Or Kill Me / Rant: embrace the path

Interesting idea.. I still tend towards the eristic illusion, although, upon further consideration, I act as if under the aneristic illusion.

I wonder what that makes me? Free from erism? Free from erism?!

That's like a line perpendicular to a plane. Or, in this case, a line perpendicular to another line.

Oh yeah, that's what the whole damn book was about.

[edit]Alas, free from erism I am not. Simply another wanna-be erisian...[/edit]

Alright, one more time I will say that
Quote from: II can never understand why people who are aware of the brainwashing remain Christian. I used to be Christian, but soon I realized that the only reason I was Christian was because I had been brainwashed since I was born. God had never 'spoken' to me. I had never felt the Holy Spirit. The argument that the Bible was auto-true didn't make sense: other religions have their own 'divinely inspired' scriptures. The only reason I was Christian was because I was born in a Christian family. If I had been born in a Muslim family, I'd be a Muslim. If I had been born in a Shintoist family, I'd be Shintoist.
was NOT about you. Don't get angry, it's OK. I just felt like talking. Which doesn't seem that strange to me, considering the purpose of this place.

The only thing in my post that was directed to you was the question, which I stated twice.

If you do not wish to answer, that's fine. I was just curious, didn't mean to make you all grumpy.

Now I guess I'll respond to individual parts of what you said. I don't have anything better to do.

Quote from: chaosgraves:agentoferisso why did you bring up the family raising someone as a basis for MY choice of religion?!?!?I mean considering you said it your self that you were raised in it but are no longer one.
Again, that was just a misunderstanding. I did not mean to imply that you were only Christian because you were born into a Christian family. I was just commenting on why I was originally Christian.

Quote from: chaosgraves:agentoferisI am unsure as to why you included this in your statment as I have never told you that... and I don't believe that there are any others around here that subscribe to the believes that you are addressing... ( know your audience)and I am a little confused by someone that is on a discordian forum page getting all hung up over reason... but that is your right.
Again, I thought talking to no specific person was acceptable on a forum (how else would new topics be started?).

Quote from: chaosgraves:agentoferisI don't remember asking to be persecuted in the first place... and remember that is your word for it not mine... you appearently will persecute me regardless of my fealings on the matter. and I'm pretty much ok with that I'm pretty used to knee jerk spiritual bashing.
I intended that remark with sarcasm. I did not, by any means, intend to spiritually bash you.

Quote from: chaosgraves:agentoferisso what?!?!? there's no need for any of the post you just made... but you did it... oh well.
Sorry. I was just saying that there was no need for the animosity, it was only a misunderstanding. As for the 'no need for my post', I will again question the purpose of this forum. What is it for, in your opinion? I see it is not acceptable for me to record my thoughts here.

[edit]I see you say you thought the conversation was funny. If you weren't really getting grumpy and I just misinterpreted your response, I apologize. I really didn't want to fight with you.[/edit]

Quote from: chaosgraves:agentoferisOh i'm sorry are you asking me this on a Discordian board?!?!?

So you were raised discordian?!?!?
No, as I said, I was raised Christian.

Quote from: chaosgraves:agentoferisOr is the question " why Do you still believe in the truth even though people can use the truth to brainwash"?!?!?
No, the question was 'why do you choose Christianity'?

Quote from: chaosgraves:agentoferisso you are asking me about my believes based on your personal experience?!?!?
Who else's experience would I base anything on?

Quote from: chaosgraves:agentoferisSo because of the fact that other religions have divinely inspired text's means the divinely inspired text I mainly use is wrong?!?!?
No. That rant wasn't directed at you, it was directed at those who tell me to believe in the Bible because it is the Word of God. I was just curious why you chose to be Christian, as I can currently find no reason to do so.

Quote from: chaosgraves:agentoferisI have also on this board talked about being buddist, how come no one has asked me these questions about being buddist?!?!?
I dunno. I'll try to remember to persecute you for being Buddhist, if you want.

Quote from: chaosgraves:agentoferisoooopppps. I forgot to address another point you asked about... Have I ever said that Christianity is any truer than Hinduism, Islam, et al.?
I don't recall this but please point it out to me if I have.
I apologize. I meant to just ask you why you picked Christianity. I ended up ranting about the reasons others have given me.

But I'd still like to know, why have you chosen Christianity?

No need for extraneous exclamation points.

Quote from: chaosgraves:agentoferis...I'm a christian.

Just curious, why? What makes you think Christianity is any truer than Hinduism, Islam, et al.?

I can never understand why people who are aware of the brainwashing remain Christian.

So my question, again, is: why Christianity over the rest?

I saw somebody mention the leviticus 'man with a man as with a woman' thing.

Apparently, that's a mistranslation. The hebrew word in there (can't remember what it was) is translated as 'bed' or 'couch' about 50 times in the KJV. In that verse, however, homophobia has morphalized the translation.

It supposedly really said something like 'a man should not lie with another man in his wife's bed.'

After I learn Greek, I'll learn Hebrew and check it out. (Not in this decade.)

As for the Watched Topics Mod, it has been thought of before. http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=100096.

Unfortunately, it's for phpBB 2.0.6. This is 2.0.4. Might not work.

[edit] OOPS! that's not what it looks like. It does e-mail notification for all watched topics...
