Really, my experience is quite similar. Where we differ, my fan boyism waned at movie 5, but came back with all the hype for 7 and 7.2. I'm excited for Pottermore and want to visit the theme park one day,  and I'm soon going to start on the Stephen Fry audio books. I may be hooked for life after Sir Stephen's read to me :S

 I'm going to show a couple of them to my friend who's a published poet. I'll put them up after that if I can muster the courage.

Honestly, it sounds like you've done more thorough research than I have. I was looking at the Nook Color to do what you're thinking of doing with the Kindle Fire. If money wasn't an issue I'd get something that could support the latest Honeycomb.

My character is nearing completion, if people are interested in what I've come up with I can post the character sheet.

I had a gander at the Kindle Fire, they're pretty cheap. There are others on the market at around the same price that aren't as locked down though. Have you looked at any of the comparison tables that are about?
