The reason I haven't been posting my novel is because the formatting on forums sucks. You can't indent, so to show two paragraphs you need to put a space between them and whatnot... it ends up compromising the text (shit, I sounds like Nostalgic Badger now)
I just don't want people to think its because I think I am above criticism... far from it, I would love some input, but it just wouldn't look right on here, so it wouldn't be the full effect anyway. At least that's how I see it.
Also, I've said before... some of the material in my novel has been used in various places already on this forum.
So... yeah.
Can you give us a summary?
I mean, essentially mine is one long rant on my life anyway, so it can't be worse than that.
It's basically episodic, and not linear. My central character, YoYo Forgrave, has been incarcerated by the Brain police for reasons as yet unknown. He is interrogated on different occaisions by both by the violent and angry Officer Schadenfreude, and a cold female psychiatrist named Dr Weltschmerz.
The chapters (I just finished the first chapter last night) are broken up into small subchapters, sort of Vonnegut-style, and I am using each one to muse or rant on things that pop into my mind, for instance why eating something without talking or reading tastes better, how eating alone is one of the last unspoken tabboos, etc...
I am trying to incorporate Discordian principles as I see them, along with a semi-fictional history of Discordianism...
The interrogaters seem fixated on YoYo's original thought, as opposed to conventional thought.
I began the first second chapter last night by musing about things which may be using advanced mimicry to fool us into thinking they are garbage or trees or other humans...
