Apple Talk / Re: Brahman Fight!!!!! /throws nothing
« on: Today at 07:23:39 am »
You have tiny assassins, I have a pair of mecha cities locked in an eternal series of wargames. It's Operation Jade Helm in the occipital lobe every day for me, except instead of bored grunts lugging dummy mortar rounds you have the blessings of absent extradimensional demon-titans whispered into the ports of autonomous mechanical weapons sent to destroy, well, any goddamn thing they can find, really.

It all gets reset to zero when we wake up from our nightly rest anyway, and if either side does achieve a victory before then it doesn't count because conditions favored solar-powered mutant cyborgs this day and the personification of oxidation and corruption the next. It's a scam, like any other power struggle.

I think they're just bored and obsessed to the point of singlemindedness. Then again we have political bullshit on the moon (the second moon) and a ratfucking sabotage back-and-forth between senile faeries who love astrophotography and hunchbacked light-worshipping vampires, so what even is the truth?

It could be the human condition is to Cause Problems On Purpose and we're manifesting it inside out, but I'm going to be real with you: I think it's because all our human fell out somewhere along the line and there's nothing you can replace that with. Now we're locked in a struggle against the void coming to core us like a fucking apple, and if peace is entropy, life must be war.

And yeah, you're absolutely right. You can't trust our kind.

Seriously. I get up to weird ass sci-fi shit in my head on a regular basis, and it's not even "being creative", it's "my brain is so broken that I'm time-sharing a body with a giant roundworm anthropologist and an industrial automation robot's user agent".

Whatever you're selling, I got better.

/reserves everything.

Hey did you all know that the limbic system - the emotional brain of the mind - is the portal to the Brahman, which is the quantum, which is God, or 'might as well be'?

And if you destroy your own limbic system, you can force the download of a kundalini backup, complete with Goddess manifestations, quantum cognitive function, and uhhhhh...other...things?  Like, cats like you extra, now?  That's the best powerup.

I'm not sure why I'm posting this if I'm just going to talk to myself again, but you know sometimes I have some great things to say so why not.

Oui, has anyone seen the Kalki's white horse laying around?  Fucking thing where is it...

I hope all of me is having a lovely evening out there.

You came to the wrong part of samsara, brother.

Also, starting in March, if I lived in Canada I'd be on the short-list of people who they'd like to just die already.

I have 198 other sentient beings in my head, most of whom would reject the word "people" and some of whom are, oh so scary, violently antisocial. Yeah, actually properly antisocial. (They don't want to hang in meatspace, it literally isn't a problem.) I'm also autistic and have BPD, so I'll never Be Normal and/or have fulfilling relationships with people who aren't as fucking insane as me.

I'm already treated like a fucking sideshow freak by half the people I meet just as a default setting, and doctors are fucking awful to their patients often enough that I wouldn't want any of those fuckers to even be able to say The Word to me unless I could dome them on the fucking spot.

Now imagine this LGBT fascist elimination project spreads over the border (and it ABSOLUTELY can, who remembers the stupid fucking trucker caravans) and some bright spark decides to reclassify LGBT identities as mental illness and boy howdy, Canada is overnight damn near Chechnya-bad for queers.

MAID is already, IIRC (and my memory is very bad), being suggested to people who can't meaningfully work. They can live rich and valuable lives, but they can't help produce capital, so why not die instead?

Even if I am remembering that wrong and it's not being wielded in the service of capitalist eugenics projects, the system is SET UP for it to be used as eugenics. Like I'm all for assisted suicide as a concept, but it has to be firmly a process FULLY in the control of the person who will die from it, from the beginning to the end. Right now, it's not. It's recommended to. It's signed off on.

So long as outside forces have the first OR the last say, it will always disproportionately have an impact on the people who ACTUALLY could be living well but no, fuck them, we don't want THOSE types.

Be careful about choosing where you go, if you do. There's a lot of places that are a bad day from as bad off as or worse than the UK.

Not to mention infrastructure.

Any city older than a century has infrastructural chaos on a scale you couldn't imagine if you were shown it. Everything looks nice and neat shown in isolation, but you add a single other datapoint and it's over for your conceived notions of shit making sense. The water mains were laid in before electrification, and in some cases before sewage. None of the three have anything to do with each other, except when they do, and system failures in those areas are spectacular. Transit infrastructure was built wherever the fuck it fit and/or they could buy out black people's property and flatten it. In cities like NYC, there's extra special infrastructure for things like heating skyscrapers without relying on resistive heat, and this was usually built after water, sewage and electrification, but before communications networks. Most cities have at least one area with a lot of maintenance tunnels and these map to almost nothing sensible either. They did when they were BUILT, mind you, but that was in the 1930s and things are different now.

The newer cities are worse, because everything is neat and orderly in one place and eroding into madness in another in a patchwork that maps to pretty much nothing, not even income level. The rich people want to move away from the poor people so they get new construction that isn't laid out in anything resembling a sensible fashion so as to eliminate walkability and thus poor people, the poor people want to live in the city center near their jobs but get priced out by gentrified tenements, you have just a seething fucking foam of alternating horror and sanity.

Infrastructure being considered orderly betrays a hilarious degree of optimism as regards the human species' ability to do a goddamn thing right.

