Look at my goddamn signature, what the fuck
this means ALL the wompcabal images in the PD archive are now broken.
Well, Photobucket has been sucking for years now. That they think they can charge for 3rd party hosting, in 2017, is hilarious.
If nothing else, it's a good excuse to go put the entire wompcabal archive up on Imgur.
I've used a direct link for years, they're the f'kin yahoo of image hosting. Shit from the dark ages. Total clusterfuck of crappy clickbait ads but I'm too goddamn lazy to shift my old shit.
I just realized this fucked my food blog, regardless that I haven't updated it in months.
is there some ... magical way to download everything, shift it over to another host, and then bulk find/replace URLs throughout the PD archive? maybe using magic?
also, I don't think we have the wompcabal login anymore

Find some Python web scraper?
You should be able to download everything and re-up it on imgur, but I think you're fucked on mass replacing links.
Photobucket hasn't jammed any of my "3rd party hosted" images yet. However, after logging in, I can no longer download any new images. Now, every attempt to download something gets me kicked out of my account and back to the login screen. Fortunately for me, I don't have many images on their site that are being "3rd party hosted."
What I find most surprising is that this whole thing is happening with no formal warning or notification. Photobucket used to send out advertising Emails on a regular basis. But, I have yet to receive a single Email related to their holding of 3rd party hosting privileges for ransom.

It's so bad, it's even in the newsfeed.
I think we need a few alternative versions of that in there.
I recommend switching to postimage
I had some...home videos backed up in a private folder through them. They deleted them for ToS. No notice. No chance to recover...just gone.
I fucking HATE Photobucket.
That is exactly why I use bluray disks and flash drives for backups instead of cloud storage
this is brilliant
