News:

We've got artists, scientists, scholars, pranksters, publishers, songwriters, and political activists.  We've subjected Discordia to scrutiny, torn it apart, and put it back together. We've written songs about it, we've got a stack of essays, and, to refer back to your quote above, we criticize the hell out of each other.

Expanding the word cheapens it, IMO.

Slavery is an abomination from which you can't just walk away.

Feeling trapped by society is another, lesser matter entirely.

I agree that its a lesser matter. Which is what I said earlier.

Chattel Slavery we're slowly getting rid of as a society
Indentured Slavery and Sweat Shop Slavery we're not doing so well on.
The other stuff, maybe it will always be here (necessary ill as I said).

For me, it doesn't cheapen it, it brings it the whole issue into focus. Some would argue that getting paid shit to work in a dangerous environment isn't 'slavery' its just working at a crappy job for crappy pay. I think by pointing out that slavery exists in many forms, we circumvent that sort of thinking. But thats just my opinion.

Do you use the word "rape" this loosely as well?

Let's play the redefining game! Words mean what I want them to mean!

LETS RAPE WORDS!

In england "rape" is a kind of plant/crop.

If this kind of thing continues we will be having nutjobs commandeering nuclear submarines wearing orange jumpers and extremely tight and gay blue hotpants claiming to be aquaman.

Trollbear, what is the most effective way to teach my students Japanese?

Make them watch obscene amounts of japanese henatai, particualrly tetacle based ones so they get a grasp of the words and how they are pronounced. And its something they will willingly do in thier own time too so dont forget to set that henatai homework.

If you are serious about it, i kid, just get them to watch some japanse shows so they get a grasp of the language, kids shows even. Similar concept but this one is more do-able.

Lots of people dying recently, must be a new trend.

The post above is ironic because heaven and the afterlife is a cage for the dead to seperate the living.

TROLLBEAR, HEROIN, CRACK OR BATH SALTS?

What I love about this post is that you could argue that Trollbear is one of the options listed, and not the subject.

What I hate about this post is the lack of the Oxford Comma.

There is such a thing as a oxford comma'?

TROLLBEAR, WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE OXFORD COMMA?

PD specializes in deep fried high-caloric content.

Ive noticed.

Do you serve deep fried chicken or just sarcasm, irony and sorrow?

Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence

"Fools", said I,
"You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed
In the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said,
"The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"
And whispered in the sounds of silence

I like turtles.  :p

Aneristic Illusions / Re: MINDY MEYER FOR SENATE

Not like i have anything against Women in power (Sounds kinky almost) but if she does win and makes a total flop of it by glorifying herself and becoming more interested in her fashion regime than affairs of state like i feel many people would expect from this postergirl of a president. If so, she wouldn't be sitting in the presidential chair for that long and start WW3 or a new cold war by insulting Vladmir Putin's fashion sense or create world peace by doing diplomatic relations over twitter and invite world leaders to one-direction Gigs.

Im just glad that it's america's problem and not ours.

(wait i just read it was 'senate' not presidency as i initially thought, silly me)

Oh shit, I forgot I have veggies drying in the basement.

Just make sure you hydrate them enough so they don't turn into dust.
