Title: [GASM] Robotic High Weirdness by Mail
Post by: Cramulus on May 24, 2009, 03:02:31 AM
(http://ne0nguy.com/antidrug/Weirdness_by_mail.jpg)

This is a multi phase plan which will generate and send weirdness by mail to random people in America. After the infrastructure is set up, it will run autonomously for all time, requiring no effort or upkeep from us.

This requires a wee little bit o botwork from you tech nerds, if you're hip to it.

(http://ne0nguy.com/antidrug/phase_one.jpg)

--Golden Apple Corps develops weirdness-by-mail.
There are two types: Letters, and postcards.

All the files for this weirdness (images, pdfs, text files) will be tagged via delicious with [RWHMGASM] (which should really confuse RWHN). NOTE PROJECT NAME SUBJECT TO CHANGE WHEN WE COME UP WITH A SLICKER CODE NAME.

--we set up a paypal account and teach the bot how to check it

--the bot also gets an e-mail address and an account with POSTFUL (http://www.principiadiscordia.com/forum/index.php?topic=18694.msg620862#msg620862). This allows it to send snail mail whenever it can pull a buck (for a letter / PDF) or 52 cents (for a postcard).

--When we turn it on, and there's a few bucks in the account, the bot will pick a random address. It will generate weirdness by mail based on stuff tagged via delicious (this allows us to change/modify the set later very easily). Then it will mail a letter to that address. The return address is an office in California, there's almost no way to trace it back to us.

(http://ne0nguy.com/antidrug/phase_two.jpg)

So how do we get money in the kitty to fuel this weirdness bot?

Well obviously it can take donations. If you donate five bucks to it, you're guaranteed that you just made three or four people's days a little bit weirder. But that's not self-sustaining. So...

We generate some sort of media or product that people would want to buy. It might be a communal-property resource that we already have. For example we can use lulu or magcloud to sell hard copies of the Black Iron Prison, postergasm packs, or a new project. The profit goes into the paypal account, which is in turn fuels the bot to drop surreal moments into random stranger's lives.

There's probably a way to connect an adsense account to a paypal account. If so, if we can insert a url at the bottom of the hardcopies and a site explaining the initiative (with an ad or two at the bottom) it can probably be self-sustaining just by having some of the confused people visit the URL plus whatever impressions we can get from random wanderings.

Alternately, we compile a bunch of the high weirdness into a book-sized PDF and sell it on cafepress with all the proceeds (arbitrary markup) going directly to the paypal account for the mailings.

maybe a few of the hardcopies could have a url, but generally I'd want to avoid giving the recipient a neat answer to what they just received.

maybe it could be a password to get into that hidden discordian party page we set up. (the one with no way in)

What kind of Weirdness By Mail do you guys think would be fun for our hypothetical robot to send?
Title: Re: [GASM] Robotic High Weirdness by Mail

At the top: a weird/funny picture with a completely unrelated memebomb in a big font

As the body: a selected Verwirrung blog post or an essay (I think almost anything used in Intermittens should be up for grabs, but we should also look for stuff we haven't used yet). Probably kinda short; long ones might be hard to fit.

At the bottom: something signature-ish. Long and narrow, like maybe a cut-out moustache or something like that (interactive fun!)

AND/OR

A piece of paper with a heptagram (7-sided star) in the center and some wonky madjiqual symbols, with instructions to perform a completely bogus Discordian ritual.

EDIT: I just realized that this involves creating and laying out something ourselves, rather than having a bot pick it up and mail it. Whoops. :oops:

Could a similar but separate bot + merchandise system be used to promote the ARGGASM?
Title: Re: [GASM] Robotic High Weirdness by Mail

that's a really cool idea - involving people in an ARG without their knowledge.

maybe not best for aporia

but once we've got a working bot, I like the idea of finding ways to engage people in weirdness by mail

maybe we can send them CODED TRANSMISSIONS which point them at a hidden message in the Principia Discordia. (Instructions for your mission are found within)

or we could use some cold-reading techniques to make it seem like a secret organization has been monitoring them, and has selected them for service

I like this.

