Need both. Whichever gets the job done.

This.

However I do tend to get stuck in the "Happy Fun Kumbayah Chaos"... although I really think that is a poor way of saying it as it isn't really "happy, nor "Kumbayah". But like the Destructive aspect, it sure is fun.  :lulz:

Got a feeling it might end up there, anyway.  Because TGRR is not worth asking, you know?

My apologies. When I said (with proper attribution) I honestly meant concerning both the graphic and text.

I really did not mean to step on any toes if I did. I just get excited by the cool stuff that come out from here. If you would rather it not show up there, it won't.

Seriously Roger, I am sorry if that pissed you off.

It takes more than that to piss me off.  I mean, any more than I'm pissed off by virtue of being awake.  You can use it, as far as I'm concerned, provided that it's attributed to Paes and I, respectively.

The concern I expressed above (the suspicion thing) is more along the lines of "Is Trisha here to be a member of the board, or just to create an alternate site for the content?"

I mean, it's not like traffic isn't suffering already, but on the other hand, it's not like shit here is organized.  On the gripping hand, it seems kinda creepy having someone who just sieves through the content without saying much, and who self-promotes on the rare occasion of posting.

We've had that before, you see.  It didn't end well.

I understand. And your concern is seriously noted. It wasn't my intention to "siphon" off the content although I easily see how that comes across. I completely want to be a member of the board, and I will do my best to prove that. If you like (and I am aware you are not asking me to do it), but I can take down the site in the mean time until I establish myself here more.

The community here means more to me than the site, but the site is meant to be for the community here as the majority of the content has come from here... I think. Judas and I just wanted an easier location to house all the content. Hell, if you want the site could go down and still leave all the links up just through this forum alone.

Regardless, I want to be a regular member here, contributing like anyone else.

I don't see why you'd have to do anything to the other site.  Plenty of people archive stuff they've found here (hell, there's a book of my sermons floating around on bittorrent that I had no idea about until a couple of years ago, and Cram & LMNO's stuff is everywhere).

But yeah, contributing in any sense is important...Otherwise, you're standing outside of the glass, gawking at the weird, instead of rolling around in it like a proper biped.

Understood and done.  :) Besides, I think I will enjoy rolling around in the weird.

And I realize even that wasn't a good enough apology as I just failed to even ask you at all even with proper attribution.

Again, sorry. No, nothing will be on my site of yours until I ask you and you say it's ok. That goes for anything from here from anyone. I am very sorry if I have done that in the past and it won't happen any further.

Again Roger, I am sorry if I pissed you off.

This is too awesome! Mind if I put this on my site (with proper attribution of course)?

Glad to have you hear and as was said, the pool's on the roof and if I may do some self promotion, please check out the links on my sig and also on the sig of LMNO for some awesome stuff.

Squeak at ya later!  :)

You're all fools for not converting to platinum standard before the pendulum swings in its direction.  I've been investing all of my money in platinum standard since I was 10.  I have .00024 ounces of PURE platinum.  Platinum is the only medium that continues to rise.  It's at a all time high.  My safe (combination 682448265489618 (binary for ahahahahaha)) buried in the third floorboard down and seventh floorboard in from the rightmost cabinet by the stove is the sole depository of my worldly wealth, which, unlike you FEDERAL RESERVE STANDARD idiots, is actually manifest and verifiable.

Ron Paul '12.

Like you, I also planned in advance. I actually managed to hoard way more than that paltry amount. Instead I have a whopping .00050 ounces of pure platinum... except mine is in a shoe-box under the toilet at 1060 W. Addison in Chicago. But I mean I am certain it is pretty safe.

However, taking all this into account... My identity seems like nothing more than a pleasant illusion. Maybe I should get rid of it?

I don't think you need to get rid of it so-to-speak... just realize there is more to you than most people realize about themselves. I don't know, maybe I am talking out of my ass but I am reminded of that famous quote by Walt Whitman I think it is...
QuoteDo I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes.

