Due to flooding fears, officials in northeastern Pennsylvania are calling for a mandatory evacuation of communities along the Susquehanna River — an area that was inundated in the historic Agnes flood of 1972.

The order affects more than 100,000 residents.

Luzerne County Management Agency official Frank Lasiewicki told The Associated Press Thursday the river is projected to crest at nearly 41 feet between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET Thursday — the same height as the levee system protecting riverfront communities including Wilkes-Barre and Kingston.

Great article, too bad it will get swept away in the rush of the other reporters defending themselves.

This is why you should vote Ron Paul.  He's all about Letters of Marque.  I bet I could convince him to give me a Letter of Marque to fight Prince Phillip, if I put enough libertarian lunacy into the letter.

Also, Katia is on direct route to Scotland, but will probably just be a very large storm by the time it arrives.  Besides, no-one would be able to tell if a hurricane had hit Scotland.  "Oh, its wet, windy, rainy and people are stocking up on food and boarding up their windows because of a tropical storm?  I thought it was an Old Firm match".

Well Khara, something stinks here now, and it's not you. I don't know why, but blindly accepting that his account was hacked feels wrong to me. If it was he would have correspondence between himself and facebook over it. I guess I would like to see some of that.

As I said, I haven't been in this thread since the begining until today so any requests you made in this thread I did not see at the time.

If it were a fake "Mah Fnord" account then it must have been made before yatto's because it/they/he was on my friend list. So the fake Mah Fnord friended me weeks before the incident.

I don't remember what the name of the location was on the link sent, all I know is when it was clicked on it went to porn pictures.  There was another link to videos.

If it is in some archive somewhere I don't know, I delete messages at my Facebook page.  Frankly I'm surprised that is not a habit for everyone, but then again I'm a lot more paranoid than most.

I keep mine wiped as well.

Like I said, I don't care one way or another.  I know what I received in my inbox.  I know what facebook account I reported to Facebook.

It was actually my child who opened the porn, not Stella's, not sure how it got all changed around.

But since Nigel and Phox are willing to vouch that yatto was framed. Hey who am I to argue.

I didn't like the fucker before all the bullshit.  I see no reason to change my mind now.

So, my 2 cents on what I've read here and to make sure a couple of things were clarified for the record!

Wait, you were actually porn spammed?

I had all kinds of whack assed shit from the Mah Fnord account over a 2 day period.  Links to porn sites, videos all kinds of weird shit.  I reported the account to Facebook.  I didn't even know Mah Fnord was yatto until other people started saying something.

It was discussed, at the time, at length here at PD.  I just do not have the fucking patience to dig thru 500 pages of yatto links.

I wish there was a way to backtrack that.

I'm sure Facebook has some kind of record.  It's been too long to be in my email trash.

Like I said, I didn't like the guy before, nothing that has happened is going to change that.

Understood, it would just be nice to know who did it is all.

I had a reply typed up to each of the places you quoted and replied Cram but I lost it to electrons somehow.  Basically, what LMNO said.

I know we're all "the police are always the bad guys" here in Discordia but if it's called in by another citizen, it's their job to check it out.  If it throws up certain flags, it's their job to forward it on for a follow up.

uhh I am definitely not in the "police are always the bad guys" camp.

One of my best friends is a cop. That's part of what makes me sensitive to shit like this. ((A few months ago he pulled over a guy "because it was my birthday and he had a really nice car and I was like what the fuck, I drive a piece of shit, whats his deal?"))

If you're protesting something, a lot of cops don't really care what the issue is... they've already put you in the same mental category as those annoying college kids they love throwing on the pavement.

I think we need law, I'm glad it's there, but I also think we have to be extra sensitive to the chilling effect it can have on free speech and democracy. I mean, in lots of countries they prevent real protests by having a bunch of cops show at the up first. The cops don't need to beat anybody or anything. People show up and they know what side everybody's on.

Yeah, that was a pretty broad brush stroke. I'm not in that camp either.

In other news, Pulitzer Prize winning author Cormac McCarthy was visited by the LAPD today after one of their detectives read his 2005 novel The Road.

The Road depicts a cataclysmic post-United States North America wherein a young boy and his father attempt to survive.

Police arrived at the reclusive author's southwest residence to ask whether he intended to produce a cataclysmic event or other terrorist activities.  The author calmly explained that a world where a fucking painting of a building is alarming is probably too alarmist, and whoever didn't laugh the call off entirely needs to seriously re-evaluate their ability to make a solid judgment.

Detectives following up with Mr. McCarthy promptly shot him for his radical views.

I still talk to them sometimes. They've already made it clear that they don't want to talk about it anymore.

I believe it happened. There's no solid proof that Yatto did it and it's possible it could have been CU or someone like that. Can't prove Yatto DIDN'T do it, but you can't prove a negative anyway. So Yatto gets a reprieve.

From what I have gleaned here, there is no proof that anyone did it. Of course they don't want to talk about it anymore.

don't get me wrong, I hear what you're saying LMNO and agree that it's likely the case. But I can't figure out how I'd distinguish between unobjectional SOP and the cops trying to discourage people from expressing populist rage towards banks.

If Chase Bank were painting a picture of me on fire, I'd hope some plainclothes detectives followed up on it.  :p

They painted a picture of you homeless and standing in a soup line. No one investigated.
