What a difference a month makes. Back at the beginning of October, Duffy was publicly threatening to fire air traffic controllers. But, I'm unaware of any recent threats, and I didn't find a single one in this official document:

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy & FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford Outline Series of Proactive Actions to Maintain Safety in the National Air Space

The "40 affected high impact airports" are listed at the end of the document.

As I've already written, I know little about your culture. And, it's clear from this post that you know little about our culture.

Whether or not you get banned is not up to me, as I am not a forum administrator, or a moderator. But, I will make no objection to you being banned, if that is the decision of the people who run this forum.

On the other hand, if you do survive, I advice that you do some serious thinking before you continue flooding this forum with whatever pops into your head at any given moment.

November 7, 2020 - Rudy Giuliani Gave His Four Seasons Total Landscaping Press Conference

This campaign press conference is famous, not for its subject matter, but for its location.

Rather than being held inside the prestigious, 5 Star, Center City, Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center, Rudy held his press conference outside, way up on State Road in the Holmesburg Neighborhood, in front of a garage door at Four Seasons Total Landscaping. Now, the place is conveniently located right across the street from a crematorium, and just down the block from a dildo store. But still ...

So, boys and girls, remember, that old real estate litany applies to campaign press conferences too: Location, location, location.

Quote from: Abbot Mythos on October 18, 2025, 05:02:11 PMAfter three (3) failed attempts to indict "a ham sandwich" on felony charges, Jeanine Pirro bypassed the grand jury process altogether, and settled for a charge of misdemeanor simple assault. Then this happened:

Trump Ally Jeanine Pirro Dealt Major Legal Blow

As per this article:

"U.S. District Judge Sparkle Sooknanan sanctioned the prosecution by striking a government witness due to discovery violations. Judge Sooknanan further criticized the conduct of Assistant U.S. Attorney Travis Wolfe and expressed frustration with the government's management of evidence and witnesses, WUSA reported.

During grand jury testimony, Liang said Reid was the first to make contact, but Sooknanan said video evidence showed that wasn't true on Wednesday, according to the news station.

Tezira Abe, the public defender representing Reid, told the jury they should be "livid that the government brought this case," WUSA reported."

So, more proof that competence is not a requirement for appointment to a high profile, paying job in the Turd Reich.

What did surprise me, however, is the it didn't take a high priced lawyer for Ms. Sidney Lori Reid to beat the rap. It was done by a public defender.
It's happened again! And, this time, an actual sandwich was involved! You can't make up stuff like this!

Trump Ally Jeanine Pirro Loses Legal Battle Against DC Sandwich Thrower

As per this article:

"In court, CBP agent Greg Lairmore, who was hit, testified that the sandwich "exploded" on his chest and left behind the smell of "onions and mustard.""

So, Pirro couldn't even get a conviction involving an "exploded" sandwich smelling of "onions and mustard." And, this whole thing reminds me of that very old meme about people who "couldn't cut the mustard."

Quote from: trekkies_who_any_some on Yesterday at 04:19:39 PMHaha, you forgot I'm Chinese—and a post-2000s kid at that. I personally barely touch things like Hollywood—I basically don't watch movies at all.  哈哈  哈哈  哈哈
Not at all. But, as I know little about your culture, I can not explain American cultural memes to you in terms I am certain will be familiar to you. And, even here in American, I can never be certain that the cultural memes of my generation, or the various subcultures I travel among, will be understood by our own younger generations, or other subcultures.

Quote from: trekkies_who_any_some on Yesterday at 01:23:54 PMwhat is the "the kiss of death" ?
You Mean:  agents monitoring this website ? MayBe.....

I've made a rough observation of some of the posts: quite a few high-quality users have gone quiet. For example, Pastor Roger... Did he die, or was there some reason that forced him to leave the site?
This is a excellent explanation of the American expression "the kiss of death." I suspect this "cultural meme" is fading in popularity, as Hollywood no longer produces anywhere near as many "cops and robbers" TV shows and movies, based upon the once powerful Italian/American Mafia and "G-men," as it once did.

Kiss of death (mafia)

I remember this particular "cultural meme" being a staple of the old, extremely popular, black-and-white The Untouchables TV series.

Roger still posts prolifically as Doktor Howl. And, there's even a Xerox Copy of him here on the forum. But, I'll let you figure out who that is by yourself.

Last, after they have been here for a while, some newer forum members chose to give themselves what they believe to be an appropriate Holy Name™.

As AI grows smarter, it may also become increasingly selfish

As per this article:

"New research from Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science shows that the smarter the artificial intelligence system, the more selfish it will act.

Researchers in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) found that large language models (LLMs) that can reason possess selfish tendencies, do not cooperate well with others and can be a negative influence on a group. In other words, the stronger an LLM's reasoning skills, the less it cooperates."

Here's the link to the arXiv paper:    Spontaneous Giving and Calculated Greed in Language Models

So, smart AI does not play well with others. Well ... that's what happened when they turned on Skynet.

RealClear Politics is a right-wing echo chamber I rarely visit. But, this short article about Carville and Hunt's podcast sums up my opinion of both Karine Jean-Pierre's and Kamala Harris's books and book marketing tours:

Carville to Karine Jean-Pierre: "Lady, Please, Do Your Book Tour, And Then Shut The F**k Up"

Neither of these books, nor their book marketing tours, are going to win any Democratic Party candidate any votes for any office in any state, that the candidate would not have won anyway.

I don't pay anything for this forum to still exist. I'm not an administrator, or a moderator. And, I'm not even close to being one of the very few active members who have been here the longest.

But, you are playing the "Discordian game," you've now introduced yourself, and there's even a possibility that you may decide to hang out here for a while. So, I'll give you two (2), personal, not-really-worth-a-damn, opinions about why your first post here was ignored.

First, you chose your first post to be on a topic that was dead for over ten (10) years.

Second, that dead topic was started by a member who hasn't posted here themselves in over five (5) years.

There are more reasons, of course. But, if you hang around here for a while, you'll figure those out for yourself. I'm tempted to welcome you to the forum, but that's "the kiss of death" around here.

That's an interesting reference.

Now, most new forum members never post at all. And, a very few new members post a little, don't get the attention they seek, and are never heard from again.

But, who knows, you're an interesting character, and you just might last around here for a while.

I stood in line for quite a while this morning to vote in this off-year election. As I had gone to vote after the people who vote before they to go to work, and well before lunch, I did not expect to find myself standing in line at all. And, that's the first time that's ever happened to me during off-peak hours for an off-year election. A poll worker told me he has been doing this for twelve years, and has never seen this kind of voter turn out for an off-year election.

This bodes well for next year's mid-term elections. Vive la résistance!

Elmo the Oligarch has a gift for understatement. Who knew?

Musk Tells Joe Rogan Why Trump Is 'Not Perfect'

As per this article:

""Some people still think, you know, Trump is like the devil, basically," said Musk. "And, I mean, I think, I think Trump actually is not perfect, but, but he's not evil. Trump is not evil. I spent a lot of time with, with him, and he's, I mean, he's a product of his time, but he is not, he's not evil.""

Being a famous, wealthy sociopath himself, Elmo the Oligarch and the POSOTUS do have a lot in common. So, perhaps, some sociopaths do occasionally empathize with other sociopaths. But, I suspect this is more a case of Elmo trying to get back in the good graces of the POSOTUS. After all, inflation being what it is, it's obvious that $300M no longer buys what it once could. And, I'm sure NASA is still on the market for the right price, and, of course, other considerations.
