Oh, for sure. But someone should push him into a locker and beat him up for his lunch money.

Agreed. The rhetoric around this attack has been highly disturbing. Rather than disassociate themselves from the attacker, popular commentators have outright defended his actions and tried to justify them.

Twitter's probably going to end up being the Radio Rwanda of this too, when it happens. "LibsofTikTok" published information on another act in Colorado mere hours after the first attack, the implication being clear, "do them in too". With Musk dropping all protections for trans people from the platform (with deliberate malice in mind) there's going to be a concerted online effort to radicalise people who are already on the edge of violence.

This will not end well.

That is admittedly bragworthy. But yeah, regardless of origin it does seem like the kinda dumb thing Musk would be into, or pretend to be into to impress The Cool Kids (why he thinks Nazis are cool kids is also a discussion worth having)

I'm pretty sure it actually comes originally from PUA circles (though given the PUA/manosphere/toxic gamer culture overlap that's not saying much). Some of the older guides definitely talk about having a "prop" to initiate conversations with people.

Oh, I have something good for you. https://twitter.com/Palle_Hoffstein/status/1594371817107505154

Sweet merciless Goddess.  He's making the kinds of mistakes I would expect if someone was promoted into upper management fresh out of college.

He seems to think that because Twitter is HQ'd in California, California labour laws apply globally.

Which is, uh, an interesting legal interpretation, as my solicitor friends would say.

You should have at least held out to where he turned up to your house with his own sink.

This is the equivalent  of gamer culture where they get a cowboy hat, pipe or other prop to carry around with them, desperate for someone to ask about it

Oh yes. Given how many of them are fans of declaring things "cringe", so many of fans somehow don't see this behaviour as absolutely cringeworthy.

There'll be a vote on it.

I heard he'd institute felchies for $8

If Nazis cared about logical contradictions in their worldview, they wouldn't be Nazis.

American Conservatives: They're so inspirational.

We do set the standard others can only dream of achieving

...the US President?  I've been told that inflation is the fault of the Trudeau administration, together with the Governor of the Bank of Canada.

Canada is a myth invented to sell ice hockey.

Inflation couldn't possibly be a result of global mismanagement of a pandemic resulting in massive supply chain disruption, or anything. No, the people in charge did it on purpose to stick it to the poor.

Sounds sus.

What on Earth makes him think the GOP will get prices under control?

Well you see, conservatives in countries like England have had great success in reigning in inflation, unlike Sleepy Joe.

Because it's definitely a personal failing on the part of the US President that is driving global inflation, and not wider systemic issues.

I can think of smarter plays than "I'm going to sign up pretending to be a perma-banned persona from the largest social media website in the world", but then your stalkers have always been special.

He's pissed off the half of the party that still have holiday homes in reality. Sunak, who is one of those, noticeably banished him to the back benches, because the man's not only malevonent he's useless, even by current Tory party standards. Putting him in power would be even worse than Truss.

Plus, remember, this was an MP stitch-up this time around, and not the party membership. The party membership are insane, which is why they wanted Truss. The MPs actually have to worry about re-election, which is why they rallied around the more moderate and competent candidate, relatively speaking, while everyone else stood down. The candidate they can actually potentially not get wiped out in a future election with, unlike Truss or Rees-Mogg. Sunak did have glowing profiles written about him for his Covid budget measures, after all.
