Title: Bilderberger 2012
Post by: Cain on June 04, 2012, 04:58:59 PM
Remember, nothing of interest ever happens at private meetings of some of the world's most powerful people.

http://www.bilderbergmeetings.org/participants2012.html

I expect lots of media sneering at the idea that heads of state, CEOs of major corporations and banks and editors of chief media outlets all meeting in the same place and having lots of private discussions could ever have an effect on the world stage.  You know, Henry Kissinger, the chairmen of Goldman Sachs and the Vice President of the World Economic Forum just have lots of spare time and nothing to do except attend elite get-togethers.  It is certainly not the case that they cleared five days in their very busy schedules to ensure they could be present at the kind of event where deals are made, alliances secured and the world's major issues are debated and settled - but in secret.

Because that is crazy talk.  Shame on you for even considering it.

Of course nothing of importance goes on there. One of the reasons why not only will the mainstream media sneer at the idea... why... it won't even be mentioned except by the whack-job looney media outlets that noone takes seriously.

Yes, that's for people who believe in space aliens and reptilians.

Henry Kissinger still goes?  Do they have his brain in a jar or something?

I think Goldman Sachs, Unilever and Deutsche Bank have bought him a special, gold-plated jar to use.

I have ceased getting excited about this, for the same reason I don't get all excited when the HR department meets to "restructure" benefits.  It's awful, it's evil, but there's nothing that can be done about it unless you plan to say "fuck it", and fire up the chainsaws.

Incidentally, Kissinger now sells HR and Accounting software.

True. Ugh.

Goldman Sachs, Unilever and Deutsche Bank only sprang for plate? Cheap fucks.

Cool, not only our Queen will be there (as usual), also the Prime Minister and Alexander Pechtold.
(+two other Dutch, CEO of Unilever and an Economics professor/former honorary secretary general of Bilderberg meetings)

Pechtold being the chair of D66 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democrats_66#Ideology_and_issues), who are actually one of the sanest mainstream political parties, "politically unaligned" though that probably means slightly left off centre given today's political climate, mostly concerned with reforming our democratic system (to make it more democratic), for instance they pushed for direct election of prime ministers and mayors and a referendum to give the population more influence on big decisions outside election times. They generally got some quite intelligent and well thought-out ideas--even though I don't always agreed with them. (Interestingly enough the English WP article says they want to reform our democracy into a two-party system (which IMO would be an incredibly bad idea), their Dutch WP article mentions no such thing and it's the first I ever heard about it too)

Given there's also some probably-non-evil people there, they can't just flat out plot their schemes to enslave 99% of humanity. So, what sort of stuff would get discussed there?

Also do they just sit in a big meeting room and discuss stuff or is the event made up out of all sorts of smaller meetings between select groups of attendants? That's one thing I wondered about, seeing that nearly everything is secret, I have no idea what'd be going on. Of course given all attendants' very busy schedules otherwise, making deals and securing alliances seems somewhat more probable than a 5 day boozefest with our PM discovering his sexuality.

Also I just looked up Henry Kissinger on Wikipedia, says he's born in 1923, but that photo of him (if you click through to the flickr source link) says it's taken in 2008 ... wtf? He looks in his 50s in that pic, at most?

You seem to be under the impression that Kissinger ages.

flickr uses the date the photo was uploaded if you don't manually change it. Kissinger is a fucking FOSSIL.

When I'm 89, I'm just going to annoy my nurses by shitting myself regularly.

That's all the power I'll need.

Okay? I've been pretty much handed this line too when I've brought up Bilderberg so I just don't bring it up anymore. Since when did "Secretive, annual meeting consisting of bankers and top .5 percenters" not sound a little suspicious? But space aliens and Chupa Cabra is the baloney I get too. I don't even dare bring up JFK anymore.

Although, you have to admit, that shit with Alex Jones half-whispering/half-ranting into the phone at George Noury on Coast2Coast is pretty silly.

Keith Alexander looks really out of place next to all those bankers and politicians. Of course all these powerful people meeting with a man who can spy on anyone in American without legal repercussions is just a coincidence. Im sure hes just there for the snack bar.

I only wish they'd held their first meeting at the Ufuk Hotel in Istanbul. Then, their name would be much more appropriate.

Or maybe the Elephant Butte Inn in New Mexico. Then, their name would inspire the fear it should.