It'd be like spam, but not, because people would participate in arggasm just to figure out what it is.

yeah... the game IS finding out about the game

by going on the internet and looking up some word or phrase we give them, they are taking the first step. If WE control the info they're searching through, that IS playing the game, not looking up info on the game...

tangent-
we could even set up a form or something that acts like a mission terminal. If you feed it the password you got in your letter, it'll give you a mission every week. It seems like humans are writing the missions individually, but the're actually randomly generated. Those participants that actually find themselves completing the missions will feel like cool operatives of our secret society. Each mission contains one discordian code word... if you do five or six missions you'll have enough google fodder to get more info. and maybe even find the origin... but it'll be a wild ride to get there.

Are you suggesting that the entire mission is computer generated (like, word for word) or that it's randomly chosen? Or templated? The latter two are easy, but the former may or may not require solving the Hard Problem.

templated

it would be like

[appellation]
[introductory bit]
[mission]
[warnings]
[clue]
[signature]

QuoteOPERATIVE NINE:

There is a schism taking place within our ranks and we want to make sure that when this is resolved, you are on the right side.
This mission may sound confusing, but it plays an important role in the schema 2515.

[randomly generated mission which involves doing something in real life or on the internet]

Neat. There is probably room for totally randomly generated misisons as well, but we would have to say that they are riddles or encoded or something, to make up for the lack of sense. I am unsure if that fits with the ARGGASM thing, though.
Title: Re: [GASM] Robotic High Weirdness by Mail
Post by: Cramulus on May 24, 2009, 05:59:15 PM
Hmmm, we might want to hone this idea down a bit...

let's commit to only sending post cards by mail. I think that's the most efficient, because we get a full color image and about ten lines of text. It's also the cheapest way to do it, at 52 cents a post card (instead of a buck a letter).

let's clarify what the bot is doing:

the bot would generate a post card like this
  -it would randomly select an image tagged with delicious
  -it would randomly generate text on the card based on our rules.

some of the post cards would seem coherent but have a surreal twist.
some of the post cards would seem incoherent but actually contain some info about the project
some of the post cards would use cold readings to ramp up paranoia, alluding to the greater Discordian conspiracy
some of the post cards would suggest a course of action or research which will lead to Discordia
some of the post cards would point the user at an online mission interface where we could string them along further... but maybe we should hold off on talking too deeply about that, as it's sort of a separate project.

we should of course make sure that some journalists and media personalities' addresses get in our database
Title: Re: [GASM] Robotic High Weirdness by Mail
Post by: Rococo Modem Basilisk on May 24, 2009, 06:25:12 PM
A significant number of the listed factors can be found in the memebomb DB, which I can certainly troll through. Random flickr images can be done, but it might be a better idea to troll through some creative-commons or public-domain image database just to avoid copyright issues.

We could also have a database of images to choose from (a subset of all my cached images, paired with random memebombs, should make for a couple thousand unique combinations if we filter out the obscene ones, so I don't think this will be super-awful. We can also probably take a bunch of images from the pics thread and salt them with more 'normal' ones).
Title: Re: [GASM] Robotic High Weirdness by Mail
Post by: Cramulus on May 24, 2009, 06:31:27 PM
we really don't need to worry about copyright, there's nothing illegal about printing out an image and mailing it to a stranger.

for images - I figured we'd select maybe 20 or 30 images tops and tag them on delicious. Then the bot selects a random one from the set of images tagged RHWMGASM. The advantage of doing it this way is that we'll be able to change the delicious tags and modify what the bot is sending without doing any re-coding

here are some images that I had in mind:
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb163/wompcabal/HIMEOBSISWATCHING.jpg
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb163/wompcabal/VISION.png

http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb163/wompcabal/windmill.png
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb163/wompcabal/Stallin.jpg

could be literally anything though
Title: Re: [GASM] Robotic High Weirdness by Mail

It will give us a bigger database of images, I suppose. Still, I don't know how fair use would apply here, so I'm a little wary.

That said, drawing from the memebomb db would probably be pretty good if we need stuff specifically under ten lines.

