I'm heading there in next month to visit Pirate Hooker while she's dealing with some mystery disease. I'd like to take the opportunity to have a beer with as many spags as I can when able.
I know there are some Ohio spags but as I'm told that Ohio is Michigan's sworn enemy I won't be heading that way.

I'm from Flint. Don't know about having a beer or doing a whole lot of anything due to job search and school, but if you're planning on going through that area I can recommend some places to stop by, depending on your interests.
I'd like to recommend a nice place to grab a beer in Michigan, but having lived there before I know there aren't any.
What part of the state you headed to? If it's Oakland County, I can drop some minimal local knowledge on you that may or may not still be valid, if it's anywhere else in Metro Detroit I can recommend "no".
The coast is nice once you get north of the thumb on the eastern side or Benton Harbor on the western side.
For fuck's sake, DO NOT stop in Benton Harbor.
I'm a Michigan spag. My barn is the best place around for beers.

I'm not overly worried about places to go since I'll have PH, her friends and family and what not to show me around. Though any places of note according to spags is always worth checking out.
I'm flying direct from AK to MI and will be there about a week. I just wanted to if anyone was around during my reprieve from this place.

I know my way around metro Detroit quite well and can recommend some places to go and whatnot.
If you'd be willing to travel to Ann Arbor or further east to what is generally considered metro Detroit, then I'd totally have a beer with you, man.

If you want to be posh and still be in Metro Detroit, you'll have to move to Keego Harbor or West Bloomfield.

Though in all seriousness you can find nice places there for reasonable rent if you look hard enough.
I mean, I lived there on a bouncer's income. You just gotta stay on the other side of Cooley Lake Rd. from the actual lakes. Or over on the side of town closer to Commerce.
I don't want to move over there that badly hah.

yeah, you could fit all of the highland lakes into St. Clair and have room left over.
