Quote from: Abbot Mythos on Yesterday at 04:12:10 AMSo, what's the sociopath-in-chief to do? Love triangles are a bitch.
So, it appears we won't be treated to the next episode of this particular reality TV show spin off for a couple of weeks. I'm uncertain if I should be relieved by the delay, or not.

It just goes to show that resolving a love triangle really is a bitch.

It occurred to me, at the time of this posting, that I'm watching a love triangle involving 'Merica's sociopath-in-chief, Russia's Vladimir Putin, and Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu. It appears the sociopath-in-chief is currently having a lover's quarrel with Putin, while also being in love with Netanyahu.

On the one hand, I suspect the sociopath-in-chief believes that if he can get credit for orchestrating a Russian-Ukrainian peace deal, he can win himself a Nobel Peace Prize, and get to build Trump Towers in Moscow and St. Petersburg. So, in the malignant narcissist's mind, that is an easy, low risk, ego stroking, double win out there for the taking.

On the other hand, if the sociopath backs Netanyahu, I suspect he's thinking he could bask in the glory of being a victorious, wartime president for the rest of his life, secure the eternal adulation of 'Merica's evangelicals, be outright deified by his shit-eating MAGAts, all the while profiting bigly off of 'Merica's vast military-industrial complex. So, being a chickenhawk, a malignant narcissist, and indescribably greedy, this option has to be extremely tempting. In fact, I don't doubt he's literally salivating over it.

Still, there are many very real, very significant risks involved with backing Netanyahu, if the plan were to go South. So, by comparison, backing Putin is a far, far safer bet. In addition, I'm sure Putin is calling the sociopath-in-chief several times a day, trying to sweet-talk the turd into backing him instead. After all, if Iran goes to war with anyone, Russia is guaranteed to lose access to all of the drones, ballistic missiles, ammunition, etc., that Iran is currently supplying to Putin's bogged down war effort.

So, what's the sociopath-in-chief to do? Love triangles are a bitch.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, what we've always known to be true has been scientifically proven, according to the following study:

Study finds Republicans flagged for posting misleading tweets twice as often as Democrats on Community Notes

As per this study:

""Our findings provide strong evidence of a partisan asymmetry in misinformation sharing which cannot be attributed to political bias on the part of fact-checkers or academic researchers," said Professor Mohsen Mosleh, associate professor of social data science at the Oxford Internet Institute, part of the University of Oxford.

"Even on Elon Musk's X, the user-based Community Notes program flags posts by Republicans as misleading much more often than posts by Democrats. This undercuts the logic offered by Musk and Mark Zuckerberg for eliminating fact-checkers on X and Meta, respectively, namely that fact-checkers are biased against Republicans.""

Now, I want to find a scientific study about the average Republican Intelligence Quotient. I suspect the conclusions of such a study will be equally unsurprising.

Following is a long article about another well known Republicult™ turd.

I won't bore anyone with quotations. But, I found this article to be a little comforting, after noting it had been published on The Salt Lake Tribune website.

'This is not a joke': Sen. Amy Klobuchar rips Mike Lee for posts about a deadly Minnesota shooting

On a personal X account, Lee made apparent jokes tying the violence to Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz.

It's good to know there are some actual human beings to be found even within a bastion of The Republicult™. We need everyone we can muster to fight back against a political cult that has clearly embraced domestic terrorism.

Quote from: Pope Mome Apocrypha on June 16, 2025, 07:42:42 PMI know myself and quite a few others were able to register for tickets and then simply not show up, among friends we were able to block out about 50 seats for everyone from Ben Dover to Homme Orange
As we used to say, back in the day, in my old neighborhood, "Ya done good!"

As of the time of this posting, the turd-in-chief has not called Governor Walz of Minnesota to offer his condolences after the politically motivated shootings of two Democratic politicians and their wives, one couple of which did not survive their attacks. Further, when the MSM has asked the turd about any communications he may have had with Governor Walz, the piece of shit responded with political insults.

The English language simply does not contain words strong enough to describe my disgust with the turd, and the shit-eating MAGAts who adore him. I can no longer look at a video, or a picture of that piece of shit, and see anything even remotely resembling a human being.

Quote from: Faust on June 15, 2025, 08:18:29 PMI guarantee you the attendance numbers didn't matter and most of the event was contracted to trump family subsidiaries at a premium cost.
Given the turd-in-chief is an entity of classless, bottomless greed, I don't doubt the First Crime Family made every effort to monetize their reality TV performance.

On a couple of the short video clips of the parade that I bothered to watch, I was surprised to learn that the appearance of the U.S. Army was sponsored by Coinbase, and Palantir. It had never occurred to me that the U.S. Army needed corporate sponsors to show up for photo ops. You can not make up stuff like this.

