News:

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

Or Kill Me / Discordianism apparently cost me a job...
January 26, 2011, 08:19:44 PM
So I had this job interview a week ago monday, seemed to go pretty well. The recruiter person who set it up for me even said it went pretty well. But she said they felt that my personality wasn't a good match for them. Which they based upon googling me and finding my blog, in which I write mostly discordian-ish stuff. And nothing even particularly offensive even given that.

Which is kind of WTF-ery of the highest order. Guess I'm kind of a dumb spag for having stuff that's associated to me, although that really only because of my domain, as far as I know. So I dunno. On the one hand, not sure I want anyone who'd be that upset over that sort of thing to hire me. On the other, would kind of like to be employable at some level.

Mainly though, it just kind of pisses me off.

(the blog being at http://junkmail.eristic.org if anyone wants to see. though maybe it won't be there for long :P)

Two vast and trunkless legs of stone / Yarnbombing

Having no idea if this is in the right sort of forum region, because fuck lurking, amirite?

Anyway. I knit. I like knitting a lot. I want to use this for Evil rather than for Producing Warmth for Loved Ones.

Anybody have any information on how this sort of thing works, links to patterns or websites or books or whatnot? Or at least, any particularly devious ideas I could noodle around with during my lonely, drunken evenings?

As mentioned in another topic, I'd like to present my Xmas gift... it's a work in progress. It is a hand-painted discordian calendar. So far the first two seasons are complete, and I especially liked Discord, which presents a very excellent depiction of the Goddess... while her callipygian nature is appreciated by me, I think the rainbow hair is a very good touch as well.

Also, when I recently posted about Afflux someone complained about not actually seeing Eris' nude rear as suggested by the title. So here's that too.

Finally, the rest of the calendar so far is also in my photostream so click around if you're inclined. There's also, somewhere in there, a golden apple coffee mug I actually made myself (this calendar was done by my lovely and talented doxy girl, a budding Discordian who mainly just puts up with my nonsense).