Depending on how the images are transferred, it may or may not be easier to have a folder with a bunch of them, rather than using flickr or delicious. We shouldn't need re-coding as long as we can reload the list of available images when necessary.

* this is an awesome idea.

* i agree with cram, we dont need to worry about copyright for this one. the act of copying is protected and it's just making one (1) copy and mailing it to a stranger. i don't see anything wrong with that copyrightwise. attribution might be a different story, but i can't see it doing any harm to just ignore it and not worry about it, in this particular case.

* too bad postful only delivers letters (no postcards) to the Netherlands at a higher price ($1.49).

* where/how do you get a random address?

* is it a problem if the random combination of memebomb/image/text somehow results in something real scary or threatening? or is that just part of the weirdness, and shouldnt happen too often anyway if we take some care.

* also since this thing won't be mailing out postcards that often, and people don't receive something more than once, you dont need 1000s of images, memebombs and complex sentence generators. it just decreases the probability that something awesome will come out. take a look at the twat-o-tron, it's already got a rather big database, but all it does is just stringing a couple of carefully selected sentences together.
so IMO, we select the useful memebombs from the OSMBdb top100 (some may be more suitable for this project than others), and hand select a bunch of awesome pictures, but also no more than 30-50, to keep up the quality.
if you want randomly generated text, go the twat-o-tron route, or maybe use my StringGenerator python class, which is kind of like a generalized framework for twat-o-tron-esque sentence generation. which is still quite powerful.

* personally I'd rather mail random weirdness or small assignments / unwitting O:MF programs than including this into some sort of ARG framework, but that's personal taste. I don't seem to "get" the point of ARGs.

* running AdSense to collect the money is going to pay very little, I'm afraid. it would be nice if we could somehow get the people that receive a postcard to drop a few bucks into the paypal account, but I don't quite see how. maybe linking to a site being completely upfront about it would work best in that case ("this is a project that mails random weirdness to random people. if you liked receiving your weirdness, please consider donating a few dollars. the program works a little something like this. blablabla. also, we are discordians. discordianism is awesome. if you really like receiving weirdness, consider donating your brain to eris discordia."

* where/how do you get a random address?

good question...

one method would be for a bunch of Americans to type in random addresses from the phone book

actual mailing databases are hard to come by.

As a subset of this prank, we could have it mail random people within a small database. Say... a group of friends, a church congregation, whatever. One by one, everyone in the give receives something mysterious, and they suspect each other of being involved....

but to answer your original question, I don't know.

Quote* is it a problem if the random combination of memebomb/image/text somehow results in something real scary or threatening? or is that just part of the weirdness, and shouldnt happen too often anyway if we take some care.

I would prefer non threatening / scary meme bombs. Weirdness is scary enough for some people. I know a lot of people that would really lose sleep if they received a surreal postcard in the mail with a message just for them... and no way to figure out where it came from...

also we need to minimize the possibility of someone taking this to the police.

Quote* personally I'd rather mail random weirdness or small assignments / unwitting O:MF programs than including this into some sort of ARG framework, but that's personal taste. I don't seem to "get" the point of ARGs.

In this case, the point would be to hook them into a series of mysteries, one after another, which eventually leads to the Principia Discordia or the Black Iron Prison or something. Because they had to work to get to that book, it has a higher value. And they will very likely search it for clues, revealing all sorts of stuff via the law of fives... :-P

ooh, possible answer to your first question

we could set up a website in which people can submit addresses to the database.

The site will explain the project and have a donate button...

Maybe the clue will be one gibberish word, somewhere on the weirdness
if they google that word literally, the only result will be our page with the donate button. So if someone investigates really thoroughly, they might be able to figure it out. But most people will remain mystified.

TANGENT WARNING TANGENT WARNING

[000]: Cram: i just had a real evil idea. you know how you can enter an address into google maps. people would be FUCKING FREAKED if the memebomb was overlaid a streetview pic of their house or street. it's a bad idea, i know, but funny
Cramulu1: how do you mean?
[000]: well you have the address, to make the pic, you query google for a streetview image of that address, and then paste the memebomb over it

to clarify: he's talking about a bot that grabs a Google-maps Street View of an address, pastes a meme bomb over that picture, then mails it to that person.

