Bring and Brag / Dress Form.
May 10, 2009, 12:26:04 AM
Oh Hi ya! It's been a while I know but some shitty tings have been cropping up for me to deal with IRL. I do remember a while back someone was asking about the best place to buy a Dress form. I just found one while browsing Good Will Auction Online and I though I would drop the link here in case someone wanted to bid on this thing. Looks OK and the final price should be lower than buying one from the local fabric store even with shipping... I hope.

Discordian Recipes / Burgers!
January 19, 2009, 11:37:22 PM
So when I ask my boyfriend, "What would you like eat tonight?" He always asks for hamburgers! I like them OK but seriously, I'm getting sick hamburger meat in general. But I went and made him some burgers with Sun dried tomatoes, onions, garlic and mushrooms in them. They were pretty good.

I would like to know how everyone else makes the perfect burger. So please if you have any freaken awesome burger recipes please share. Thanks!

Bring and Brag / Mah sewing.

Well it's been a while but I decided to make a skirt. I made this vogue one with a yoke because I wanted to see if I could. It looked kinda complicated but I think I pulled it off well. The only thing is I did not alter the pattern and it's WAY too small for me to wear. But I'm sure I can find someone to give it too when it's all done.

I just have to hem it and put on the buttons. I'm thinking of top stitching the seams of the yoke in red though. Any way it was fun!

Bring and Brag / Jan. 1st.

My boyfriend's birthday, he wanted to do something pretty fucking awesome. He decided to break this steel bar by bending it in half one way, un-bending it and then bending it back again till it split apart. He bends these things by hand. This is one of his hobbies, he usually just bends nails, horseshoes, and bars but this time.. it was personal.
I think the pics of this feat are pretty fucking cool looking so I thought I would share even though It's not MY accomplishment.

This took him about three hours to do, the bar did get pretty hot there in the middle. (We also made a cake.)

Discordian Recipes / Raph's Kitchen take 2
October 15, 2008, 01:07:09 AM
:lulz: I need to relearn how to internet!

Oh hi guys! Missed it here and I thought I would come back and bring with me foods! So here is the first installment of Raph's Kitchen. Please enjoy and any advice on how to improve my cooking is MOST WELCOME thanks!

Coconut Shrimp:
So during my first excursion to Whole Foods (possibly my last) I bought this thing of coconut.  I thought, well I could use this up no problem... fucking wrong.  Anyway here is the latest in my effort to use up all this coconut.  I bought some frozen shrimp, it was not too expensive at about $7.00 a bag. This was the cheapest but it was also the only raw and organic kind they had. Which is nice, but it means peeling and pulling shit veins out of those little fuckers.  I also had a Spaghetti squash that needed to be used as it was hanging around my counter for nearly two weeks.

First I set my squash baking at about 350 to 400. I had never made Spaghetti squash before and I figured it would be the same as cooking butternut.  While that was going I set up my dipping station with egg wash, flour mixed with a Cajon seasoning and my coconut then set about cleaning my shrimps.
Once I pulled the legs and poop veins from those guys I filled my cast iron pan with canola oil and let it heat up while I battered mah shrimp. Now if anyone can recommend a better way to batter things I would be very grateful because this was messy and time consuming.  First I dipped them in the egg, then the flower then the egg again and finally rolled them in the coconut. Perhaps next time I will change up the dipping procedure and test the results, hindsight is 20/20 after all.

Well I fried them till they were golden brown, some got a little more brown than others but that's to be expected because I do not have a thermometer so I really don't know how hot the oil was. At some point the squash was done so I scooped it out and added some cinnamon and blue agave syrup. I think I over cooked this squash, or something because it did not look like Spaghetti at all more like rice. It tasted good and that's really what counts.

I popped some fresh green beans in to the oven with drizzle of sweet almond oil, a dash of sea salt and some crushed almonds as well. I plated it all up with yesterday's salad and made a dipping sauce for the shrimps too. All I had was coconut milk and some Thai peanut sauce so I mixed those together for instant yum.

Bring and Brag / Madeline’s Inferno
May 29, 2008, 12:09:40 PM
I was inspired by NWC to post some of my horrible, terrible, no good poetry! I also did not wish to hijack his tread, so here in its own little space I bring you some lines I wrote for my little sister. I had grand plans to turn it into a graphic novel but alas... I broke up with the illustrator before he had a chance to finish it. So much for my dreams. This is best when read, keeping in mind the theme of Madeline, there were 12 little girls in 2 straight lines and the youngest one was Madeline...

                          Madeline's Inferno by Raphaella VonMercer.
                                       2001

In my mind I'm wondering, fearing all the things I am now hearing. Screams and moans above, beneath me with shackled hands they wont release me.

The demons hands are pinching pulling; I close my eyes but can't stop looking. Tearing flesh and gnawing bone, these tormented screams are they my own?

I try to wake but I'm not sleeping, feeling pain now I think I'm bleeding. I feel them biting I feel them clawing I see another I think it's gnawing.

Jeering smiles and twisted laughter, I wonder what they'll do after all my flesh and bones are eaten and my head's too badly beaten.

Then one turned and said to me, his ghoulish voice full of glee, "We'll serve your head up on a platter and after that it will not matter, but we'll do a dance and spin around and then your eyeballs we will pound. We'll make a jelly, a tasty treat and spread it on your hands and feet. We'll eat them up and gulp them down, fingers make a crunching sound!
Then we'll boil what's left of your head, brush our fangs and go to bead."

"In the morning we'll be waking then you'll find you're whole and baking. Pretty soon we'll start again right where your terror all began. This will be your ever after, followed by our ghoulish laughter."

Sure enough I woke again right where this horror all began. Wrists and ankles bound and shackled hearing screams and hideous cackles. Painful torture soon did follow, too horrified to feel this sorrow.

Only now to change a bit they threw me a flaming pit, waited till I was charred and black and had a crispy snack.

Over and over and over again back to where it all began. I never asked though I know I can tell, if this is heaven I'd hate to see hell.

P.S.
My little sister really thought this was funny. She is a strange one.
