In some ways they have even been worse than the US in confronting thier history on that.Gonna argue that. Most Americans still believe the Native Americans were finally happy when we put them on reservations.
Canada took a long time to examine what they've done, but afterwards don't seem to try to excuse it.

Even if we assume the people interviewed are lying, and there's a lot of them beyond those two articles, disability advocate groups do seem fairly united in their criticism from what I can see?
Have you looked at the actual text of the law as it is and the proposed expansion?

If I didn't know these two so well, I'd assume that someone strapped them to a chair in front of a Tucker Carlson show (he has gone from screeching about this to "liberating Canada" in the last few days).
The remaining Koch brother and shitbags like Tucker Carlson and the Fox News daytime programs have put a lot of effort into this exact subject.
If you listen to them, Canada is opening death camps to dispose of unemployed people, elderly people, the mentally ill, and LGBT folks.

It's not being weaponised against trans people specifically yet, but there's a lot of disabled advocates speaking up on it. It'd only effect me at the point I couldn't look after myself... But that also happens to be the point where I'd be out of other options.

Canada has this policy for people who are terminally ill, or some other condition that cannot be reversed but causes misery, such as advanced MS, etc.
I personally don't like it much for a bunch of reasons, but I hardly think it's targeting trans folk. This is Trudeau and parliament, not Victor Orban.