Cramulu1: OOH you know what would be cool? To find an empty parking lot somewhere and paint a meme bomb in it that will be photographed by google earth...  And then link people to those coordinates
Cramulu1: oooooooooh
Cramulu1: WOW
[000]: hm more difficult project
Cramulu1: good idea!
Cramulu1: yeah that's really surreal...

Cramulu1: but we totally could send people a map of the neighborhood. Maybe a randomly placed X marked BUIRED TREASURE
[000]: haha cool
[000]: or link two addresses that are a bit near eachother and tell them to hide an object at the "red thing" on the image. the other card would say to look for a clue near the "red thing"
[000]: assuming there's a red thing. and its not a car or something temporary
Cramulu1: GREAT FUCKING IDEA
Cramulu1: yeah basically make one person leave a package for another person
Cramulu1: tell both people they're participating in some kind of amazing conspiracy
Cramulu1: It might be more complicated to do it this way, but one way to implement it: you mail a random person a letter saying "Hide this card somewhere in public. Then go to this url: http://blablabla". The url has a form which instructs them to describe, in plain language, where they hid the card. When they click submit, it triggers that description to be mailed to another random person in the neighborhood.

In this way, the card would be hid and found and hid again until it hits a "dead end"
   -ie, someone gets a "find it" letter and didn't find it

in that case, we can re-mail the "find it" letter to someone else in the neighborhood

yeah, but still recognizable and creepy. a bigger problem would be to actually fetch StreetView images through a google API or reverse engineering. all very possible, but also time-consuming.

current, much easier, idea is to have a cool+weird image for the front of the postcard, selected from a small list of 30-50 images or so (more than enough, since nobody will receive a card twice, and this ensures higher quality images).
and some sort of text for the back of the postcard. could be just a memebomb, but maybe also more.

once that is running we can look at more advanced weirdness.

Addys:

finding specfic and random addresses for businesses/etc is relatively easy online. google a tele/addy directory for a city/state and a category (i got a huge hit for "churches" in Spokane, WA)

not quite sure what the impact/use of sending to a congregation/corporation might be. but with some minor PI techniques, it should be relatively easy (relative to, say, helping a badger give birth) to get a partial list of congregants/employees.

Also (The Tedious Way™): local libraries tend to have a mass of phone directories from many counties and states, which frequently include addresses (unless a body forks a buck fifty to avoid being listed- damn vultures of Ma Bell!). These could be studiously compiled and entered into a database that is randomly selected from.

i really like the idea of issuing to closed social groups so they think one of their own is the perpetrator. i have a former church that's under a lot of duress ATM that i would love to spring this on- may have to do it myself.

Overall, :fuckmittens:!

If my specific services can be used in anyway for this, PM me with details.

[note: lacking programming skill of almost any sort, i'm willing to dig for info on closed social groups, contrive cold reading elements, and gather addresses the boring way. or something else that doesn't involve programming.]

So basically, this project requires two components
-a collection of letter pieces and images, and a collection of names/address to mail them two
and
-a program to assemble the letters and send them to whatever company which makes them in to paper letters, automates the Paypal transactions, etc.

Essentially anyone (this means you!) can help with Part 1, although I guess Part 2 requires some actual programming ability.  I haven't actually done any programs that make use of the interwebs, although since nobodies hiring this summer I have plenty of time to learn.

There's always the Amazon Mechanical Turk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Mechanical_Turk), whose innovative approach to solving Hard Problems is to connect you to a guy with an internet connection in India who'd be happy to take screen shots of a dozen StreetView locations for USD $.03.

If we do go the Memebomb-on-a-picture-of-your-house route, we'd have to be careful which ones we use.  "Spoiler Alert: You Die At The End" has very different context on an image of where you live...

