Just as a heads up- I am going to ask for some collaboration (via PM, so as not to spoil) as you as a character come along. Credit will be implied by your appearance in the comic strip.

Ok, so, this episode is a two parter- I'm putting up some panels tonight. The person I originally contacted hasn't been on in the past several days. The second person I contacted (who was going to be in the next episode) said that they'll try and get their contribution to me by tomorrow. If not, this is the installment for this week a day early. Uploading to photobucket, incoming in a couple of minutes.

a) Made about a thousand nose jokes.
b) Bass guitar
c) It's Norway, people who like that kind of music, or play it, have about five pubs to choose from, nationwide. Two in Oslo, One in Bergen, One in Trondheim, One third of a pub in Fredrikstad, One third in Stavanger, and the last third is split between two backrooms in Bodø and Kautokeino.
d) I can at the very least get it played in the two Oslo pubs. And probably give it away to anyone I might happen to be getting shitfaced with (or on, for that matter)

New York, Washington and Los Angeles were only founded to be a magnet for outsiders so they wouldn't see what the rest of the place is really like. They're... what's the word I'm looking for... distractions.

To be fair, NYC has its share of weird, but it's often overlooked because the place smells fucking horrible.

Also, I think the New Kids are from Dot and not Southie proper. Though I think one or two of them were from JP.

:checking:

Joey McIntyre was born in Needham and the Knight brothers are from Worcester. The rest seem to be proper Bostonians, and Dot rats specifically.

Southie shuffle: Kickin' a dood with both feet aftah ye've already knocked him down.
(Big) Papi: David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox.
Duck boat: Refitted amphibious war vehicles that are now used in some American cities (like Boston) for touring purposes. They regularly appear in Bostonian parades. We even have a gay pride one.
Dropkick Murphys: A Celtic Punk band from Boston
Steven Tyler: An ugly woman from New Hampshire that formed a band and practiced in what is now an auto shop in Somerville, MA, which employs Pat Lydon of Anarchangel and The Queue.

That last panel is probably the most consistent I'm going to get. Trinity Church (behind Amanda Palmer) is across the street from the Copley Branch Library (behind Waffle Iron).

You're doing better than a lot of movies. I've seen streetside conversations like that cutting back and forth between two different towns.

Dammit.... now I have NKOTB stuck in my head....

Kill it with 70's Aerosmith. Or G.G. ...New Hampshire's close enough. Hey, I heard the New Kids were from the "white part" of Dorchester, that's South Boston but is it Southie proper?
Also, MOAR.  :lulz:

Also, I think the New Kids are from Dot and not Southie proper. Though I think one or two of them were from JP.

:checking:

Joey McIntyre was born in Needham and the Knight brothers are from Worcester. The rest seem to be proper Bostonians, and Dot rats specifically.

I remember people saying "Don't put the New Kids down, it beats stealin' hubcaps."

I'm so confused right now

About which part?

Also, you'll get more of a role, I just needed more St. Pat's background, and it was right there.

Haven't really been following the story up until now, so just trying to get the hang of the style of narration.

It's mostly off the top of my head. I have a general idea of where I want to go and then google images sends me somewhere else. It's part contrived and part madness.

Though, I should note that the Frost Heaves are playing with Daniel Ouellette (the same dude I had a gig with last week), so I might take some pics of this for the purpose if you all don't mind the inordinate airtime devoted to Boston.

This, incidentally, was the show I was supposed to play with Daniel, with Villager on bass, but we got swapped out because the guy playing bass Saturday really wanted to play this Saturday.

It's a pity. I would have loved to for once have shared a stage with LMNO.

Side note, LMNO, I'm in the habit of doing a show on my birthday. What's Frost Heaves doing the first week of August?

Twid,
Still wants a record deal, but not that bad.
Also, I've heard that sentiment.
Also, my 28 year old sister loved NKOTB and infected my Hibernian Irish girl cousins with that crap.

ETA: I also spent a lot of my high school years in both the Copley Library and at the Fountain in front of Trinity. That was not a detail I was going to overlook.

Also best thing I ever heard on the T (39 route going to work from Westie to Longwood with a cross over at Forest Hills at the time[I live on the 39 route until May])

OK spags. Final appeal. I've plotted out a tentative route. If you want in now, speak up now. Route will be finalized next Friday. Also, he's going to follow this route if you check in or not. If you don't check in, you just will be mysteriously absent from your general location.*

* This doesn not mean I won't contact you if you're on the itinerary. It just means if you are not certain that you're on it (and don't assume you are unless I've somehow acknowledged it elsewhere), I won't know to bother you.

Props for working Nimoy in there.
His dad was a barber...in Lynn or Rozzie, I think. I knew a lot of people who said Spock's dad cut their hair.

Then again, every drunk on Rantoul Street in Beverly was either a personal friend of Steven Tyler or the keyboardist for J. Geils.

I think it's funny Nimoy's grandfather urged him to take up accordion because there would always be money in it.  :lulz:

I love that Nimoy went into poetry and photography to the extent that you really can't tell whether he's trolling, while Shatner trolled so hard he eventually outed himself, and Takei is still trolling like a motherfucker.

I saw a Nimoy gallery a few years back.  It was of obese naked women.  Still not sure if it was a troll.

They're trolling where no man has trolled before.

