My tattoo is a symbol that doesn't really mean anything. The tattoo itself means a lot to me, but the symbol is indefinitive, so to speak.
It means loads of things in different contexts, so it can be interpreted in countless ways.

I got it spontaneously while I was in the Netherlands a few years ago. It was sort of a leap of faith, one of those "it just felt good so I did it" things. Don't even remember where the idea originally came from, and I surely didn't think about it too long.

It's always fun to hear or come up with new meanings. It's also interesting to see, how the personally meaningful interpretations vary over time.

And, mind you, I was sober.

Hello! I know nothing about Finland, but it looks pretty. And I like your dog.

Yeah, the dog looks nice and has an ego of goddamn Napoleon and Saddam Hussein combined. Last time I saw the bug, it was trying to attack a truck.

edit: didn't run fast enough and therefore is still alive, luckily.

What's with all the different areas of study? Do you just end up getting bored with something and move onto to something else, or are you taking them all at once?

I'm taking them all at once. The list didn't include the subjects I started but  got bored with. Those would include German and English philology. It's not as bad as it sounds, though - some of those subjects are so called short minors, so it's manageable to study them at the same time.

I know all the words to the Monty Python song about it, does that count?

Definitely.

pharmakon; dear Watson or holy Watson.

Location: Southern Finland.

University student. Cultural anthropology, comparative religion, psychology, sustainable development... I'll probably never a) graduate b) find a job.

I don't have too much free time, and the little I've got I tend to fill with student alliance stuff, writing, getting drunk , singing, fixing the car or mending the roof with my old man and having conversations with friends both online and IRL.

The first time I heard about Eris and Discordianism was some two or three years ago. More or less lunatic friend of mine sent me some quotes from Principia, and I got curious... and curiosity is a sin. Now I know, why.

Also,

The only reason I trust you Americans to recognize the president of Finland is Conan O'Brian. (The guy ponting at her boobs is the minister of foreign affairs.)

Sorry about all the ads crap on that page, you might want to get the Readability Bookmarklet which works wonders on pages like this (it's a thingy link that you can drag to your browser toolbar so that it becomes a button. Then when you visit a horrible page with horrible markup, you click the button and it will automagically transform the site into a pleasantly readable just-the-article-and-images version--try it out, you'll love it).

You just made my life so much better.

Turku, Finland. Very nice place. I like Amsterdam and Utrecht, too.

HS:
QuoteCountries such as the US, Britain, France and Germany, have advised their citizens against making any non-essential trips into areas hit by forest and peat bog fires.

Russia's chief medical officer Gennadi Onishtshenko blasted the official warnings as an "unfriendly gesture".

Very rude indeed.

I've had some interesting jobs in my life...

This is what I look like most of the time. Sad but true.

Do you vote? - Yes
Will you vote? - Yes
If not, why not? - I wouldn't vote in a situation, where there's only (equally) bad options available.
Do you think voting is a civic responsibility? - Yes. Mandatory voting would be problematic, though. I think this civic responsibility includes the right to decide not to vote.
Do you think your vote matters? - Yes.
Should Independent voters be allowed to vote in primaries? - While I only know the basics about this system, yes.

1) The first band/musician you got into

Apocalyptica (I know.)

2) Overall favorite band/musician of all time

Shit, this one's tough.

Max Richter and Kissogram.

3) The newest or most recent band/musician you got into. (should be a new-ish band, not an old/established artist you just discovered.)

Second Person. Not that new, though... released their first album in 2004.
