I am temporarily unable to get to 23AE, as they blocked it (Blue Coat filter category  'Alternative Spirituality/Belief;Games')

I know nobody gives a fuck, but has anything that is of particular noteworthiness been posted lately?

Aneristic Illusions / 2 Soldiers "Missing"

I know many may not care.  Just pisses me off.   A lot of the details are not being released, but let me put it this way...they aren't so much missing as we are not allowed to do what it takes to get them back.  Cain, perhaps with your better understanding of politics, you can explain it to me.  Anyway, as soon as we get them back, I will be helping send them home.

Bring and Brag / Need help with a picture
November 02, 2009, 05:41:34 PM
I am trying to make something based on an apple.  I lack the simple fucking skills required to draw a decent looking apple, so I can't go onto the next step.  I am looking for something that can be used on a website, as well as perhaps here, so it needs to look good, but needs to be simple enough that it can be easily reproduced in print and whatever.  Almost like a logo.  If someone is willing to help please send me a message.

Literate Chaotic / Looking for Cyberpunk...
October 29, 2009, 01:31:46 PM
Since I know I am not alone as a fan of cyberpunk, I need recommendations for books.  I am looking mostly for less popular or even obscure shit.  I know the big authors, and have read the occasional book that was by someone I hadn't heard of before.  I keep looking and google hates cyberpunk, as all I find is the stuff I already know of.

In addition to Stephenson, Sterling, Gibson, Stross, Rucker and other authors listed here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cyberpunk_works#Print_media who and what do you suggest?

Literate Chaotic / Kenji Siratori's "writings"

He doesn't actually write, obviously, so does he have a script or something he uses to make this shit?  People are fucking stupid.  What makes his shit so special?

Literate Chaotic / The Banjo Players Must Die
December 01, 2007, 08:40:36 PM
Not sure if I want to read it, but with everything else I am currently reading I don't have time for this.  Maybe later if I hear anything good about it.

Anyone read it so far?

Or Kill Me / Bitchin'

I think there are a few terms we need to get away from with all of this.  I will even go so far as to say that the Discordian Society as a whole needs to get away from them, except while referencing them in the cutesy fun little stories they were used in to get their point across.  At this point they seem to be hindering the advancement of the ideas they represented.  Evidence of this is that these terms changed through time.  Because the last version of "Principia Discordia"  included these terms, must we use them, rather than continue to help the ideas evolve?

With "Aneristic", unless it is a forgery, the first edition of PD never used this term, but did however have these ideas.  Then better terms for the ideas were created.  Why does it have to be stagnant now?  Let's find a term that doesn't limit the use of the term only to us.  I am not very up on what is currently going on over in the damned UK, but I know that, in America at least, the nation as a whole is seeing an ever increasing part of their life influenced by that which can be called by this name.  I was hoping to find a word already widely used that would fit.  I, at present, am unable to find one, and I am too lazy to keep thinking about it.  I will eventually find, or create, one if someone else is unable to first.

Now, on to the one that I see thrown around in all the wrong ways: "Greyface".  Alright, I understand there was a story that included it.  I realise that story may have seemed like more than a story to some.  The point of it was not to call everyone a greyface.  The idea that it was used to spread is what is important, not the fucking name.  Humans*, or at least english speaking ones, seem to like to make references to literature, which is wonderful.  What is saddening, though, is when you refuse to state that the map is not the territory.  Do I call everyone who takes the fall for someone else "Jesus" or "Christ" or those words/names in any other language?  How about someone who seems powerful, but has a weakness that is either not known or difficult to use against them being called "Achilles"?  These are stories that have a message, and the two remain seperate.  Why do so many of you insist on calling people, or groups "Greyface".  We have other words out there that describe these people better, and more accurately.  At those times where it is the most suitable term, which is not as often as some seem to believe, I understand using it, or, even better, using "Greyfaced" or maybe "Greyfacian", but get the fuck over our stories.  Be more original, I know you can do it.

I don't even want to get started on cabbage, so I will repeat that last sentence: "Be more original, I know you can do it".  If not, then you all don't belong in the Discordian Society.  I am sure there is some neopagan group out there that wants you to believe their stories are wholly real.
