I don't want to disappoint the All-Father, and this is more than an excuse to mention "my" site again  :lulz: www.theecod.org
They give a web domain to anyone but this site, not "my" site,  is robust and fun. It is awesome - thanks for noticing!

Good Reverend Roger, you were neither "trying" as was AFN nor did you put in any real effort. It is no wonder Discordians do not have a reputation at-large and that within esoteric circles your rep... you're reputation is as a clique of aging fucks with receding hair-lines and diminishing relevance. The problem is theological.
Note the correction to my grammar in my original post - I was indeed a dumb ass. However, I recognized and corrected the mistake, something "The Decider" -George-the-Lesser would never do. (My father personally fished George the Greater out of the S.Pacific, though a life-long Republican he did say before he passed that he "wished he had thrown the bastard back.")
So, why aren't things going well? If you are the Good Reverend referred to in the Spider Rants, then enough said. The material sounds as if it were recorded in a college dorm room by old dudes whose presence there is just creepy.
I posted this topic here at your suggestion in PM.
Bring it.

Junkenstein, Don't give up now we have our feet in Mundania, the fun shit starts when we discuss theology.  :argh!: Perhaps you are psychic and know what I am thinking, fnord clique o' the cranky  fnord clique o' the cranky  fnord clique o' the cranky  fnord clique o' the cranky  fnord clique o' the cranky.
All Father Nigel, with over 569,000 comments on line - you likely spend too much time in your virtual neighborhood to know what is going on in your actual neighborhood. (Newbies - See thread re: Why I Am Not an Anarchist to discover what the fuck we are talking about here.) (4Q AFN I am not a genius or a racist and the ringing in your ears does not concern me )

Junkenstein -My reception here has been as anticipated, I am not a stranger to this site.  :fnord:
Uncle Al wrote, "All words are lies." - the map is not the terrain. I prefer to lie like Carl Jung than lie like a rug.  :)

Good Reverend Roger- my initial response was - do we have enough time and energy to adequately address "what is not going well?" however my next response was that "going well" vs. "not going well" is a perception and a manifestation of an individual's relationship to reality.
I am now reminded of Ken Kesey, to paraphrase, we are working on a lot of levels here.
I accept Carl Jung's view that for humans to be sane balanced and productive they need exhibit three realms: the physical, body; the mental, consciousness and the spiritual, soul. These need be integrated, reified and ritually purified for the individual to reach their potential and to empower their soul.
Ultimately - hell yes I want you to tell me why things aren't going well!!!
(You're opinion matters, your wise.)

Thank-you all for reading my article, your feedback has been duly noted.
Keen insight, it is indeed true the article has no point. Just as a point is a location in space, without space there can be no point. This article was intended to create space - others have made points. Point one, not everyone agrees that we live in an increasingly Orwellian hellscape, that the quality of life for most people is deteriorating - okay. Point two the experiences in my life, hanging around with Leftists, for example, can be deemed "the problem"- thanks for that tidbit. Point three, quite a robust use of the quote function. Also, Rev. Stupid has a ring to it, a kindergarten ring but a ring none the less. (I may someday find the need to hide behind a pseudonym, if so, I will pick up the moniker. It is more accessible than Stucifer.)
Context may help Discordians get the non-existent point. The piece was originally a sermon delivered in my church. (Perhaps read it out loud with feeling.) Afterwards we discussed emergent religion and the nature of the Left. Think Monty Python's Life of Brian.- The People's front of Judea not the Judean People's Front - Follow the shoe, no follow the gourd.
The second use of Bring It was in print, with other self-serving pontification (propaganda) and dark humor, it was distributed on Mayday to members of various cliques.

Principia Discussion / Why I Am an Anti-archist
June 02, 2014, 06:51:29 PM
Thirty-nine years ago the article Why I Am Not an Anarchist was written. From my perspective the quality of life for most people has not improved since that time. Of course I was young then and things were likely worse than I was aware. One thing I have noticed is that an activist is hard to find. There is no shortage of talkavists. I have had such a feeling of deja vu watching and listening to the same conversation/debate/pre-planning session unfold in the same manner with roles performed by people dressed the same, groomed the same - Occupy has been  like time travel. Here is a piece I wrote on the topic about two years ago. Enjoy!
Bring It!

Let me see if I have this straight; there are Socialists, Communists, Anarchists, Cascadians, Radicals and activists. Each of these, dare I say, larger groups serves as a branch of the family tree supporting a plethora of smaller branches, twigs and splinter groups we know and love as the Left.

