I feel like I can't express myself lately.

Over the past few months even basic points that should be easy to get across are constantly causing misconceptions and arguments at work, in my personal life, everywhere.

I haven't been able to write fiction in years and now it feels like I'm losing nonfiction too.

Ever since I was a kid I kind of considered words to be my thing.

I don't really know what I've got left without that.

I feel you there on the fiction thing.  I haven't written anything more than a couple of pages since late 2015.

I got a job offer that is absolutely covered in red flags but has enough potential to be legitimate that I can't ignore it, the pay is ridiculous and it's completely remote, and I won't be talking to cops or fielding phone calls WHILE listening to the radio WHILE monitoring text messages WHILE checking for camera alerts WHILE... which means I will be less goddamn tired all the time and might actually have the energy to exist again. It's scary though. I've never had to give notice before. And not knowing 100% that this isn't a scam and I'm not being spearphished is... well it's sure as fuck not helping.

If you PM me the details, I can work the old google fu on it.

I also have access to D&B now.

I hadn't been paying much attention to the whole mess.  The only criticism I have of TTM as a mod is making this thread a sticky, thus pushing the drama more in the faces of those of us who ere ignoring it.

Considering you're not the first to complain about it, I'm unstickying the thread. I think it has the attention of a sufficient amount of people affected by the problem and has gauged the mood of the forum. If it continues to be a hot topic it will stay towards the top, if not it will die and if we're all lucky this drama will die with it.

As far as the PMing goes, I assumed Nigel was full of shit and just trying to troll. In light of the fact that this is an actual feature of the forum (last time ignoring was discussed it was deemed not technically possible), I will never PM anyone who tells me I am on their ignore list unless there is a mod-related reason to do so.

That said, Nigel continued to PM me when I told her
1) That it was water under the bridge as far as I was concerned
2) To fuck off
3) To let it go
...and she continually PMed me with the obvious intent of continuing to cause trouble, but that's what she does: She's a bully and a drama whore (among other things).

I called her on it the first time she tried stirring shit with me and it shut her up for a while but then she tried again and I decided that I should play along. This is where it has led.

As far as renaming thread titles, the only renaming that was done was when I split Nigel's trolling out of a thread and left the first post in the thread as hers so that she could rename it (and she did) and did not leave any sort of insulting of inflammatory title.

Nigel has repeatedly shown that she's a shit-stirring bully and a drama-whore. I've repeatedly offered to resolve this publically and privately and Nigel is obviously more concerned with stirring more shit.

People have voted and they've said that
1) They don't care
2) They want it contained to a single thread

So, Nigel, if you're intent on dragging this hysteria out to its end I'm more than happy to engage you in a debate on how much of a crazy bitch you are and how you thrive on abusing other posters and causing drama by trolling your home forum, but I and everyone else here would appreciate it if you contained your bat-shit insane bitchfits to a single thread.

I don't think you can for any sustained period of time and I'm confident that if you do have a proper argument with me you will lose, badly.

Look at this whole thread. Most of it is you arguing with anyone who will listen. This alone is proof that all you really want is drama and you'll do pretty much anything to get it.

Any time I have asked you to show how I was a misogynist, a sociopath or any of the other ridiculous ad-hominem attacks you've feebly flung at me, you have completely failed to come up with any sort of actual answer.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Republican-controlled Wisconsin Legislature on Wednesday voted to stop Democratic Gov. Tony Evers’ administration from requiring seventh graders to be vaccinated against meningitis.

The state Senate and Assembly, with all Republicans in support and Democrats against, voted to block the proposal. There is no current meningitis vaccination requirement for Wisconsin students.

The Legislature’s vote also makes it easier for parents to get an exemption from a chicken pox vaccine requirement that is in place for all K-6 students. Evers’ administration wanted to require parents seeking a chicken pox vaccination exemption to provide proof that their child has previously been infected.

Families could still seek waivers from the meningitis vaccination and chickenpox proof requirements for medical, religious or philosophical reasons, just as they can for other vaccinations.

The Advisory Council on Immunization Practices — experts who advise the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — has recommended that students get vaccinated against meningitis since 2005.

However, some parents complained at a public hearing that the proposed requirements violated their liberties. Health officials said they were trying to protect students’ health.

Meningitis is an infection of the brain and spinal cord that can also cause blood infections. It can be deadly or cause lifelong disability. Rates of the disease have declined in the United States since the 1990s and remain low in Wisconsin and across the country, according to the CDC.

Vaccines for both meningitis and chicken pox are widely used and have been proven to be safe and effective.

In March, a Republican-led legislative committee voted to block the proposed policy changes, just as it did two years ago and despite the objections of Democrats and health officials. The Legislature’s vote Wednesday is the final step needed to stop enactment of the policy.

The sunlight is the wrong colour.  It has been for a while.  Once you've learned to see it, you can't unsee it; even on a clear day with a blue sky, there's an everpresent yellowish tinge to everything.  Sometimes it's subtle, sometimes (like today) it's not.

Even now, when we're not directly downwind, and people aren't complaining about burning throats and watering eyes, the smoke is still there, higher up, dimming the light.  Crop production will suffer.

Between Canada and the Ukraine, feeding the humans is going to be interesting for the next year.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland’s city council voted Wednesday to pass an ordinance prohibiting camping during daytime hours in most public places as it, like other places in the U.S., struggles to address a longtime homelessness crisis.

The 3-1 vote changes city code to say that people may camp in nonrestricted areas from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., but after that they must dismantle the site until the permitted overnight hours begin again.

The ordinance also bans camping entirely near schools, parks and busy streets among other locations.

Business and property owners were among those who backed the ordinance, saying campsites are causing them to lose customers and creating safety issues. Advocates for homeless people said it will further burden them, heightening mental and physical distress.

Portland has already prohibited camping on city property at all hours. But that measure has rarely been enforced and could be found to violate a state law that takes effect July 1.
