2. Austin - Unity In Dub (Stop-Go Mix)
3. Blame - This Piano Track
4. Acen - Window In The Sky (Nino's Brighter Day Remix)
5. Strictly Rockers - Cut Like A Lumberjack
6. Naughty Naughty - Naughty Naughty 8A
7. Rude Boy Rude - Let It Shine
8. Release - Drifting (Moonrocks on Mars Mix)
9. Randall & Uncle 22 - Calling All Cars
10. Squarepusher - Dimotane Co
11. D'Cruze - Want You Now (SS & EQ Remix)

thanks TLU!

this made my walk to work today a lot more fun! i enjoyed the mix alot!

it reminded me a bit of the old Prodigy album, Experience. very cool, i totally missed out on that era of music, so I'm glad whenever i get the chance to catch up on it.

question, what is your work in it? it sounded to me a lot like a bunch of tracks played after eachother, maybe i didn't pay attention, but did you do a lot of mixing? or are all the samples and cuts yours? of course i do not know the original tracks.

further, it's interesting how it's very much a stop-and-go style of music, fast breaks interspersed with short slower bits, i suppose that's good because otherwise the dancefloor will get out of breath really soon, right?

also, i checked out some random stuff from the rest of stressfactor, very cool stuff there. i know hardly anything of there, but i like the way it sounds, also the oldskool hardcore/gabber sets. it's perfect for my mp3 stick, to get a 45-60 minute set so i don't have to worry about selecting my tracks.

i'm thinking of saving myself some time and effort, loading a set into Ableton, resampling to 145 BPM, pull a couple of ambient sets from somewhere else (or perhaps just record stuff from somaFM) and splicing those into 2-3-4 minute pieces for new jogging tapes, using some cheap mixing tricks (delays, overlayed beats and such). unless the sets are all much faster than 145, which would spoil them, maybe you can give me some pointers which ones are about that speed? (probably more hardcore than jungle/rave, i'd guess those are around 160-190 BPM, right? i'm not very good at estimating this)

Is my mixing really so hard to notice that it sounds like I put tracks together end on end? That's awesome!
I didn't do all the samples and edits myself (not by a longshot), just mixed it normally.

I'm not sure what exactly you're asking in the last paragraph though. Are you asking what sets on the stressfactor site are around 145 bpm?

well, i was mostly just enjoying the music, didn't pay much attention to pick out the mixing points. you need to listen with a different kind of ear for that.

yes, basically.

personally i find slowing down a track does more damage to its sound than speeding it up, so eh, 138-147 BPM or so? :)

i wonder if i can find a nice linux commandline tool that analyses that for me. i'd love to have that metadata ready for me always.

Hm, can't help you with that. Haven't heard 'em all. You'll probably find that most of them are faster than that though.

and thanks Fred! (check out the show in an hour in a half. srsly.)

yeah. i assume all the jungle/breaks stuff is at least 166bpm and up. i was thinking i might have more luck with the oldskool hardcore sets.

I was finally able to check this stuff out.

Pretty good DJ job!  Good choice of tracks, too.  I don't get out to the clubs as much as I used to -- but then again, they don't usually play this kind of stuff, either.

Ooo...I like this a lot so far. This sound reminds me a lot of high school and the music I used to listen to while I trained for nationals.

You kinda did get that backwards. I do have a Y chromosome. But I am a girl, because I'm transsexual (male body, but I identify as female) So...yeah.
