I re-read that after posting and it sounded kind of douche-y. I'm working on it.

There's a LOT of shit to read here. I have SO MUCH to catch up on.

I've been trying my damnedest not to be an utter douche lately, too.

Also, at least I'm not playing/talking about Skyrim.

You can still get your face eaten while lurking.

Well, at least, I can and have.

Aneristic Illusions / Re: Is money private property?

Thanks Iptuous. Gesell was the name I was trying to think of.

I hadn't heard about Ithica Hours or the lot, either.

Michael Ende, author of "The Never Ending Story" (in German, not English) had some interesting discussions about money in his book "Fantasy/Culture/Politics". He came from the standpoint of communal ownership (using the same fiat framing), observing that healthy economies rely on currency being circulated, like blood through veins. Some of his ideas were odd, though, but perhaps applicable- like printing money with an expiration date to discourage hoarding.

As far as it being personal or private property, I don't think it is. It's definitely not a personal property, since the bills are owned by the FED, and the debt is owned by the GOV'T (which, in turn, is now "OUR" debt).

It certainly isn't used very much as a public property, or a resource, as much as I can tell, either. So I'm not sure what exactly I would call it.

On a tangent:
Quote from: About M. Ende Page1984:
Michael Ende sees the film Die unendliche Geschichte (The Neverending Story) and is shocked. Furiously he has his name removed from the project.

1985:
On 3 February, the commissioned opera Der Goggolori (The Goggolori) has its successful premier at the Münchner Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. Wilfried Hiller wrote the music. On 27 March Michael Ende's wife Ingeborg Hoffmann dies of pulmonary embolism, after having seen the film version of unendlichen Geschichte (The Neverending Story). Michael Ende returns to Munich.

Or listen to rock music, watch The Simpsons, dye your hair, or play anything even remotely resembling D&D (I was once forbade from watching the movie "Warlock", and not because it has Julian Sans :lulz:), or read world religion/philosophy books (she actually had one of her boyfriends burn some books, two of which were checked out of the library).

Shooting stuff in the orchard behind our house was okay, though. Even though it was killing, and trespassing.

That quote, by the way, "We don't handle snakes, we speak in tongues," was my bat-shit mother, when I asked her if we were Baptist or Pentecostal when I was about 15.
#8
Do you [Catholics] believe in laying-of-hands style healing and tangible demonic/spiritual warfare? Pentecostals do, fervently. They just don't want to be seen that way from the outside.

Get that money. Ron Paul at the end was the best, I think.

Ive been thinking of trolling christian dating sites and listing my denomination as a satanic pentacostal.

Unfortunately this would force me to learn more about pentacostals.

Pentecostals- all you need to know:

1) Jesus

2) "We don't handle snakes, we speak in tongues."   <-- no shit

3) "Pentecost" is the holiday seven weeks (50 days) after Easter

4) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentecost

5) Jesus

FeS2,

The following is a list the top 5 things that make me "less" "discordian":

I miss the punchline, frequently.

I'm awesome at being sarcastic, but have difficulty picking it up in someone else.

In the deepest recesses of my heart, I do believe there is a "point" to it all (not the same, mind you, as "everything happens for a reason")

I call myself a discordian, sometimes.

I, due to habituation, have an easier time doing my mindless, boring job than I do pursuing things I actually enjoy.

So, wait... If they're banning literature that deals with themes of Race and/or Oppression, vis a vis, Enthic Studies, does that mean they're going to kick the bible study off campus?

most recent Super Pac email:

Quote

Dear Super PAC Super Voters,

Hey, it's Jon. It feels like only a week ago that we started this crazy journey to convince Stephen Colbert to run for President of the United States of South Carolina. But in fact it was a week and two days. Time flies when you're not coordinating!

Today is the South Carolina Republican Primary, so I just wanted to remind you to make your voice heard in the form of Stephen Colbert's voice in the form of Herman Cain's voice. Do your patriotic duty and vote for a man that's no longer running!

I'll see you at The Definitely Not Coordinating With Stephen Colbert Super PAC victory party. We have a lot of money, so we splurged on name-brand cola!

The Definitely Not Coordinating With Stephen Colbert Super PAC

PS - Just a reminder, our Super PAC is not coordinating with Stephen Colbert, or Herman Cain, or any of the candidates. Although, full disclosure: I once brushed up against Mitt Romney at the 2008 Republican Convention. His skin was cold and rubbery, like a damp rain slicker.

This, after a barrage of Ads in South Carolina, the most recent of which "attacks" Colbert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igZMahgu2_0&feature=related

Propaganda Depository / Re: Pamphlet Brainstorm Thread

Concept: To get people who usually don't to try breathing for a minute. That's it. This is also along the lines of cold reading, in that it should seem like it's tailored for a specific demographic across several demographics.

Front Cover: ????? Parody of a generic Apocalypse mantra????

Inside (left): A wind-up mini rant about how the literal End of Time is approaching.

Inside Flap: Bulleted crib sheet of common modern "evidences" of the end times.

Inside Center: Here the rant can segue into emotionally charged rhetoric about how it's every True Believer's duty to help bring about this divine event. Allusions to "killing time" come to mind, or "put[ting] an end to time".

Inside Right: (Image: a lotus/someone in meditation) A tool to help expedite the End of Time (disguised Pranayama), explaining how intense concentration on the present moment tears time to pieces.

Back Cover:  Uncle Sam: I Want YOU - To Help Put An End To TIME! (and maybe a url without further explanation).

I just finished reading his entire post count.

Definitely leaning more towards troll, now. But we'll see.
