Though I may have often been wrong, my heart was always sincere.  So I could not sincerely accept that 100% of the mistakes made were my own or that 100% of the claims made about me were 100% true.  If that is a fair benchmark for an apology, then I regret to say that I cannot pass that test even today with any sincerity.  This made for a stilted and awkward apology, with ill-considered attempts at humour, but I meant it sincerely.

So yes - while all this mattered deeply to me four years ago back when I thought I still had a chance to keep control of the forum I had invested a significant amount of time and emotional energy developing - I subsequently moved on to other things and got over it.  I'm not looking to start old fights.

But I've been told that my continued presence here depends upon my actions, so I'm testing the waters with this thread - if the intensity of the feelings evident from before are still present, then I won't waste any more of your time since my presence could only cause disruption.

This is the story we have here - disgruntled admin, recently fired, uses backdoors he carefully nurtured to undermine the security of the site, leaking confidential data.  Caught because he bragged about it on internet forum.

1.  You and I both know that Docktor X isn't me, because I'm not in Toronto, and "he" isn't using a proxy.  You, however, ARE in Toronto, and the 3 votes in your favor are you and your two sock puppets.

2.  You persist in this lie, among others (IE, the Fomentor business), and lack the cojones to talk to me about it directly.

3.  The above being the case, I just wanted to let you know that - as of now - it is now too late to repair the situation, period.  From this point forward, my only motivation with regard to you is to wreck this board and make you as miserable as possible.  This is not a temporary situation.

Folks, I cannot run the site when Roger has told you very definitely that I've been mucking around with his posts, and that I'm an untrustworthy liar.  Not only has he crippled me - safely, because I have no recourse to prove my innocence - but he's set up a handy precedent to troll the fuck out of EB&G if I remain there.

That's not going to happen.  This ends today.  I'd like to think that Roger will do the right thing and admit that he lied and manipulated all of you, because I like to believe in the best of people.  But if he does not, my faith in that will not be shattered, just my faith in Roger.

Unless Roger admits that he is lying about his accusation that I deleted a bunch of his posts, then I'm quitting EB&G and Discordia altogether.

I got banned.  WTF?  I haven't even been on EB&G except to watch this drama unfold and quite some time ago to ask Bella's advice on making money as a telephone psychic.

I'm gonna throw in with the people saying that it's looking like Church of Google.  I'd been remaining neutral, but pre-emptive bannings is pretty bad.

You were banned on 2010-12-29.  No reason given.  I've lifted it now, since I see no reason for it being there.

Of course - I didn't have any admin access to EB&G until this year, so it was not a pre-emptive banning.  I'm not quite stupid enough not to know what retribution any banning would entail.  Dan might still have a backup of the database which could verify these facts if you care enough, but I'm content to let it go for now since in light of Rogers accusation, this is small potatoes.