Oooh, POSTFUL has its own API!  Note the sandbox available towards the bottom of the page.  Also, mailing lists - we could send the same few dozen people a different postcard every month!
http://www.postful.com/developer/guide

As originally posted, the bot would use del.ico.us tags for material - but that worries me a little because (unless I'm mistaken) we have no control over what gets tagged RHWBMgasm.  So, say, Daruko could tag 1000 images of, I dunno, Lemonparty, and we'd be in trouble.  Plus its harder for the bot to access such materials.  Seems like it'd be easier to just have our own FTP server or something where people could upload material.  Then, we could either approve things first or remove things later, or sort them.  e.g., mission header folder, image folder, mission body folder, etc.

Although I do like the idea of linking it to the OLMB rating site.

yeah postful API is pretty simple and straightforward. I haven't checked out how to connect it with a Paypal acct though.

For the record, accessing delicious URLs based on tags is stupidly easy, but I totally agree with you about the abuse / subversion problem.

It would totally be possible to create a PDF of all possible permutations (or a lot of them -- depends on if we have 30 pics and 30 memebombs or 60 pics and 60 memebombs) and sell it on cafepress, though I am unsure of whether or not that would violate something.

It would also be perfectly possibly to sell overpriced mousepads/tshirts/buttons/panties on cafepress for like a 3 or 4 dollar markup, which would give us a couple mailings for every purchase.

Ok, I'm reading up on the Developer API on the website.

Do we have our own webserver to use? If so, can we run cron-jobs/automated schedules?

For the mailing list the data will need to be stored as seperate fields

Quote
name           required
company
address        required
address2
city           required
state          required
postal-code    required

I can simply POST data to the webserver, so I will muck around with it

So sending a letter is as simple as posting the following XML to the server

<mail>
 <documents>
   <document>
     <type>html</type>
     <url>http://webserver.com/document.pdf</url>
   </document>
 </documents>
 <addressees>
   <addressee>
     <name>Winnie the Pooh</name>
     <address>4568 Main St</address>
     <city>Kenosha</city>
     <state>WI</state>
     <postal-code>53140</postal-code>
   </addressee>
 </addressees>
</mail>

They have sandbox accounts so I'll sign up and experiment with that

Double sweet!

http://www.christopherstevens.cc/blog/2009/05/php-post-cards/

He's basicly gone through the trouble already and made an API to use. I'm testing it out and it works perfect! From the examples I got some respones back

Quote
gallery Postcard: Image fill front Text Hello from my office tent. Hope all is great! Love, Your Friend Image 174056367-3191 Alabama 4-H Center Alabama 4-H Center
892 4-H Road
Columbiana AL 35051 Success! Order ID is: 373732

So after getting the response back successfully, I logged into the website and It had ordering history :D

(http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/5901/okiedokes.png)

And the full preview is a PDF document.

Fark this is soo cool! I'll test out the Page styled one (So postcards are good to go :D)

edit : Ok tested the letter function. Have to becareful with file formats with this one, you can't upload images for the Letter function, images only work on Postcards - which you can make as both Front/Back, where as Letters can only have images if its done via PDF (and I think quite possibly HTML also - need to test that)

(http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/4816/lettergood.png) - but here is the history I got after doing the letter one.

This API rules its soo simple

include_once "../PostfulMail.php";

$mail = new PostfulMail("spaceants@live.com", "******");

if(!$contentID = $mail->uploadFile("letterText.txt")) {
   die($mail->errors);
}
$mail->letter($contentID, "txt");

$mail->domesticAddress("Alabama 4-H Center", "Alabama 4-H Center", "892 4-H Road", "", "Columbiana", "AL", "35051");

$orderID = $mail->sendMail();
if($mail->errors == "") {
echo "Success! Order ID is: " . $orderID;
} else {
echo $mail->errors;
}

I can use my host space at ulmb to use this. I guess next step is gathering a shit load of addresses, and a interface to make new properganda to send out.

 :lulz: Why not.

I'll start planning on the interface for content management soon, I'll be heading down to Adelaide this coming friday so I've been a bit busier than usual ( :argh!:) but I'll try write up a plan on my ride today and see if I can come up with anything.

Also, should we just keep it targetted in the US? It is possible to go International now, however it costs a bit extra. That could be something to look into later.