I present this analogy; every discussion of the specific nature of the new paradigm--every steering committee decision--all the long-term goal setting--all the noble visions of the future are like deciding if we envision Black Walnut ice cream or French Vanilla. Turns out someone should milk the cow.

Does anyone need a lesson on what it means to be condescending? Pretentious? Elitist? Have you ever felt that someone was talking down to you?

(Example) "If you don't understand try using a dictionary!"

Less is more.

If the people rise up in any way and force the wealthiest folk and their corporations and their bought and paid for federal government to be held accountable for their actions--then we will all be in this together--all of us; the police, the social workers, the priests, the thespians, the sociopaths and the psychopaths, the kind and the mean.

We can be movers and shakers. We can hasten the changes our culture needs to make to assure that future generations do not live their lives as slaves. However, we, like Moses, are not destined to see the Promised Land. I have been hanging out with Leftists my entire life and I clearly count myself among their numbers, but our collected influence is less than marginal. What are we arguing about, really? Lofty and heart felt ideals, the power of the truth, abundant facts--yet here we are. Foil hat wearing conspiracy thinkers, wackos, nut jobs and bandanna wearing bomb-throwing crazies. Sounds like a party, will there be dancing?

How American is it to walk softly but carry a big stick? The left need not educate the people. We do not believe as the D's & R's that tolerance and acceptance equal approval and a mandate from the people. The system is wide spread and thus stretched thin. We as individuals can all agree--"Out with the old!" and then well,...come what may. Everyone is aware of the corruption, the greed, the nepotism, cronyism, blatant theft and bald faced lying that is and has been at the heart of the American Empire. (Whoever said, "crime doesn't pay," was thinking small.)

They are who they are. We are who we are. No shame in our game. Bring it!

OK- I recant, I am a dumb-ass and often a smart-ass. This will (likely) be my final comment on this particular thread, though I will read on.  I was attracted to this thread over others because of my church's support of anarchy. See http://theecod.org/stu.html and play - enjoy.
Jamil Myrick was a kindhearted and gang-affected (yes, with an "a") teenager. He was polite when he met my wife. I worked with him as an alternative education teacher in a contained classroom for a full year, He was shot dead while riding his bicycle with friends at 15th and Alberta, June 14, 1997. The police wrote it off as gang related violence and it is a cold case. Not cool.
I think I will attempt to start an OARC (Obverse Abbey of the Rising Collapse) discussion, a place where Portland Discordians can bring new meaning to Rip City. We can role model spirited debate - virtual and actual.

All-Father said:
I believe I've seen you there in the past, and I will make a point of saying hi and buying some cotton candy if I ever find myself mistakenly on Alberta during Last Thursday ever again. I live in the neighborhood, and do my best to avoid it.
"This was after his initial response to me :Dude, some of us live in Portland and know." Somewhere in here he said I seem to be a racist.
He goes on to say - What I love is that I tried to be friendly and even offered to line his pockets, and he decided to use it as an opportunity to shit on me just for living here and trying to avoid the street fair.
Seems dumb ass works for all.
New reading material, re: the French Uprising - when tours were given at Versailles in the mid 80's there was a section of wall near the kitchen that had been blown up by anarchists - the guide explained that it was a part of the tour to have tourists understand that not all French people were happy with the gov't spending money to refurbish the palace. Hundreds of thousands of people heard the story. The story lives. How does anything turn out? This is a Discordian thread, yes?
Wow that did escalate quickly, what fun.

What a great Last Thursday - a good time seemed to be had by most. Great read since my last post! Hail Eris! Yes, I reported being called a dumbass by All-Father, for two reasons. First, I felt the vitriol of his comment was unwarranted and did not want to go on about how I have been called worse by people that know me. Dumb-ass is not one of the accurate terms. Second, now that my doors are open to Discordians and we have a stable temple space - I have been checking out how things work, or don't, at least in the now - the hodge and podge. I am not a dumb ass. I do not claim to be a champion of the artists. I support the Six Days Art Co-op by giving them a healthy cut of the money I generate. However, I have worked with gang affected, yes - with an "a", youth. Jamil Myrick was a student of mine and he was shot dead at 15th and Alberta. My church as met at 28th and Alberta for two years.
"Read Reich and act accordingly!" "Those who lack imagination cannot imagine what is lacking." "A cop sleeps inside each one of us. We must kill him. Drive the cop out of your head." These are three of my favorite slogans from Anarchists, from the French Uprising 1968
