The words ('birth') and 'think big' are kinda giving away the punchline a bit too early IMO.

Well, I put the ("Birth") part in, because it implies that it's written in invisible ink on your mum's uterus.

Maybe it was one of those things that started off as a good idea, but as more and more ideas got piled on top of it, it glowed, and stank of fail and rotting flesh.

But isn't unification trying to impose a consensus and so part of the Aneristic delusion?

I thought that was the intended scope of the question.  To show a happenstance of a perceived lack of order, within which, by the introduction of aneristic principles, a better state of being was reached, is how I understood the question.

BLACK IRON PRISON END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT
IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") constitutes a valid and binding agreement, and is necessary for existence. You have no choice but to enter into this agreement, so please be aware of the terms as defined below.

1.  BLACK IRON PRISON TERMS

Black Iron Prison ("BIP") ownership entitles user to equip and use a licensed cell on one unique human for an unknown time period.

BIP ownership period will vary according to life choices including but not limited to: natural or deliberate action resulting in death, coma, state of mental disability, or a permanent vegetative state.  Access to above-mentioned cell may or may not terminate at the end of the ownership period.  The ownership duration will be computed from the date on which the necessary licensing information is made available to the end-user("Birth").

2.  PROVISIONS

A.  You, the end user, are the sole and exclusive owner of all materials provided by the BIP. Nothing in this Agreement shall operate to transfer any title or ownership interest in such materials to anyone but yourself.

B.  You acknowledge that you have the ability to provide support, including but not limited to installation, maintenance, debugging and improvements, for materials, this includes but is not limited to:  choosing the dimensions and furnishings of your cell, the flexibility of said dimensions, and the ability to make choices from the options available.

C.You acknowledge that you have the ability to change any of the parameters for your cell.  said parameters include, but are not limited to: the abovementioned dimensions, furnishings, flexibility, and choices.

3.  BREACH OF PROVISIONS

A.  You acknowledge that failure to engage these abilities will result in support being provided for you externally.

B.  You acknowledge that in the result of support being provided for you, third party bars to the cell may be established, and that by using such services you understand that this third party bar may affect the way your paradigim's shift("Brainwashing"). You agree that you must evaluate, and bear all risks associated with, the use of any content, including any reliance on the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of such content.

C. You acknowledge that continued breach of provisions may or may not result in an inability to filter third party bars, as well as an inability to provide your own support.

Genghis Khan could be called a discordian in this sense.  When the norm for northeast Asia was warring nomadic tribes, he sought to unite under a common tribe, so food, and  basic necessities were more easily available, as well as increased defenses, etc.

I could dig up sources showing that meditation has a positive effect on stress. I could also dig up sources that show tibetan monks having the physiologic ability to increase their body temperature to the point where they can dry freezing wet robes draped over them.

Neither of those things have to do with religion though, and certainly nothing paranormal. Its all very powerful psychosomatic responce. Very interesting, and very useful, and also very physical in its evidence. No paranormal shit here.

Paranormal ≠ spiritual.

A good question in considering this idea is; What happens should we choose to shift in our methods?  How many people will turn away from what discordianism would become, because it's no longer their flavor?

Half of me wants to say Well, fuck them, then.  If they can't hang, let them find something else.  However, if we assume this mentality, how long until it takes a shift I don't like, or you don't like?  How long until we have a plethora of discordian sects, and a crippling amount of in-fighting?

I suppose you could argue that this is already the case, there are the Loveshades, the Mahadjiqkal Erisians, the Myspacers, us PD.com freaks, subgenii, etc.  In my opinion, these groups are still working towards a shared goal, waking up cabbages, and having fun doing it.  The last thing we need is to end up cancelling each other out.

Stick apart but work together.

I think all these ideas need to be mushed together.  Here's my best effort, after reading the replies chronologically.

While risking the perils of a sort of 'secret society',  we need to take a step back, out of the light and into the shadows.  Almost taking on a form of greyfaced hierarchy, those in the shadows devise the phony doctrines and ideas, and disseminate them into the proper hotbeds (myspace loldiscordians maybe?), give it to the kids.  LHX and ECH can write 'counter-culture' lyrics and anonymously send them to eminem and young jeezy.  Get something with enough momentum, especially after the CoN has shifted it's defenses, and there will be a snap back to their old memes, reflexes kicking in, they can't fight two things at once.  At least not two things so diametrically opposed.  They'll have to choose, and the choice will hinge on which presents a greater threat.  After the smoke clears, we can emerge from the shadows.

Has anyone else noticed that thinking about posting in a thread that ASS just posted in is kinda like thinking about fucking that hot chick who you know got boned by that one guy with the warts on his dick?
