimed miracles performed by Jesus were to be interpreted in the spiritual sense, and not as material occurrences.

Bread and wine were not seen as the flesh and blood of Jesus.

Images of the cross and veneration of the saints was seen as idolatry, and therefore breached the first commandment.

They rejected the personal co-existence of the relation of the son to the father and holy ghost.

They rejected the validity of sacraments + ceremonies, and refused to venerate Mary as the mother of god.

Baptism was only practiced on adults, they completely loathed baptizing infants.

It was explained that St. Paul had taught that simple minded men should instruct one another, so they elected "teachers" amongst themselves to be spiritual guides and had no special priests.

Each community had its own 12 apostles, and women could be part of the "elect", the council of "wise men".

Prayers were to be said only in the privacy of their homes, and never said in shared buildings such as churches.

Marriage was not seen as sacrament.

They did not fast on Mondays or Fridays.

Their account as Satan (or Satanails as he was known by them) was that he was the eldest son of god, who tried to create man, and all the world he lived in, and had to appeal for his father to help with the spirit of life. Satan was seen as the originator of the orthodox community, churches, vestments, ceremonies, sacraments and fasts and also of monks and priests.

The world being the work of Satan, those who seek to be "perfect" should shun away every excess of pleasures, but did not go so far as preaching asceticism, they did not renounce worldly pursuits to devote their life to spiritual work.

Their doctrine rejected everything socially created, and does not come from the soul, the only divine possession of a human.
Therefore, the established church, state, and hierarchy was totally undermined by Bogomilism.
Followers refused to pay tax, to work, or fight for their state. The entire social system was overthrown, which on its part suggests disorder and propels the destruction of the state.

Conclusion:

So, with all these traits Bogomilism has, you can easily see this is one of the earliest incarnations of a religion which basically I would dare say be the closest thing to Discordianism, a religion filled and the result of Zenarcy.
I would imagine that if it hadn't finally died off around the 15th century during the crusades and such, and had spread more and just been accepted instead of hated and stamped out, we would be living in a much more enlightened world today.

There is the (extremely) rough overview of this fascinating little sect of Christianity, there still is a bit more to know on them, but you should just go and find out more for yourself, it's what the internuts is for.

Or Kill Me / Discordian ideals?
May 21, 2007, 02:43:48 AM
Ok, I posted this as a reply in apple talk, but I realised a moment later that I just typed up a great rant, so I'm reposting it here for good measure cus I haven't actually yet provided a rant to this great section and I'm working on trying to upstage TGRR ;)

Yeah, Umn, hellooooo, we're DISCORDIANS HERE.
You know, ones who are not under the authority of the authorities...
Like, we make up the rules as we go along, and realise that politics is simply a 2 man con made to only truly benefit the politicians and business' that fund politicians campaigns.

There is no real definition of the discordian movement. We are the great collection of whatever the fuck we wanna be, we are the religion with a punch line, we are the TGRR's, and the AKK's (Sorry, but you know it kinda does have to be said).

Fuck definition. Fuck the left wing hippies and fuck the right wing religious conservatives, fuck the law, fuck morality, fuck poverty, fuck business, fuck socialism, fuck capitalism, fuck marxism, fuck the monarchy, fuck despotism, fuck everything, no system is ever perfect, if you stick to an ideology about the way things should work, and all you can see is that, then you miss all the opportunities to rort that system that's around you.

If there's something you want, TAKE IT, don't whinge about the fact that you don't have something, figure out how you can get what you want, just be fucking SMART about it.

A discordian is just as likely to wave the flag of establishment as they are to wave the flag of anti-establishment, a discordian can say that we as humans should fuck technology and money and just go back to nature, and that would be right, a discordian can say we should take advantage of the stupidity of humanity and capitalise and grow rich, and that would also be right.
Discordianism is whatever works for you, as you find it necessary, so that you can live your life the way you see it fit.

And discordians can completely disagree with everything I've just said, and yeah, they'd be right too.

The only real sin you can commit in discordianism is to speak in absolutes about discordianism. DID YOU SEE WHAT I DID THAR?

Posted here because of this- http://concordiamovement.blogspot.com/2007/04/getting-to-them.html
and have reason to believe this is the most likely place he'll look.

Just wanted to say, I think your blogs friggin genius dude. In fact, my blog has links to your blog.
IMHO I think it's a good thing to ruffle the feathers of the discordian movement with such "critical" thinking of the discordian movement.
It really surmises the point of "think for yourself, schmuck".