Ok. Your identity is (here anyhow) Mistre. There is much that makes up that identity, not just one single thing. I apologize if I am not helping, but this also reminds me of the Black Iron Prison if you have read it. If not I strongly suggest it. If you have read it, read it again perhaps. Personally I think it would really help and give a different perspective on your situation.

I do ALLOT of reading of the threads here, and I came across one by Cainad who wrote a Black Iron Prison type bit of prose. I will quote it here:
QuoteDo you know where you are?
These four walls, this ceiling, this floor?
This is your life. This is your cell.
Welcome to your Black Iron Prison.

Don't panic, you're not here to be punished.
You were born here.
This is your cell. This is your life. This is all you know.

Beneath you, you can see the floor made by your parents and teachers.
To your left and right, society, media, and your peers make two walls.
Above you, there is a ceiling just barely too high to touch: these are your dreams.
Behind you, the darkest shadows are cast on the third wall, the wall made by your fears.
The light shines through the bars in front of you, through the fourth wall.
But this wall is not a wall. The bars are different, somehow.

These six sides hold you in, safe within a tiny cell of truth.
Take hold of the bars; feel the cold, Black Iron.
What are these bars? Why are they different from the other five sides?

You made these bars.
The light shines through them, but still they hold you in as surely as a solid wall.
They are your beliefs, your thoughts, your identity.
Every time you tell yourself, "I am this, I am that, I am not these other things," you create
another bar.
The stronger your beliefs, the stronger the bars become.

You can break some of those bars, if you choose.
If you are not afraid.
Or you can build more bars, making them thicker and closer together.
It doesn't matter which beliefs make the bars; they all block the light.

I could be very wrong about this, confusing the problem entirely and if so you can just ignore this entire post... but honestly the things you are concerned with and are mentioning "seem to me" to be discussed in the Black Iron Prison book. No "solutions" are offered in it, but all the same I believe it will help. Some people accuse the BIP of being dark and depressing. I can see the "dark" bit of it, but depressing? I consider it refreshing and from "my" perspective, rather enlightening.

Good luck.  :)

Bummer? Nonsense.

If you are the sum and product and factorial of your experiences, then you are intimately connected to the entire Universe.

I must agree with this and put up my favorite quote from the Chao Te Ching...

Quote from:  "The Chao Te Ching" Chapter 13Having and not having
both create frustration.
"Possessing" always comes served with a golden apple.
Being "The Prettiest One" cultivates pride and makes others ugly.
Not being "The Prettiest One" cultivates envy and leads to war.
Expand your definition of Self to include the Universe;
This way you can have it all with nothing to lose.

I also fully support this project.

Also, if you liked "Hey Jim", have you heard The Spider Project yet?  We've been setting the text to music (for a given value of "music").  It's stalled as of late, only about halfway through, but there are still 23 ( :fnord: ) to enjoy for the moment.

Thank you for saying so LMNO. It means allot to me that you like this concept.

As for the Spider Project, I actually was at the site for that last night and I did download a few of the tracks. I have up to Rant 11. I am loving them so far. I will certainly be getting more and anxiously await the remainder.

I've got nothing to add. I just wanted to say that you make me think of meteors hitting fried chicken restaurants.

Which also makes me want to get fried chicken.

:lulz: Damn you, now I want fried chicken. I think I shall go get some.  :lulz:

Rev. Judas IMOK and I put together a compilation book that we wanted to give to the community here. It is contains nothing new and many of you likely already have all the contents of it individually. However for anyone new coming in here, I thought it would be good to have these books in a single PDF

Along with a few random documents spread throughout the book and the PD, it contains

The Wise Book of Baloney,
The Et Cetera Discordia, (great book, but at 127MB, it pushes the overall size to 147MB)
The Black Iron Prison
and The Chao Te Ching.

We dedicate this PDF to the PD.com community and hope at least some you enjoy it. If not mistaken, all the contents except the PD originated from the community here so we have you all to blame.

Thank ya.

For more info about the logic behind the selection, I have more info at
