I always had a soft spot for that guy. Yeah, he was evil, but he was smart cautious evil, which is better than stupid energetic evil.
I agree, regarding evil. A cough and now a fever. Seems rather an unfitting end. Where's the brimstone? Where's Bush Jr. with a pillow over his face?

He's been in the hospital since November 23rd, but he's now in ICU. Not good.

The slooooow slide. :(
He kept up appearance, he kept up standards (of sort). He was that old school brooding quiet sort of evil they used write about in "Star Wars"
We used to make fun of him for misspeaking.
Then W came along and holy shit.
He used the phrase "New World Order" without irony!
Actually, irony may have been something he didn't do at all.
Yeah, I kind of think that maybe he didn't have an irony gland.
One thing I can say, as a metal head, he inspired a shit-ton of great music, unfortunately for the wrong reasons.
Ad then there is his turn at techno:

Yeah, my ex-husband was in a seriously shitty band called Busholini.

For some reason I was expecting this:

You know what? He never did anything bad to me personally, and through all of his foibles and centralization of capital, he was better at his job than others. I can't say anything bad about him, personally, and I don't know anything about him professionally that hasn't passed through the band filter of media.
Fuck that guy, nonetheless.

Funny enough, the vocalist is a Republican.

Better than his son. That said, he did head the CIA. As a President, he was kind of a transition guy. And he made the mistake of saying that he wouldn't ratify a tax increase, when he was forced to. I will also say that I respect his restraint in the Gulf War. I didn't at the time, but having known Cain, if even through the internet, I know now that these things aren't black and white, and while dictatorship is abhorrent, sometimes the vacuum is even worse.

Heh, actually Ministry DID come to mind first. Bush and Bush Jr. were frequent muses for uncle Al. Psalm 69 probably would not have kicked as much ass without Bush in the picture.

NOW he is. And Bush was featured on the album art for Rust In Peace. I don't think he was meant to be seen in a favorable light in that picture.

Nor was Bush II on "The System Has Failed"
What the fuck happened to that guy anyway? He went from being an angry shredder Metal God to someone that makes Sarah Palin look like a genius. But, he's still a bad-ass guitarist so at least he still has that.

Sometimes people need to find God. Sometimes they make the mistake of sacrificing awesome for religious reasons.
To be fair, Mustaine was leaning towards conservativism and homophobic Christianity back in the 80s. Something about God saying it was wrong and let's change the subject in this interview because I don't want faggots protesting my concerts.
Goodnight mister "I wasn't involved in Iran-Contra at all, Saddam Hussein was my friend last week but he's a Hitler now, vomiting on the Japanese Prime Minister's lap" funny man!
Filthy rich politician? About to snuff it? Yeah, I guess all those festive - neglected puppy / starving african babies - commercials have dried out my give a fuck gland.
Well, it doesn't look like he's about to kick the bucket just yet:
"His doctors feel he should build up his energy before going home. They remain optimistic about his full recovery and are being extra cautious with his care," the statement said.
I hate all things Bush. But he used to hang out with Loretta Lynn and that was kinda cool.
I have to say he's done some good stuff as an ex-President. He and his wife have made some serious investments here in healthcare here in Maine, and he's done some philanthropic work with Bubba. On balance, he hasn't been the worst person to hold that job.
Well, but Gen Schwarzkopf did die.

Yes. And I has a sad, because I met him as a little kid, and I always thought that was awesome. Plus, MacDill is in my backyard.
Bush I is only good in comparison to other recent US Presidents, I'd like to point out.
Much in the way Herman Goring was the most likeable Nazi, in fact.
When you consider that President Reagan spent most of the 80s consulting his horoscope and talking to wallpaper about his valiant service in WWII, the number one candidate for who was running the show is...one former ex-chief of the CIA with strong links to the drugs trade, international terrorist organizations best remembered for raping nuns with bayonets, the Saudi Royal Family and a little CIA-backed insurgency in a backwater called Afghanistan....
