Today is the day we all take a moment to remember all the way back to 1918, when a pack of assholes from each of the belligerant nations decided to end the war, but keep the fighting going for 6 hours so they could end things at 11:11 on 11/11.
And yeah, officers did manage to get their men killed in that 6 hour gap.

For justice! For peace! For symmetry! Shitbags.
Or as ITV News would have it, 99 years ago today, WWI started.
No link sorry, but I did witness it with my own eyes and ears.

Some of the most tragic tales from WW1 are in the hours leading up to the official end. Never underestimate a monkeys determination to get the last slap in.
It's like people putting important things off until mercury retrograde is over.
Assbolts.
That is surprisingly terrible, and I thought I was beyond being surprised by terrible.

They did of course think that this was going to be the very last war ever. They had to get their yuks in before they had to hang up the poison gas canisters and became painters and MPs and Head Accountants.

Well, it WAS called "the war to end all wars". Poor labeling is at fault, here.

Hmmm, can I report them to trading standards then?

Obviously. And it will have precisely the same impact as other reports to that august body.

Oh well. Let's just enjoy the wars we still have then, before mankind gets all "evolved sensibility" on us and ruins everything.

I don't think there's any rush on that account.
