We've got artists, scientists, scholars, pranksters, publishers, songwriters, and political activists. We've subjected Discordia to scrutiny, torn it apart, and put it back together. We've written songs about it, we've got a stack of essays, and, to refer back to your quote above, we criticize the hell out of each other.
Quote from: Faust on June 13, 2025, 10:49:52 AMReally horrified with the unprovoked preemptive attack of Iran. Nuclear talks were due to continue next week, now they are impossible which is exactly what Isreal wants, to make all out war inevitable.Your horror is justified. I'm appalled that, once again, the government of the U.S. of A. is allowing the government of the State of Israel to dictate our foreign policy. I have never been able to wrap my head around this behavior.
Quote from: Faust on June 06, 2025, 02:25:35 PMYeah its grim that american politics is playing out in tweets.I saw something in the news the other day about the old 1950's Amos 'n' Andy comedy TV show. It reminded me of the dichotomies, like "briber and bribee," that the main characters of the show used in their dialogues. And, when I did a spell check and found that "bribee" is a legitimate word, I had to use it.
Bribe and Bribee is a funny way to put it, my take is that the man who purchased a country (living the american dream) is now unhappy with the quality of the merchendise he paid for.