Does anyone have any resources for a list of addresses?
Title: Re: [GASM] Robotic High Weirdness by Mail
Post by: Cramulus on February 02, 2010, 09:42:38 PM
for now, let's stick to the US? if there was a version of postful for europe, we could use that, but for now I think we should go for the most bang for the buck, which will be US Domestic mailing.

addresses - this is a tough one! Perhaps there'll be a form which you can enter an address on after you donate 50c?

Alright, I suppose keep it in the US.
Can we get the addresses of famous people or politicians? :D

I'm thinking if there is something similar to the Yellow Pages/White Pages in america, I could perhaps design something to extract a bunch of addresses (How many would we aim for?)

And on the letters we should give them a link-back to the RHWM website where they can leave comments about how they wtf'd, cause then we know it's doing its job.

On another note, do we have any graphics for RHWM? I'm not that graphically inclined unfortunately, I could perhaps do a mock-up, but if any of our artists here would like to create something please do :D

Anything from the postergasm thread, the memebomb pics thread, or the kopyleft artwork thread should be fine. There's a lot of that, though, so it may be a good idea to create a thread for sorting out stuff that would be amenable to this format.

Yes, but it's probably not hard to come up with a slightly more targeted list of addresses. I think ENKI means that a lot
of those addresses might be places where nobody in particular might pay attention to such a postcard or just assume it's
spam or something. Then again, maybe not, but it would be a shame if a card just got ignored.

I mean, I bet there are several posters on this board that have a whole bunch of addresses they can't wait to sign up
for this project [friends, family, foes, etc]

Pretty much. It is too easy to cast too wide a net and not get any hits. We might want to, for instance, limit it to private addresses -- and even then, we might want to limit it more (to, say, people or groups we figure might get something out of it -- a universal jake isn't going to hit anyone hard, and unlike postergasm, it doesn't hit more than one person).

Lys's Cold Reading Of Ultimate Doom:

Quote
You are a person prone to bouts of self-examination. This is in sharp contrast to a striking ability you have developed to appear very socially engaged, even the life and soul of the party; but in a way that only convinces others. You are all too aware of it being a facade.

This means that you will often be at a gathering and find yourself playing a part. While on the one hand you'll be talkative and funny, you'll be detaching yourself to the point where you will find yourself watching everything going on around you and feeling utterly unable to engage. You'll play conversations back to yourself in your head and wonder what that person really meant when he said such-and-such – conversations that other people wouldn't give a second thought to.

How have you learned to deal with this conflict? Through exercising control. You like to show a calm, self-assured fluid kind of stability (but because this is self-consciously created, it will create bouts of frustrated silliness and a delight in extremes, or at least a delight in being seen to be extreme). You most easily recognize this control in how you are with people around you. You have learned to protect yourself by keeping people at bay. Because in the past you have learned to be disappointed by people, you instinctively keep people at arms' length, until you decide they are allowed over that magic line into your group of close friends. However, once across that line, the problem is that an emotional dependency kicks in which leaves you feeling very hurt or rejected if it appears that they have betrayed that status.

Because you are prone to self-examination, you will be aware of these traits. However, you are unusually able to examine even that self-examination, which means that you have become concerned about what the real you is. You have become all too aware of facades, of sides of yourself which you present to the world, and you wonder if you have lost touch with the real and spontaneous you.

You are very creative, and have tried different avenues to utilize that ability. It may not be that you specifically, say, paint; it may be that your creativity shows itself in more subtle ways, but you will certainly find yourself having vivid and well-formed ideas which others will find hard to grasp. You set high standards for yourself, though, and in many ways are a bit of a perfectionist. The problem is, though, that it means you often don't get stuff done, because you are frustrated by the idea of mediocrity and are wearied by the idea of starting something afresh. However, once your brain is engaged you'll find yourself sailing. Very much this will likely lead to you having considered writing a novel or some such, but a fear that you won't be able to achieve quite what you want stops you from getting on with it. But you have a real vision for things, which others fall short of. Particularly in your academic/college situation, you are currently fighting against restraints upon your desire to express yourself freely.