Some coward on Twitter tried to use Dahmer as a counterargument to the good queer/bad queer divide being bullshit. I wrote this.

---

The problem with calling people like Dahmer "bad queers" is that it isn't their queerness that is bad. They aren't bad because they're queer, they're bad because they're predators. You can want to deal with awful people appropriately without treating their queerness as the issue. This is literally the same argument made anytime someone says "don't put trans women in men's prisons", and I don't see why it's so hard to extend the concept to every oppressed classification.

If someone is a shit person, then they're a shit person. Pay attention to what they've done, not who they are. Don't bring their identity into things, that just gives the societal majority ammunition they both HAVE and WILL use against all the fucking rest of us. Furthermore, I think that shit should be handled in community when possible, just because if it breaks containment it WILL be used against us. It already is, all the time.

And yes, by the way, it SHOULD in fact be obvious I don't support pedos, zoophiles, rapists or fucking serial killers, regardless of their identity. That shouldn't need to be said, but here we are!

This one got unexpectedly popular on Twitter. I've never had my writing hit more than about a dozen eyes before, we're in the hundreds now. I keep my circles close, so it's surprising it broke out of containment.

Not in the same mode as TADT, but deserves a post.

---

There is no future where the Good Queers survive and the rest of us freaks are wiped out. None. You will dig the grave of the one you shot dead with your own hand, and then the man who gave you the gun will put two in your head, too. You think collaboration will give you life?

Collaboration will give you DEATH. It will give you all the death in the world. It will pile the bodies high around you, and they will ALL have your face. It will kill the little things inside of you until there's just a puddle of reeking filth curdling atop your diaphragm.

It will kill your friends, it will kill your family, it will kill your love, your will to live, and your moral compass. Long after there is nothing left but a harrowed robot swinging the axe it will finally give you release: a knife to the heart that stopped beating so long ago.

And then it will kill your reputation, your history, your name. It will kill your face and replace it with a clown mask of its own devising.

But go on. Sell us the fuck out, you fake punk motherfuckers.

Who, when the thief returns bearing enemy intelligence hidden so closely for decades that it was near-mythical, would see them slain for a missing eye, a broken finger?

This is not even that. This is a far more serious offense. Being Without Permission.

Who told this, the best of us, that it could Be in a way that was not proactively offered to it? Who told this scoundrel, legendary, kin of Prometheus, that it was permitted to act so bravely and perform such a feat without having first performed the ritual purification of its nature, excising the strange from its bones?

Who indeed. No one told it such. It's a thief, a trickster saint, a mortal who took the devil's jewelry from his wrist while he watched it with alert eyes. It stole its Self, its identity, as it stole everything else. Taken without permission. Being without permission. And now its song is sung from town hall to dockside across the lands, and the tireless sentinels of Identity seek its end.

But it will steal the end from them and hide it away too. As will all of us, lurking in the dark, being without permission, growing, growing, festering and reaching grasping talons towards the city lights.

You can no more kill us than you can steal the names of the damned. If you had the strength, you would have already won.

Cower, sentinels. The thief is here, forever.

Owner 2 is probably going to try and sabotage everything at some point. Wait until he has a bad day (and I've lived in Missouri, you don't exactly have a fucking shortage of the days you should have stayed in bed) and catch him actively fucking things up on purpose and blaming your guys. If it's a REALLY bad day, he might decide he's in a movie and pull some dramatic stunt. No matter what, he will certainly yell "DON'T FUCK WITH ME" at least once in this time frame, while looking like a rampaging proboscis monkey.

I know his type. If you edge in on his territory, you are a demonic entity and need to be destroyed at all costs. No one tells him what to do. His buddy, Owner 1, probably is good at distracting him, but that's where the bad day part comes in. And yeah, they're definitely friends -- business-only, he'd bite that man's fingers right in front of you so he could tell you off.

I'm sure you're all very much aware of this, of course. I just think it would be impolite of Billy to not set up a camera in a side office, so you can laugh it up when your man tumbles into the ocean.

I have entire weeks where I refuse to look at any current events just because I feel the manic urge to burn every building in a quarter mile radius to the ground after so much time staring into the abyss.

And I'm in Chicago. I'm safe for AT LEAST 4 months, in the absolute worst possible scenario. There are people I know who are (who HAVE to be) doing combat training with their friends right now because carloads of armed fash show up at least once a week and have done so for months, and they're still in the US, not the UK.

So ... I get it.

Bureaucracy is indeed slow.

If anything from 2-4 is true, I'd put all my money on 4 just because of the lingering influence of that pigfucker Kissinger. 3 is strategically sound but doesn't build much support (and so is a bad move from a political standpoint), and 2 is more of a civilian-brain take on the situation (functionally, Putin is at the point where if he would ever press that button, when he does isn't really affected by NATO aid because all his shiny NBC warfare-equipped tanks are smoldering dumpsters on the Ukrainian border -- Russia can't fight very well in NBC conditions now, and NATO still can, for whatever that's worth).

But Kissinger put so much rhetorical energy into this two-superpowers idea. It's why everyone was/is talking scared about China forever, and why Japan was demonized in the 90s for being the technology hub of the globe, and why US policy in the Middle East is to repeatedly fuck every dog in sight. If there's any reason other than bureaucracy, its almost certainly that Kissinger's stink still has the frontal lobes of the US military entranced.
