See at PD "yammering" is a compound word with quite an upsetting definition.

Heard about this on NPR today. The CEO is stepping down and "taking responsibility" but not taking the blame as a conspirator. I thought I heard something like $18bn in potential fines spanning several nations and empowered international NGOs.

I think it would be funny if a person were to get arrested and detained for an exceptionally intricate steampunk fetish. They might accidentally, but actually, bring a bomb to school made of clockwork when they decide to misuse a large high-pressure CO2 canister to grossly overpower a VERY poorly designed apparatus intended to be decorative and cool looking. Good thing it exploded in the steampunker's locker when the evil and repressive regime running the school told him, forced him, to remove it while in class. Could bury a bunch of brass gears in a brick wall if they were heavy and sharp enough.

So you know Meunster I'm going pretty far from an actual parody or "fan fiction" with the story of Barry, but I will eventually get a similar concept short story that is a bit of intentional parody out first. See, if it was "ME" sending an angel into your "life" I wouldn't send a Cherub. That would just be silly, and I could use a good warm up story to get me started.  :)

How can you slam the steampunk community so hard in one paragraph?

Also cool, I turned the idea into a mlp fanfic and am giving updates to my small fanbase of autistic neets who will suck dick for green.

Because I like steampunk and am subconsciously conflicted from all the repression.

Have at. Also tricking autistic people into sexual favors with their favorite color is extra squicky Muenster.

What's a "neet"?

To be honest, I'd be more interested in seeing what our collective EQ is.

Probably higher than you would expect.

Very interested in seeing where PD lies on the autism spectrum.

Hi Guys!

Just passin' through. Saw that my last post before yesterday was exactly a year ago, so I thought I would celebrate it.

Wizard Joseph - sorry the link didn't work. It means you miss out on AKK's 'troll lessons'. Shame he doesn't have a student testimonial section so we could write back and explain how he was completely terrible at trolling and his time at PD was measured in minutes rather than days. Still, not actually the worst of the 'UNLIMITED thread' offenders IIRC.

Basically, congratulations. I believe you are so far, the only person who climbed out of the 'unlimited' category and made it to regular poster. Think we need to study how that happened and leave a sticky for new members. 'The redemption of Wizard Joseph - how to turn the lemons of butthurt into the lemonade of acceptance'. (working title)

Ahh, the sweet citrus smell of group dynamics.

Mang'

Greetings Mang'!

I'm not certain that I can explain how it is that I came to be where I am, but I can attempt to recall my perspective and personal thoughts some.

I suspect that a fair amount of the initial issues I had were due to lack of contact with "The Internet" in a social sense. For me it was a thing I used to acquire knowledge, not a place I look to for social relations. I literally had never heard and misunderstood the term butthurt for example.

There were very weird, synchronistic IRL things on my end of this reality tunnel we call PD that I don't fully recall, but that lent a sense of the need for caution and I quickly realized that it meant that I should read more than I post, and I did. I still managed to make an ass of myself several more times, but that was now part of a learning process. It was getting the UNLIMITED thread that made me realize that there was a certain social order to things and factors at play that I didn't fully understand.

It was bizarrely synchronistic that Roger chose to mention garbage collection in the thread title as the "Wizard" character in the ongoing fictional cosmos I've long been working on is first taken in by "incorporeal beings" that might be called "garbage spirits" shortly after barely surviving arriving on Earth and discovering that he is effectively marooned and nearly powerless on a profoundly hostile world.

I was provoked to writing some of it down on a thread somewhere around here.

I can tell you that I am a statistical outlier testing at IQ 190 for linguistic comprehension, pattern recognition, and symbol interpretation but otherwise only on the bright side of average for a composite score of 155. I'm not a college graduate. I will be one day.

I have a thread otherwise about myself posted. I'll add to it again pretty soon, I'm a slow writer and am using an Android phone for Internet these days.

