I don't think I've ever typed TL;DR before.

But here we are.
Good point.
Yeah, he was making fun of QM

It suddenly feels like PD is alive again.   :lulz:

Let's invite IANAR, Poptart, and the Outlandish One back for some real sidesplitting laughs
True enough.
I know a fair amount of indigenous people from the Kettle Point reservation, but never heard a single one ever mention receiving any reparation payments... maybe they just don't talk about it to me, since... you know. But some of the houses there sure don't look like they are getting much from the government.

Why, what have you been hearing?

If I didn't know these two so well, I'd assume that someone strapped them to a chair in front of a Tucker Carlson show (he has gone from screeching about this to "liberating Canada" in the last few days).

Setting that aside, Canada's medical system is heavily overloaded right now, which might be a reason not to move here, especially if you're in less than perfect health.  It's almost impossible to find a GP in many areas, and there were recently two cases of women in Nova Scotia dying while waiting for treatment in emergency rooms.

That happens here all the time.  Your wait may be dictated by your ability to pay, even in the ER.

Boy howdy. Sounds like Canada is the new Tucson.
They generally are not the sharpest spoons in the drawer.
One of Roger's many stalkers, no doubt.

I am saddened and aggrieved.

But I am sure that the torch of a man of his stature is now carried by his grateful spiritual heirs, may his wisdom grace the world in aeternis.

Them tamarinds can be a pain.

His corpse has been running a cargo cult in Polynesia, Weekend at Bernie's style.

Also, if you guys did want a discord that's basically what I do for work now. I can help.
Your job is setting up discord servers?  There are people who pay for that?  Weird.

Anyway, P.D. already has a discord server, but it's by invitation only.  They wouldn't let me join, said I was too "pseudo-ontological".

Too Canadian.

Is there such a thing anymore?
I concur.
Kind of a crazy week for me— my nephew was drafted into the NHL, then a couple days later my partner almost died in front of me from some unknown allergen - literally almost died, they were turning blue, choking and foaming at the mouth, it was HORRIFYING - then contracted covid (finally, after successfully dodging for over 2 years) which has zapped me of any life I had left in me... on top of all that I heard back about a poem I sent away ages ago, and they EVISCERATED it.

So it's been quite a week!

Quite honestly I cannot tel if this is fiction or whether you really did all this.

I would call that alone a true win.

I do a lot of stupid shit these days.

That should be written on a sign posted outside Earth

Yeah, happened to me back in about November. I got lucky and am unscathed. I treat ramen with due respect these days. Was it the semi-fancy Nongshim stuff that got you, too?

FTR, I'm not riffing or joking, I'm glad you're mostly okay because I have genuinely seen this happen firsthand (at a fair distance).

Naw, I'm fine with it.

I mean, okay, I tried something new and it WORKED but then it exploded.  This is better than when I cut off a chunk of my ear prepping burgers, because I was at least successful.

Well, after a fashion.  I have no idea where the ramen wound up.

Tried something.

What did you try?

I figured you could sparge noodles.

Put it in a Pyrex sphere with water and no remaining air space, superheat the sphere with ether, and the water can't boil because of the pressure, so it just migrates into the ramen.  It worked, too.  15 second ramen.

Then the Pyrex went bang at about 15 atmospheres of pressure, squashed my face shield up against my googles, causing me to swallow most of my left front tooth.  Also some mild flash burns & concert ears.

I call it a partial success.  It would have been a complete success if I knew where the ramen wound up.  Not in my yard, anyway.

I am reasonably sure that the chlorine in the water came unglued into O2, adding vapor, which could expand and you'd only need the Pyrex to have uneven pressure for a fraction of a second.

Quite honestly I cannot tel if this is fiction or whether you really did all this.

I would call that alone a true win.
