So I decided to go with Verwirrung instead of the PD.com soundtrack, mainly because that way if the 23ae crew, POEE etc want to download it they wont feel left out.
So here we have album one, Creative Disorder. Basically a collection of the most Discordian artists I could think of, or tracks in terms of name or content. The download is 93.7 MB and is in mp3 format. More mirrors will be forthcoming.

This looks awesome, Cain! Thanks for putting it together!
Wooooo!!
very, very cool! :mittens: !
I'll turn them into a torrent once i get all of them (cause i don't suppose people will want to download the separate ones, except to get them ASAP like now), how many volumes will there be? five? :fnord:
There are probably going to be 8 in total.
Yeah, I've got a lot of tracks. I might cut it down to seven...I'm trying to sort the remaining tracks into some sort of thematic arc, bu since they are leftovers, well....
Thanks for this the tracks are great! I was wondering if there would be any RATM or NIN. :D
I'll be honest - I actually hate Zack de la Rocha and want to punch him in the face for inspiring 13 year old Anarchists everywhere, but mostly for having an annoying voice.
You sir, Win. :mittens:
Whatever. I say he tastes like sunshine dust. But then again I also like Type O, so there you have it.
Is it too early to start making fun of some of the songs?
LMNO
-Thinks RHCP started to suck after Hillel died in the 80s.
[edit] By the way, thanks for doing this, Cain. I'll buy you a drink next time I see you.
They did.
But that went in because of the various accusations of sex magic and ritual sacrafice carried out by world leaders (who are all members of the Illuminati, dontcherknow). Blame Alex Jones. Actually, thats good advice regardless of any situation.
I was pretty sure some Killing Joke would have gotten in there. Dark Forces, Implant, Loose Cannon, Total Invasion, etc etc
But I shall be patient.
More albums are forthcoming, with Killing Joke tracks.
While I'm not a fan of all this stuff, it's pretty cool to finally hear the stuff all y'all spags keep referencing.
Also, Cain: Your ++SMUG levels must be on the rise, if for nothing else for coming up with those album covers.
Yeah, I'll agree that not all the tracks will agree with everyone...but hopefully most will.
And yeah, doing the album covers is the fun part. 8)
Ok... I can honestly say that the Disturbed cover of "Land of Confusion" is one of the worst things I have ever heard.
You probably would have been better off with the original.
:lulz:
I wasn't sure how deep the loathing for Phil Collins went...and besides, the track would have required much more editing, since it was interlaced with Spitting Images soundclips.
Heh. I also like how you called the Love and Rockets track "Balls of Confusion".
Without editing mistakes, everyone would think I was having an easy time putting this together.
Right, I'm going to upload album 3 later today, and album 4 at an unspecified time later this week.
HOORAY!
Later today = after I have slept.
Which will probably make it tomorrow for me, or very late tonight for Murrican-spags.
Whatevs.

- i love those two album-art pictures, but but they aren't in the package? (Amarok would show them as album art, which would be sweet)

EDIT2: w00t! I is amazing. I figured it out. Downloading 3rd soundtrack nowz.
PS - CAIN ROCKS!
i'm starting to get really addicted to this soundtrack. it's good music and interesting because it's a lot of styles i don't regularly listen to. i have the first three albums on shuffle at my work now (didn't have time to transfer the other two, this morning before i left).
one thing i found when looking at the latest album a bit more closely, is that it's 89 minutes in length, all the other ones are all 80 minutes or less, making them potentially suitable for burning on a CD which have a maximum length of 80 minutes. i thought i'd just point it out.
and another question, i remember that there was some resistance (from LMNO?) to Genesis's "Land of Confusion", can someone explain why Disturbed's cover is better? cause so far i just hear louder distorted guitars and "AARG AARGH" screaming between the verses ;-) or maybe i'm missing the point and am too much of a sucker for 80s synthesizer pop :)
... hm, seems that wikipedia may have part of the answer: Except for a different style of singing and rock-styled driving pace, the only difference between the songs would be the bridge, replacing Genesis' synthesizer with a guitar solo, and the lyric "and the sound of your laughter" with "in the wake of this madness."

To be fair, I think we know this to be true regardless of missing the point or not. Still, despite my former days as a fan of loud angry music (lol, like that ended), loud distorted guitars and "AARG AARGH" screaming is never something I've gotten used to.
-Eve,
not helpful. :)
Trip, my resistance was to Disturbed's cover. The original is not bad for what it's supposed to be, socially-concious 80s pop music.
Disturbed's cover didn't add anything new to it, which pretty much underscores what kind of band Disturbed is: A wannabe, me-too, aping late-90s pop metal group that doesn't have any original ideas of their own.