I'm pretty sure at least some of this stuff is a superb troll.
http://www.artnet.com/artwork/425406203/1015/leonard-nimoy-matisse-dancers.html

He talks about "fat acceptance" here http://newpagesblog.blogspot.com/2007/11/art-leonard-nimoy-and-large-ladies.html

'The average American woman,' Nimoy writes, 'weighs 25 percent more than the models selling the clothes. There is a huge industry built up around selling women ways to get their bodies closer to the fantasy ideal. Pills, diets, surgery, workout programs. . . . The message is You don't look right. If you buy our product, you can get there.'"

These women weigh somewhat more than "25 percent more than the models selling the clothes".

Also, apologies to my readers, but aside from having to pack up and find a new place, I also have a bit of a creative block. I kinda have an idea of what should happen next. I've just been a bit preoccupied. I missed last week and this week won't happen either.

Next time I have a spare moment (probably when I'm crashing at Villager's) I'm going to download a shit load of pics and think it over.

I'll make time for a two parter next week.

Oh well, I always expected to have this as Suu's intro scene, I just had to find a way for Waffle Iron to get into some sort of accident.

I also have a general idea of what will happen for the rest of Providence, and possibly where he will end up next. I'll have to see if I still have that map.

Also, his trip has to follow a semi-logical pattern at first.

It won't for the next city. I'm just not sure where in North America he's going next. Just where he isn't going and who's at fault.

or womp her out and put in someone else, someone batrachian, preferably under a gibbous moon, and switch the celery with.... fish?  :lulz:

"Good," said Seth. "Anyway. H. P. Lovecraft. He'd write one of his bloody sentences. Ahem. 'The gibbous moon hung low over the eldritch and batrachian inhabitants of squamous Dulwich.' What does he mean, eh? What does he mean? I'll tell you what he bloody means. What he bloody means is that the moon was nearly full, and everybody what lived in Dulwich was bloody peculiar frogs. That's what he means."

Whale.

Or rather, the North American equivalent of food that people not from that country consider disgusting and not really food.

Which could be spray cheese or something. I don't know, what's disgusting American food besides just saying American food?

Heh, I figured you'd say that. Many restaurants have different burgers based on locale. Here in New England at least, we have them named after states. (at the Pour House on Boylston St, a Massachusetts burger is just a plain burger, a Vermont burger is a cheeseburger. Texas burgers usually involve bacon, mushrooms and possibly pepperjack...) But, I've seen places, usually in Europe do it by country. THere's this one place in Dublin, marketed as an American restaurant (whatever that means. We just call them restaurants. Are we talking Denny's, IHOP, The 99, Hojo's, what?). The American burger there was two burgers. Not a double burger, mind you. Two separate ones. My fellow travelers and I were actually mildly offended.

That didn't stop us from ordering though. I mean, shit that's two fucking burgers.

But, while I understand, I mean like not involving portions. This should be easy enough. We basically eat plastic with food dye.

No burger in Texas is served with mushrooms unless you DIY at home.
If they MEANT it, they'd use a thick layer of sliced, pickled jalapenos, not those pussy granules in "pepperjack".

How do you find ghost pepper sauce up there? I couldn't even get jalapenos at Taco Bell in Danvers.

I'll have to ask Villager, she got it for me knowing my fondness for melting my face. Jalapenos are pretty commonplace up here now. Now I want jalapenos. I don't think I ate enough today. I'm too easily suggestible foodwise. You might not get them in a Taco Bell up here but you can find some decent stuff at some restaurants as well as the grocery store.

I was actually just a the Pourhouse Wednesday when I was up in Boston on my date to the MFA. Nom foods there. Typically we invade the place post-convention, but it was post-game busy, so Boylston as a whole was batshit. I'm surprised we got a table.

It does but you are probably still seeing it because of browser cache.

Ahhh. Gotcha.

Well, it's a bit more work than I'm interested in doing at this particular moment, so I'll leave it alone for now, especially where RWHN didn't say I have to. I still will, but I won't rush about it.

Note, Waffles, though in a time loop, is still in Providence, on July 14, 2012, which is when I took these pics with my phone. When he gets out of the time loop, he will still be in Providence on that specific date.

The same with Providencians. That place gives me the jimjams. Well, not as much as that dilapidated power plant in Canton does. Have you SEEN that place? From the bridge on the tracks. Seriously, Canton is fucking Chernobyl with trees.

Actually, you know what's kinda fucked?

I know I've been to Canton. Like, not on the Commuter Rail and passing through. I can't remember ever being there though. Dead sober each time too.

But.

temporal anomaly has to resolve first.

So why did Dimo turn into Coyote?

Messing with the Spacetime continuum.

Speaking of which, because of RWHN getting his divorce together, plus pure laziness, his position in the everlooping timeline will be unaffected. However, the last iteration of the Skraeling will not be him.

Tried a new knitting technique to make a baby hat for BFF's oldest child's first spawn. Everything fell off the needles after a seventy-two stitch long-tail cast on. FUCK YOU, CIRCULARS!

WOMPed instead.

WOMPs are always good- should probably get back to that myself.

Especially with Adventures of Waffle Iron.

Gotta get back to those Rontarans, too.

That reminds me . . . I had a dream awhile ago that Waffle was a comic character that played a ukelele made from struedel and cinnamon rolls. You were the cartoonist and wore a black beret all the time. Your comic finally got turned into a tv cartoon and Nigel is the producer only things catch on fire and Waffle runs away on the walls and escapes the building, taking up a life as a wall mural in NYC.

Also, I'm going to work all of this into the story. BRB.