Keep it up, it's great for the lulz.
And no, I'm not new to this disco thing, far from it, I've been a discordian for so long my mind has had it's third eye torn open, and I can see the humour in everything.

Whether your serious or not (I'm pretty sure you're not, but your writing style is very persuasive to even give me a shadow of doubt) I don't care, you are, whether you realise it or not, doing the discordians a favour by drawing attention to how much they do take this whole thing seriously, and that any critical analysis of it sends them into a gaffaw.

I am of the mind that I think that handing out flyers that say "Kill all discordians!" on the street is something discordians SHOULD do, one thing some discordians forget is, smart and enlightened discordians make fun of ALL religions, including their own.

So, no matter what you have to say next C.S, I KNOW you are a "true" discordian, I mean, come on, your name is a dead give-away. Frank Zappa referance.  8).

Anyway, keep up the good work. If you want to keep up the charade, don't bother mentioning this on your blog. Or do, I'm curious to see how you can lampoon this post ;)

Love, Light + Chaos.
(and btw, I post comments to your blog on a semi-regular basis, just not under this name;)

Or Kill Me / A comment on feminism
April 02, 2007, 09:54:39 AM
Ok, so this has been ripped from somewhere else, basically, it's a comment on my thoughts in regards to feminism, and I'm interested in what you guys (And gals... doesn't seem to be a lot of you here though :P) think of it.

I've been reading some stuff on stanselen's blog actually, and followed a few links to feminist writing.
Personally, while I understand why feminism is here, I don't actually understand it too well. I think that some feminists are a bit loopy, (coming from someone who prides loopiness, I think this says something...) and have some wrong ideas about what starts what.

I really haven't looked that far deeply into feminism, so I honestly can't comment too much without giving a biased opinion, I mean, I'm all for equal rights and all but I just don't buy into the "patriarchy" crap, men and women both have it fucking tough and both have their advantages.

I'm not going to start ranting about what I think is wrong with feminism, because honestly, I haven't looked too deeply into it. (But thats not to say that I haven't had a bit of a dabble, and from what I have dabbled in, I get very mixed feelings about the logic of it... some I can sympathise with where its coming from, but some just make me think "where the hell did they come up with this crap?". No offence meant, but that's just how I honestly think)

I've met a few feminists in my journies, many of whom were quite cool, and could happily converse and discuss interesting topics, with both parties taking away something new from each other, but I've also met a few... pardon the un-P.Cness of it, but i feel it kinda has to be said, "Feminazis", that won't give me the time of day to talk with them on a "devils advocate" level because I happen to have a dick, and so they actually *scare* me a little, because they go on as to why male capitalist thinking is evil and wrong, and won't really listen to reason, because by default, all I have to say is inherently "wrong" in their eyes, and I get worried that if I try to rationalise with them I might temporatily lose the functioning of a body part I'm quite fond of....

So, don't get me wrong, I don't *hate* feminism, I just have trouble understanding it and where they're coming from with certain trains of thought.

Me personally, have felt that I've always treated women right, and have had relationships with girls who were victims of rape, of whom they were way more kinkier and hornier and watched more porn then I do, it kinda confused me when I first started having relations with a few girls, who not long into the relationship, would admit to me that they were victims of abuse... and then ask me to spank them and call them filthy whores and bitches, which personally... I find a little strange...but whatever makes them "happy" I suppose.

In anycase, I still have a bit to learn in that area, but from my own personal experience and understanding of the female mind, (which is by no means perfect but I feel it to be better then most males understanding of women, this has been confirmed to me by quite a few female friends, I don't want to come across as tooting my own horn, but thems what I honestly thinks is true...) personally, my area of expertise is more in the religious doctrines of the world, which I'll happily rant on about what exactly is wrong with it, cus I have plenty of ammo there, but I'm not going to declare war on feminism because I really don't know enough about it.

Personally, I'd like to talk to more feminists and try and work this whole thing out once and for all, and I can see one of two outcomes if my suspicions are correct, and that being that I could possibly start a viral meme into a rethinking of the feminist agenda, or I'll realise how perveted and sick I've been to be a male and opt to get a sex change in tailand.

Now, I hope this comment has been "neutral" and "reasonable" enough for any of you ultra fems out there reading this, try not to hate me for questioning the value of feminism and being a guy, I'm merely expressing what I feel as a "neutral" observer. I've tried to be as honest as I can without intent to offend, but, as past experiences with some of you lot has taught me, theres just no pleasing everyone.

Love, light and chaos, bitches!