It literally happened! Yesterday, on Saturday, June 14th, The Republicult™ actually went on parade bigly! The Turd Reich, in honor of its dictator wannabe, staged their version of a Moscow Victory Day Parade in Washington, D.C.

Unfortunately for a fascist regime that produces reality TV performances for its adoring, shit-eating MAGAt followers, this show appears to have been a ratings bust. Now, the official TV rating numbers aren't in yet, but the video footage clearly shows near empty bleachers along the parade route. And, I haven't seen any estimates of the parade crowd size above 10,000 people.

In conclusion, I don't foresee the Turd-in-chief being awarded an Emmy for this reality TV show either.

Quote from: Bruno on June 15, 2025, 01:13:09 AMWent to a No Kings protest today. Turnout was about 1500, which is pretty good for my podunk little town.

Only had a couple yahoos shouting obscenities at us from their cars. I pointed and laughed at them.

Fun stuff.
Bravo!

Quote from: Faust on June 14, 2025, 10:57:09 PMYeah, after there was no pushback, and active encouragement of the retaliatory murders on innocent civilian populations in gaza, that would have have given the government of Israel the chance to test what the limits of this new relationship was, if they were not actively working with the US to set up this operation.

My biggest fear is Iran will get support from other countries, this will lead to escalation, I Dont understand it but Bibi's goverment seem to want world war 3.
It's been my assumption that Netanyahu acted unilaterally in attacking Iran, simply because I don't believe the turd administration is capable of intentionally becoming involved in anything without turning it into an episode of reality TV. But, I admit, my assumption is extremely cynical, and I could be wrong.

I also haven't payed much attention to Iran itself for quite a while. I've been viewing them as being a wealthy "proxy war" sponsor, but not a country having dependable, powerful allies. But, I could be wrong about that too.

So, if this thing does continue to escalate, who do you think will throw in with Iran, and also has the real, military power to actually make a difference?

Quote from: Faust on June 13, 2025, 10:49:52 AMReally horrified with the unprovoked preemptive attack of Iran. Nuclear talks were due to continue next week, now they are impossible which is exactly what Isreal wants, to make all out war inevitable.
Your horror is justified. I'm appalled that, once again, the government of the U.S. of A. is allowing the government of the State of Israel to dictate our foreign policy. I have never been able to wrap my head around this behavior.

I don't doubt that after Netanyahu was certain our shit-eating MAGAt-in-chief was going to allow him to blatantly commit genocide, he realized he could do anything, to anyone, anywhere in the world, and the U.S. of A. wouldn't do a goddamn, fucking thing to stop him.

Needless to say, I am not proud to be an American.

From what's happened to date, it does appear that the scattered leaders of the Resistance 2.0 are well aware the shit-eating MAGAt-in-chief is intentionally attempting to provoke responses to his fascist regime that will give him an excuse to declare martial law. I write this because most of the protests to date have been peaceful, and the fascists are not helping their cause by the ways they've overreacted to them.

And, I agree, the fascists have turned U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) into their very own version of the Geheime Staatspolizei. I believe we have a Jewish 'Merican Nazi to thank for this accomplishment. Only in 'Merica.

I suspect a few of us will be out in the streets this weekend. And, we won't even have to riot to attract the attention of the shit-eating MAGAts.

Quote from: Faust on June 06, 2025, 02:25:35 PMYeah its grim that american politics is playing out in tweets.

Bribe and Bribee is a funny way to put it, my take is that the man who purchased a country (living the american dream) is now unhappy with the quality of the merchendise he paid for.
I saw something in the news the other day about the old 1950's Amos 'n' Andy comedy TV show. It reminded me of the dichotomies, like "briber and bribee," that the main characters of the show used in their dialogues. And, when I did a spell check and found that "bribee" is a legitimate word, I had to use it.

Anyway, I suspect Elmo the Oligarch's next move will be to try to buy himself a few Republicult™ senators.

I don't believe Elmo is going to give up on his dream of establishing a colony on Mars. And, buying NASA, and then control of the resources of the U.S. of A. is the only remotely possible way for him to realize his dream in his own lifetime.

I suspect this drama may have much to do with Taco Taco Turd wanting far more for NASA than Elmo the Oligarch is currently willing to pay. After all, Felon 47 has already made so much money since getting back in the White House that mere hundreds of millions here and there is starting to look like chump change. And, it is possible for even an amoral oligarch to have an occasional cash flow problem.

I'm amused, but it's unclear to me where this current reality TV episode is going. This may very well turn out to be no more than a pause in negotiations between a determined, extremely wealthy briber, and an extremely greedy bribee.
