Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: A chicken may or may not cross the road if it perceives an impending doom.
So many questions asked that go unanswered.
But they are not greeted with unknowing silence or gentle gasps of confusion.
The questions are countered with trails of words, superficially woven together to compose an utterance.
But with no attachment to a resolution of reason.
Because we must say something...
....even when it is nothing.
Brilliant. Words as wallpaper. They're starting to hurt.
People often comment to me that I don't talk a lot.
That I'm quiet.
Yet, it never occurs to them...
....that maybe.....they're too loud.
Why must silence always be filled?
Why must words be elicited for the sake of it?
It really is okay, if we have nothing to say, to say nothing.
It isn't some mark of un-intelligence.
Indeed, it is a hallmark of wisdom.
To know when it is unnecessary to remark.

Which was what inspired this.
I sent a very simple and straightforward question to my federal funder.
"Can you give me a general time frame as to when I'll get a decision about my request?"
I received a 3 paragraph response that answered every question except for the one I actually asked.
