Thanks for posting that, it's a good read.

This is why I liked the old sheriff. He took care of things. While I relied on rituals and appeasements, he believed in assault rifles and gasoline. And sure, gunfire isn't going to kill everything - or most things, if we're being honest - but nothing, human or otherwise, likes being shot. It'd knock a lot of things down and after that, well, that's what the gasoline is for.

To add insult to injury, my cat is now hyperthyroid. It's a common disease in senior kitties, and it can be managed with medication, however, he's having serious difficulty coming out of the seemingly-mild sedation benzo they injected him with yesterday at the vet, and here we are, 36hrs later and he's still out of it, not wanting to eat. He did take his meds this afternoon in pill pockets, but it won't kick it that quickly. I need him to come out of this funk because cats will go into liver failure without food.

The other option is the radioactive iodine treatment, but he has to be in the cat hospital for a week after the injection because it literally makes him radioactive, and makes his poop radioactive. He's got some trauma from shelter life, so I don't know if I can do this. He barely handled having to stay for a day last year when he was getting a biopsy on his lipoma. I guess the best thing to do is wait the couple of weeks to see how he reacts to the medication.

This is fine. I get to watch both my husband and my cat waste away at the same time.

Fucking envy me.

I'm starting to make plans to scram as soon as their both gone. I fully plan to take my PhD and flee the country at this point, that is, if I'm not a fucking handmaid by that point.

Long story short, the prognosis is fucking terrible and shit keeps getting worse even though the tumors are responding to the chemo. I know chemo turns you into a nosferatu so I was expecting that, but nobody, and I mean fucking NOBODY should watch a loved one deteriorate like this. It's just the worst.

Survived hurricane. My part of Tampa sustained minimal damage and we didn't lose power. My mom lost a massive chunk of her camphor tree which took out the top of her live oak tree. My sister's birdcage over her pool survived this time, because it didn't survive Irma. Brother's house did not flood this time thanks to the reverse surge.

Squid has a lake in her front yard, but her post-Irma roof and fence held up.

We are all having a hard time getting a hold of our friends in Naples, Ft. Myers, Port Charlotte, etc, which is stressful, but the lines are pretty banged up.

I've had to increase plant-based eating in the last year since my body is starting to get BIG MAD over animal proteins (this getting old shit sucks). Purple Carrot has helped immensely with meal planning, and their heat-and-eat meals do not suck.

LOL we're gonna get fucking wailed. This one should miss poor Squid at least, she's gotten the brunt of the last few.