Your relationship with your parents is under some strain. You wish to remain fond of them but recent issues are causing frustration – from your side far more than theirs. In fact they seem unaware of your thoughts on the matter. Partly this is because there are ways in which you have been made to feel isolated from certain groups in the past – something of an outsider. Now what is happening is that you are taking that outsider role and defending it to the point of consciously avoiding being part of a group. This will serve you well in your creative and career pursuits. You have an enormous cynicism towards those who prefer to be part of a group or who exhibit any cliquey behaviour, and you always feel a pang of disappointment when you see your 'close' friends seeming to follow that route. Deep down it feels like rejection.

However, for all that introspection, you have developed a sensational, dry sense of humour that makes connections quickly and wittily and will leave you making jokes that go right over the heads of others. You delight in it so much that you'll often rehearse jokes or amusing voices to yourself in order to 'spontaneously' impress others with them. But this is a healthy desire to impress, and although you hate catching yourself at it, it's nothing to be so worried about.

There's also an odd feeling that you should have been born in a different century. You might be able to make more sense of that than I can.

There are some strong monetary shifts taking place at the moment. Both the recent past and what's in store over the next few months represent quite a change.

You have links at the moment with people abroad, which are quite interesting, and will look to yield worthwhile results. You're naturally a little disorganized. A look around your living space would show a box of photos, unorganized into albums, out-of-date medicines, broken items not thrown out, and notes to yourself which are significantly out of date. Something related to this is that you lack motivation. Because you're resourceful and talented enough to be pretty successful when you put your mind to things, this encourages you to procrastinate and put them off. Equally, you've given up dreams a little easily when your mind flitted elsewhere. There are in your home signs of an excursion into playing a musical instrument, which you have since abandoned, or are finding yourself less interested in. (This may alternatively relate to poetry and creative writing you've briefly tried your hand at and left behind you.) You have a real capacity for deciding that such-and-such a thing (or so-and-so a person) will be the be all and end all of everything and be with you for ever. But you'd rather try and fail, and swing from one extreme to the other, than settle for the little that you see others content with.

Conclusion: It's very interesting doing your reading, as you do present something of a conundrum, which won't surprise you. You are certainly bright, but unusually open to life's possibilities – something not normally found among achieving people. I'd say you'd do well to be less self-absorbed, as it tends to distance you a little, and to relinquish some of the control you exercise when you present that stylized version of yourself to others. You could let people in a little more, but I am aware that there is a darkness you feel you should hide (much of this is in the personal/relationship/sexual area, and is related to a neediness which you don't like).

You really have an appealing personality – genuinely. Many thanks for doing this, and for offering something far more substantial than most.

/coolaid

oh yeeeeeeah.

I don't think this would fit on one postcard, but, would be pretty cool for a one every week till its finished with appropriate pictures :D

Interestingly (or not) it doesn't describe anything that applies to me. Most of it is nearly the opposite of describing my life... if someone seriously sent me this as a reading, I would :?

I order my business cards from them, haven't had any trouble for the last 6 years or so. The charge to use an uploaded photo is one-time; then you have the photo stored under your account to use whenever you want.

I've made some Progress (albiet slowly, I have not been focusing on this proj at all). I suppose with the API we will keep with Postful since we can completely automate it, I'm just working on the admin functions atm - the way it will be set up is in 3 split ways.

(Anything labeled WIP is a 'Work In Progress')

1) Addresses
- Anyone with admin access will be able to insert/modify/remove entries from the Addresses.

2) Letters (WIP)
- Able to upload either a bunch of text (will be saved as a .txt), pdf ,rtf or DOC (Not a DOCX - prefered format would be MSWord 6 I think?). Still wondering if manipulating HTML to convert into a letter is plausable.

3) Postcards (WIP - I couldn't get the API to work with it; I'll look into that when I come across it)
- Upload images for both front and back of the postcard (I suppose since I'm lazy, the words should already be written out on the postcard! Though I do think I need to figure out the X/Y pos for where the address goes (?) again I'll look at it when I come across it); picture formats must be in PNG/JPG/GIF format, dimension seem to vary (I think I saw it at 900x638 px)

Once those basic things are covered... I guess the next step is to fill it up with content, then get a real Postful account (since I am only using Sandbox atm) and muck around with that.