[Quote added so you don't have to go looking for it.]
I would also say that as cool as the Love and Rockets version is, we should throw the original Temptations' "Ball of Confusion" up there, too.
ah i see. and Ball of Confusion is another cover or is it what Genesis based their song on?
"Ball of Confusion" is a 70 Motown track by the Temptations, later covered by Love and Rockets.
"Land of Confusion" is an 80s Genesis track, later covered by Disturbed.
It's confusing, no?
The Genesis version is way better, no contest. And I think that would be a good song to be covered by a metal band, I mean a real metal band, not some kinda-metal band like Disturbed. I also think the Genesis version isn't quite the same without the Spitting Image video made for it.
Myself and Johnny Cash would like to issue a joint statement in response to these slanderous charges.
Cain:
I was going to put the original Genesis track in. But some people (who shall remain unnamed) came to me, saying Genesis "sucked" and that "Phil Collins deserves to be brutalized by a group of faux-rappers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoLB_U0YPOg)" and that "the stupid British drummer should just fuck off" and the like.
And so I was prepared to take it off, only the first group then complained again about this gross violation of their inalieable human rights. And so, you got the compromise option. And of course it sucks. I much preferred the original myself. But it was an intractable situation, and so you got the shitty solution which pleased no-one, while appearing to appease both.
Johnny, would you like to add something?
Johnny Cash:

Mr Cash makes a very good point.

other suggestions:
- Delete Yourself! [You've got no chance to win!]
- Redefine the Enemy

and, i just realized, i can simply replace Land of Confusion by the original in the copy of Verwirrung i have on my own harddisk!

i saw "Burn after Reading" last weekend--great movie btw, typical Coen Brothers c********** (word removed because it's mentioned somewhere near the end of the movie and IMO pretty much sums up the entire story, those who saw it will know which word i mean hehe)
ah anyway, there was this awesome track at the credits: The Fugs - C.I.A. Man (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hW9cCWm53H4), and i thought it was funny and awesome as hell, so i'm recommending it for any next installment of Verwirrung that Cain likes to put it on.
Haven't been able to find a higher quality version than the youtube-rip yet, and the track doesnt seem to appear on the OST itself.
I'll consider it.
My comp is having major fucking issues right now, and I cannot guarantee I will be on much until I can get a new power cable sent to me. Unfortunately, this has fucked up a number of things, not least my attempts at NaNoWriMo, which are now close to nil.
damn your nanowrimo got lost?! that sucks!!
No, not lost.
I was behind, but I was going to use this week (where I have little going on, compared to previous weeks of illness and travel) to catch up. However, my power cable, from years of abuse, is fraying at the connection point and only charges my laptop if held in ludicrously difficult to achieve positions. Understandably this makes writing hard.
I have managed to glue it, for the moment, into something approaching a semi-useful position, but I cannot say how long it will last. Since I have job applications to make, I'm concentrating on those, since there is no telling how long my comp will be useful for.
I've ordered a new power cable, but it could take up to a month to arrive (thanks, Amazon! Then again, at least you stock it, unlike the actual company who makes the damn things). Hence, I'm maximizing my time to get the things done I need, at least until my replacement gets here.
Either way, it has fucked me over no end. I really cannot even afford to buy this, but equally I cannot afford to be without a computer, for job hunting.
that's still pretty shitty. probably a dumb question, but did you try duct-tape?
Oh yeah, I tried duct tape, electrical tape...so far the best thing has been a joining compound for stopping leaks on hose pipes (of all things). That's held it in place, but I dare not move it from the kitchen table for fear of disrupting it again.
So I'm in a better position than I was, for the time being. Still pisses me off though. Everything Hewlett-Packard make pisses me off. Next time around I'm getting a Toshiba, no excuses.
I hate the whole laptop-power-cable racket. It actually makes me angry.
Desktop computers all use the same power cord, more or less, and have for at least a hundred years. They are so ubiquitous that spares materialize in your closet of their own accord.
Laptops, on the other hand, are part of a vast conspiracy in which each laptop HAS IT'S OWN UNIQUE POWER CORD, which in all cases costs more to replace than just buying a new laptop.
It's a fucking cord. A FUCKING $175 CORD.
ASSHOLES.
Mine is fortunately only £20, but I remember discussing this with you yesterday. That's actually a good point about PC cables...mine are so fucking thick it would take wirecutters to get through to them. And thats with a pretty strong guy working them too. Those things are made to last for ages...whereas my laptop's one is so flimsy I was actually afraid of breaking it well before this event happened.
And for some reason, my payment was rejected. Which is strange, since I managed to take £30 out of the bank today
Crisis averted - for some reason they did not have my new card details, but instead the one I cancelled back in April. I have not been put on the Amazon Debtor's Gaol List yet.

Yeah, that's another thing... they're unique to your laptop, overpriced, and basically designed to break. Fuckers.
sometimes i get the feeling lots of companies forgot the concept of replaceable parts.... but then i realize that they did not forget but screw you over on purpose.