If I might ask what was your first experience with PD? I'm also very curious to hear your or any other folks' impressions and will happily answer any questions as I can.

FUCK YOU MY FAMILY WAS KILLED BY BANDS OF ASSRAPING YAMS!

ASSRAPING YAMS.

NIGEL WILL HAMMER YAMS UP ALTY'S ASS

IF ALTY ASKS NICELY.

Given the current state of things, this thread became extremely awkward AWESOME.

:lulz: See anybody can make it "FB Official". To make it PD official you need to have yams and a 4 year old prophecy involving assrape. It's intricate and beautiful.

Woah! Very glad for you. I had thought that Alty was in Alaska.

He moved to Portland some time ago.

Sounds like the best decision that dude ever did make. I believe he was actually the first person I talked to when I got here. Set me straight on my spelling, and told the noob a thing or two about Eris as I recall. Glad he's doing well!

OH GOD LIES IS STILL POSTING ON MY FB STATUS

Tag me?  I can't find it.

He's talking about cultural libertarianism, another Breitbart inspired talking point.

That DARVO concept seemed a bit more like meme marketing than science to me. Not to question the scholarship per se, she disclaimed the holes readily, but the mnemonic simplicity seemed to be the big selling point.  It certainly got a bunch of repeats in the comment he linked from.

Those behaviors are often highly complex in both motivation and expression. This is readily admitted by the author. It is also, clearly, a readily thrown insult that in itself can throw an accusation and place someone being an aggressive jerk, and suddenly under fire for it, into the role of victim. DARVO can literally be used to do what it stands for. This is only possible because it grossly oversimplifies and packages a bunch of concepts into a readily recognized, but wholly new, mnemonic device. Not at all familiar enough with the scholar to speculate as to whether this was intentional or not. It's far too late for accusations now anyway.

It's Goddamn weaponized hermaneutics and these fuckers probably don't even know what that means, but they can link to it. They will inevitably keep linking to it.
If it gets enough funding to become an Actual Thing it will balloon exponentially, if that hasn't already happened. If it has soon we could all be DARVO victims.

I wish there was such a thing as ontological inoculation.

It's pretty dead tonight. You all go to the other bar without me?

Travelling for work, not that I post more then twice a month anyway.

Safe journeys Faust. The wizards in my fiction use the phrase "May you never lose the stars" as a travel blessing.

It was a pic of me as a little kid wrapped up in a white blanket like a Greek philosopher and eating something while my crazy Auntie laughed in the background.

Fucking with zoe quinn was fun when I was in my nazi /pol/ phase,

Two steps forward, three steps back.  What the fuck, man?

Nobody ever listens.  I'm always right, and nobody listens.

I'm like Casandra with a dick.  Tellin' ya.

Hey, that was like a year ago, I'm completely different now. Stopped with the hole angry teen looking for a revolution bullshit. Now I'm just chill and try to be nice to everyone.

Wait, what?

"Oh ja, ja I used to be Nazi but it's all gut now, honest! I don't have any real problems mit der juden now! Forgive unt forget, that's what I say!" ~pretty much the entire defence of the Nazis in the dock at Nuremberg.

Well real jews aren't anything like what they teach you in /pol/ school. The evil juden are more a cautionary tale of greed that no real human can embody. Also doesn't really matter if they're religious anyone can be greedy and cruel.

Ahhhh, I see. So it's what the Jew represents, not the actual Jew theirself that is evil. The stereotype of the Jew at least. I just, however, have one question:

In what substantive fucking way is that any different to any other brand of antisemitism that has existed for thousands of years from the Romans to Edward I, from centuries of pogroms in Russia to the actual fucking Nazis?

Well... I'm betting he has no stomach for actual blood on his hands, Meunster's is more of a cautionary tale of angst addiction and attention whoring that nobody with an actual personality could embody. It doesn't matter if an ethos represents actual repression and murder, anyone can be a fuckwit.
